CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

Selena's POV

Midnight came, and everyone left for their homes so it was just me, Raymond, Lily, and the guards that were left behind in the courtyard. Alpha was gone from the rooftop too and I felt kind of empty due to his absence no matter how I tried to control how I felt. I guessed I was going to keep on being this way as long as he was my mate because the bond alone was enough to make us feel things for each other.

His presence alone was enough to lift my mood throughout the night’s feast and the funny thing was, he wasn't even doing anything. He just sat there and stared back at me but I felt much more comfortable than I was beside Raymond.

It was at that moment that I knew that I was just confused about Raymond. He may have been the one that I had been dating and believing I loved but weirdly, the feelings I was beginning to grow for Alpha little by little felt more genuine and even though I was scared that he may end up rejecting me after all of this, I liked how I felt about
