Chapter 6

Once again, Mia has finished another PK with a host, but this time, kitang-kita ang lamang niya sa resulta. Mia won; she killed another host

Gaya ng sa mga laro sa video game, their screen displayed an effect. Sa side ni Mia ay nakalagay ang malaking banner na “Winner” with effects. Naglalaglagan ang confetti mula sa itaas ng kanyang screen, mas naging lively ang kulay ng kanyang itsura samantalang sa side naman ni Bunny ay nagkaroon ng kulay pulang banner. Nakalagay ang salitang “Loser” at may mga umiiyak at malulungkot na emojis na naglalabasan. Bunny’s side turned greyscale. It was as if someone died on her side. She didn’t notice this earlier nang natalo laban kay Tom.

Nagliwanag ang mga mata ni Mia. “Wow, may paganito pala.”

A moment passed at bigla na lamang naging black ang screen ni Mia. She was about to panic when it reverted back to solo live streaming. Marahan siyang natawa sa pagkatarantang naramdaman.

[Ang cute talaga ng host, napakainosente kung umasta.]

[Kaya nga. Parang bata.]

[Dragon Clarinet, gusto mo candy? 🍭]

Kasabay ng pagbalik nito sa solo live streaming ay ang pagdating ng mga fans niya na kanina pa nanonood sa kanya.

“I’m more of a chocolate person,” Mia said innocently. “Para sa akin, ang tamis ng mga candy.”

Naaliw lalo ang mga lalaki sa kanyang sinaad. Sinasagot talaga nito ang mga sinasabi sa kanya kahit pa kalokohan o walang kabuluhan.

[Aww, sayang may tindahan pa naman kami ng candy.]

Mia’s eyes sparkled. “Talaga? Where is that?”

[Saka ko na sasabihin kapag payag ka ng makipagkita sa akin.]

She pouted her lips. “Sayang naman.”

[Don’t worry, I’ll send you chocolates kapag Valentine’s.]

[Anong brand ang favorite ng magandang host namin?]

[Bigyan kita kahit anong chocolate.]

[(2). Ano bang gusto mo, Miss Ganda? G ka na ba sa Toblerone o Cadbury?]

[Ako kahit ano ibibigay ko sa iyo. (Huwag lang ‘yong may coconut sa loob o kaya iyong lasang toothpaste.]

Mia’s eyes slightly widened from the comment. She laughed heartily at the disgusted reactions following the comment.

[Totoo. Kadiri amp*ta. Sino bang nag-imbento no’n?]

[Hindi ko ma-gets mga taong favorite iyon.]

Mia came to defend one of her beloved chocolate flavors. Her cute smile caught once again the heart of her viewers. “What do you mean kadiri? Masarap kaya! Pati na iyong mint flavor. Baka mayroon din sa inyong bashers ng mga may raisins, magsabi na!”

Some of the commentors dropped a disgusted or vomiting emojis. Hindi talaga mapigilan ni Mia ang matawa dahil sa reaksyon ng mga ito. “Ang OA ng mga ito.”

[Ang paborito ni Dragon Clarinet ay paborito ko na rin.]

[Sino may sabing kadiri ‘yan? Wala naman, sarap-sarap ng mga ‘yon.]

[Raisins? Yuck, tuyong ubas. Ang pangit-pangit kaya ng lasa no’n. Isipin mo, chocolate tapos may kahalong tuyong ubas?]

Mia frowned, her lips protruding from the hate comment. “It’s my fave chocolate. ‘Wag niyo laitin.”

[Kaya nga.]

[Padalhan kita ng mga gusto mo, Dragon Clarinet. Bigay mo lang address mo.]

[Strawberry Lover: I know you, guys, are just into something. Tsk. Tsk.]

Mia chuckled because of Strawberry Lover’s comment. “You’re too serious, SL. Hindi ko naman ibibigay address ko sa mga tao rito.”

She couldn’t see it, but she could hear him breathe out a sigh of relief. It was like he was an older brother to her in this platform.

[Strawberry Lover: That’s good to know. Many peeps here, you just don’t know what they can do to you. Kahit ako.]

Bago pa mapunta sa kung ano ang usapan, she reminded them about the PK that was just over. Sinabihan niyang ang mga ito na aalis muna siya sa live niya para puntahan si Bunny para mapanood ang gagawin nitong punishment.

“See you, fans, later. I’ll just hop into Bunny’s live! Byie!” She waved at them sweetily, like a child who does not want to leave, and as a compensation, blew them a kiss. “Balik kayo mamaya!”

She searched Bunny’s username based from what she can remember. Mabuti na lamang at madaling lumabas ang account nito at natagpuan niya na naka-live pa. Just as when she entered the chat, Strawberry Lover also hopped into it.

