Chapter 34 (We are followed)

Mara POV

"We are being followed" Damon said and I felt my hand go cold.

Damon held my hand, squeezing it a little and I felt comforted.

I looked back and I saw about three cars on our tail. The next thing that followed was a shot out.

They spray bullets on our car and Damon swayed to the left and right to avoid the bullet impact thereby increasing the speed.

"Head down" He ordered while I followed and he passed another route.

He increased the speed while the follower did not cease fire.

"They know that I am with a human.. because they won't come to me with guns" He said.

Just then we sighted a road block causing Damon to make a sharp halt.

"Stay in this car with your head down He said, coming out with a gun.

Damon POV

I came down from the car and bullets were shot at me and I was fast to dodge it.

Hitting one of the attackers.

"We got the wrong person," One of the men, who I suspected to be a vampire, said.

Then all of a sudden they all dropped their guns and attacked me.
