Anna
Weddings? I wasn’t much of a fan. But hearing that my mate was getting married to another woman made me sick to my stomach. I was stuck in bed ever since Stella told me this, crying my eyes out. Late nights, I would fantasize about Damon coming over and apologizing for rejecting me. But he never did. I never saw him after that. The good thing about being rejected was that I was no longer his slave. He had completely forgotten about me. Maybe it was because he was focused on his wedding ceremony. Today was the day. Two weeks after I had been rejected, and two weeks after Stella had broken the news to me. Damon was getting married to his childhood friend. She was his girlfriend since they were little, and I wondered why I thought my destiny of being his mate would be powerful enough to shatter that bond. It didn’t make any sense. Maybe I was just a loser. The door swung open and Stella stepped into the room. She was wearing an orange dress which had a slit from her right thigh down to her ankle. Her brown hair was wrapped up neatly into a bun and her tanned skin glowed in the late morning sun that bathed my room. She was staring at me in confusion. “Why aren’t you dressed yet?” She asked. I buried my face in the pillow avoiding her question. I heard her sigh before she walked up to me. Stella sat beside me and placed her hand on my shoulder. Her touch was warm. “Anna, you know it’s mandatory to be present at the Alpha’s wedding,” she said. I lifted my face from the pillow and looked at her. “I don’t care. I doubt that he remembers that I still exist,” I said. Stella cocked her head. “You’d be surprised.” I rolled my eyes and she chuckled. “I’m not going, Stella.” I was adamant about not leaving the room. I was tired of being treated like a nobody. I wanted to be myself and make my own rules. But I doubted it was possible in a place like this. “Come on, Anna. Don’t do this,” she urged. “I even bought you a dress.” My eyes lit up as I heard that. Her chuckle said it all. She wasn’t lying. “You bought me a dress?” She looked at me completely perplexed. “What else do you think was in the box at the dresser?” My eyes went to the dresser and I was surprised to see the box sitting there. It was weird that I hadn’t noticed it until now. My eyes were soaked with tears that I could barely see anything. It wasn't completely my fault. “Now get ready, we are going for the wedding.” *** Stella had successfully convinced me to go to the wedding. It was hard to believe that my mate was getting married to another woman. When the piano played the song “Here Comes the Bride” I didn’t bother to stand. I was focused on the altar where Damon stood impatiently. He was dressed in a black suit that matched his jet-black hair which was combed neatly. His lemon eyes were fixed on the aisle where Sophie was coming from. I couldn’t deny how gorgeous he looked. I felt like I had let an opportunity slip by letting another woman get married to the most gorgeous man I ever laid eyes on. And yes, that gorgeous man was my mate. Maybe I should have fought for what was mine. It was too late now. He was already getting married. After the song, everyone sat down and watched the couple exchange vows. I clenched my jaws and watched them as they professed their love for each other. I felt sick to my stomach. I understood why Damon didn’t want me. I could see the emotions in his eyes as he stared at his bride-to-be. After exchanging vows, they kissed each other and the crowd cheered. Sophie’s eyes searched the crowd, and when they met mine, she gave me a sinister smile. I could feel my blood boiling. My jaws clenched and I wanted to whack the smile out of her face so badly. But it was too late. She was officially Damon’s wife and the Luna of the pack. But the wedding was over, and I wanted to go home. As the couple walked through the aisle, Damon’s eyes met mine and he looked surprised as he saw me. Our gaze went on for longer than ten seconds. He was accessing me, his eyes complimenting my dress. I could feel my thighs tremble as his lemon eyes pierced through my soul. His eyes reminded me of what could have been mine. His alluring aura made it hard for me to hate him. He was mine. He was supposed to be. Damn you, Damon. And then in a second, his eyes peeled away from mine and the feeling was gone. I felt empty once again. Maybe I shouldn’t have come here. I should have stayed home and cried all day like I normally did. My life was officially over, and my mate had done the worst to me. But one thing was for certain; I still couldn't hate him.RohanI was getting sick of this place—the hospital. We had to check out all the members of the patrol team to make sure that they were not infected by the vampire that attacked us. There had been just one lost—Eric Simon. I didn’t know him, but I knew that he had a mate and a baby boy. She had rushed into the hospital as soon as she heard the news and had broken down in tears. It was so hard to watch her, especially after realizing that this was all my fault. I should have stopped the patrol team. I should’ve warned them against going out on patrol. There was no threat that he would attack us. The only thing that we had to worry about was the vampires, and they had attacked. At least one of them. I was certain that the vampire had been from the scouting team. They must have left him behind as a souvenir for us. I wasn’t sure of what they were planning anymore. The only thing I knew now was that they had taken interest in us once more. And their plan to wipe out the entire werewolf