Bunny was chatting with her viewers habang pakanta-kanta. She has a nice voice, not as good as a professional singer, but it can sooth someone’s sadness.

Mia typed her message. [Hi, Bunny! I’m here!]

Upon seeing it, Bunny’s eyes sparkled. “Hey, you’re finally here! Mabuti naman. Kanina pa kita hinihintay.”

[Sorry, nagkwentuhan pa kasi kami ng mga manonood.]

“About saan?”

Hindi nawawala ang ngisi sa labi ni Mia. Para sa kanya ay nakakatuwa na kahit na may problema siya ay mga nakakausap siya sa kahit mababaw na bagay. [They’re hating on those weird flavored chocolates.]

One of the viewers from her live earlier also commented. [Kahit ikaw, weird tingin mo sa kanila.]

Ang bilis ng pagpindot niya sa screen. [Pero masarap naman lasa nila.]

Kinatok ni Bunny ang screen na siyang dahilan para ibalik ni Mia ang atensyon sa kanya. Nakakunot ang noo ito. “Pinapahirapan mo sarili mo mag-type. Pindutin mo ‘yong mic sa tabi ng chat. I’ll approve it, so you can talk directly, at para hindi ka na mag-type.”

She followed her instruction. Dahil nag-eenjoy siya sa kanila, naisipan niyang lumipat ng pwesto mula sa kusina papunta sa kanyang higaan. As Mia was living in a studio-type apartment, magkatabi lang ang kusina, dining, sala, at tanging partition lang ang mayroon para sa kanyang kwarto. Despite her having no job at all since college, her home was cozy and fine because of her parents’ support na sapat na lang nang nakaraan pang-cover ng rent niya.

“Hello, Bunny!” Puno ng energy ang boses nito. “Are you going to dance?”

Bunny crossed her arms in front of her chest, causing it to be more enhanced. Behind their phones, a lot were enjoying the good view. Hindi na sila tatanggi sa nakikita nila. Bunny also knew what she was doing. It was part of her tactics para dumami rin ang manonood at ang mga gift na ibibigay. Although it seemed bad for others, she did not care because it was only through online that they could see her, and they didn’t have the means to touch her physically.

“Sasayaw na ako,” aniya. “It’s unfair how you can gain their attention just by chatting to them. Ako, kailangan ko pa magpa-cute.”

Nag-inarte pa ito sa harap ng camera, pero na-cute-an lamang si Mia sa kanya. She was cheering Bunny as she did a cute rather than a sexy dance. Buong-buo ang suporta nito sa pagpalakpak mula umpisa hanggang matapos. May patango-tango pa ng ulo na nalalaman ang dalaga, sumasabay sa beat ng pinatugtog ng kaninang nakakumpitensya.

Bunny ended the dance with a bow. People in her live were commenting clap emojis samantalang malakas naman ang totoong palakpak ni Mia.

“Galing!” she exclaimed. “And now, for your punishment...”

Naputol ang kaligayahan ni Bunny. She listened to Clarinet with a surprised look. “What do you mean punishment? Hindi pa ba punishment ‘yong sayaw ko?”

Mia shrugged her shoulders though she cannot be seen. “Hindi. Wala naman ako sinabing punishment na ‘yon.”

Nagtawanan ang mga nanonood base sa kani-kanilang comment. Bunny, on the other hand, expressed her frustration. She slammed her butt on her rotating chair and placed her chin on her palm. “Loko ka. Akala ko ay ‘yon na ‘yon.”

Mia laughed at her own naughtiness.

[Ang inosente, pero nang-aasar din pala.]

[Crush kita, Dragon Clarinet.]

She enjoyed reading their replies. “For your punishment”—she cleared her throat—“makipagbato-bato-pick ka sa harap ng salamin.”

Bunny was about to agree. Too easy, she believed, when she realized that her punishment could go on for hours. She pointed at the camera, as if trying to aim for Mia. “You, silly girl!”

Tinawanan lamang siya ng dalaga. All the people fell in love more with Mia’s carefree behavior.

Bunny and Mia talked for a while before the latter decided to leave the first’s live streaming. Nag-start ulit siya ng sa kanya when she remembered something.

“May nakalimutan pala ako.”

[Strawberry Lover: Ano ‘yon?]

“I forgot to give her gifts.”

She was about to end her live when Tiny Avenger chatted.

[I sent her gifts on your behalf.]

“Oh,” was the first thing Mia could reply. “Thank you. Ang dami mo ng nabibigay sa akin.”

[No worries.]

An entrance effect disturbed Mia’s attention to what Tom said. It was Taylor Reed! The guy who helped Trojan Virus won the PK. The leader of their guild.

‘What is he doing here?’ Mia asked herself.

He has no reason to be here. He only joined earlier because of the PK with her guild mate, so how come he found her live again?