DamonI knocked on the door as I stood on the porch of my childhood home. I didn’t like coming back here because of the recent memories I had, but after hearing from the old man about what was going to come there was no other choice. I had to talk to my father. It turns out that there were things he had hidden from me that morning. We talked about vampires in the cafe. If they were truly coming for us, then it was time I heard everything. The door swung open and my mother was revealed. I clenched my jaws as I saw her. She didn’t look pleased to see me either. I wondered how long this act was going to last. She had deprived me of something important. A child who could be my heir. And all in the name of what? Protecting a slave? It didn’t make any sense. But I wasn’t here to talk to her. “I don’t expect you to have come to your senses?” She asked, holding the door open for me. I scoffed and walked into the house. The air inside was warm and rich with the smell of spices. It seemed s
Rohan“I’m so sorry,” I said, rising from the table. Anna’s eyes were glued to me as she searched for answers she wasn’t going to get. “What’s wrong?” She asked. “Where are you going?” I shoved my phone back into my pocket in a hurry. I had to get there in time before something terrible happened to them. “I can’t tell you, but it’s urgent,” I said. “Thank you for the meal.”Stella smiled and my eyes drifted back to Anna who looked dissatisfied. “I have to go, Anna.”She nodded and I rushed out of the house. Time was running out. This was the time I needed Jarred most but he was lying in the hospital which was my fault. I would just have to do this with the patrol squad, and I wasn’t sure that they were strong enough to hold back the vampires. A question struck my mind as I drove through the dirt road heading towards the gates. Why would the vampires come back? Was it another trap? Leonardo had escaped and if he knew Cassian, he would tell him that I was coming. So the pack of va
RohanI slammed my fist against the door as the yellow bulb buzzed above me. It was dark now and the sound of the crickets filling the air irked me. I had no other place to go other than here. And here, it was like a ticking time bomb. With Jarred still in the hospital, I couldn’t stay with him. But he was going to be released tomorrow, and only then would I be able to stay with him. The door swung open and Stella appeared. Her eyes widened in shock as she stared at me. It was no surprise that I was here. This was the only other place I could go. And since I chose to explore the strange imprint between Anna and me, my wolf found it difficult to stay away from her. “A—Alpha,” she stuttered. “I can’t believe it.”“Can I come in?” I asked awkwardly, shoving both hands into my pockets. She nodded and I stepped into the house. The room was filled with the aroma of something sweet and fresh. I could smell spices coming from the kitchen and the sound of a steaming pot left me intrigued.
Rohan Home sweet Home. I stepped out of the Mustang slowly staring at the house that was bathed in the evening sunset. It had been quite a day and I was exhausted. The pain in my elbow stung aggressively, the stitches feeling like they were holding my soul in place. The wooden floor creaked beneath me as I stepped on the porch. I opened the door and got into the house. A sigh escaped my lips as I threw the car key on the center table and slumped on the couch. It was good to feel its smooth surface once more. It had been a long time since I sat on the couch. I was always in and out, busy with pack duties but also with the search for vampires. But now, the search was coming to an end because I was finally getting what I wanted. I had found the name of the vampire who had led the attack on us. His name was Cassian Arnholt. Soon, I would get his location, and then I was going to make sure that I destroyed him. That was the least I could do for what he had done to Rachel. I wa
DamonI was a bit hesitant to get into the house but I didn’t have any other choice. I was desperate for answers, and it plagued me like an illness. I stepped into the house and it smelled of rotting wood and the rancid smell of old age. How this man was able to live here without being noticed was a mystery to me. And who the hell was he? I had never seen him before. It looked like he had spent his whole life isolated from the pack. Maybe it was because he didn’t want to be seen. The old man walked with a cane as he directed us towards an old-looking table that looked like it could barely stand. He sat at the table with difficulty and urged us to sit with him. My gaze lingered on him suspiciously before I obeyed. When we sat down, I looked around the room. There was a small hearth at the other end of the room burning mildly. I could hear the crackles from the fire—soft and fragile. “I have to say I am surprised to have the Alpha at my table,” the man said leaning into the table.
