Chapter 4

Freya stands in front of Talon, looking down at him. I feel her purr deep in her chest. Talon just stares in pure shock. Freya takes another step closer to Talon, moving her snout to his head to sniff it. She slowly starts moving around him, whipping everything over around her and in her path. Barely enough room for her to stand in the room, let alone move around comfortably.

"Mate." I hear her growl. "Mine!"

I see Talons eyes turn dark with his wolf, then back to his dark blue.

"Nikkia shift back so we can talk." Talon says.

Freya growls, not willing to give up control.

"Please."

Freya growls louder and steps in front of him again, pushing him back against a wall. Baring her teeth at him, she bows her head and puts her face in front of his.

"Nikkia, take control of your wolf." Talon commands, no emotion on his face. "You need to have control."

Freya howls, not liking being told what to do. She stands, growling lowly In her chest, threatening a challange. I watch as Talons eyes go from black to blue as he fights off his wolf.

"Don't make me do it, Nikkia. I can only hold him off for so long."

"Freya, please. We don't need to do this. Not this time." I beg her. "Give me back control."

"I will not shift back, but you can have partial control." Freya growls, always being the stongest between us. She gives Talon another sniff, then lays down, cuddling up at his feet.

I look up at Talon, seeing him thrown off guard. He looks back at me with a small smile. Sitting down next to me and putting his hand in my fur.

"White wolves have never been seen before." He whispers. "How beautiful." He looks down at the black patch on my chest, running his hand through it. "The same color as my fur." Wonder filling his voice.

We sit in silence as he rubs my fur, his hand sending sparks up my skin where he touches.

"What an eventful day, huh." He chuckles. "I never thought I'd find my mate. What a blessing." He sighs as I glance up at him, a thoughtful look on his face. "It seems you are confused though, and need some stuff explained, and same here. No matter how much I already enjoy your wolf and her beautiful fur, I think we should really talk." Freya purrs to the compliments, pushing herself closer to Talon, squishing him against the wall in the process. He gasps, breathing for air, patting our side. "You're suffocating me, haha. You're bigger than you think."

I shift my body away from his, feeling the discontent from Freya. I huff in annoyance, wishing I was stronger than my wolf. I had kept her hidden and locked away most of my life. Only when I escaped did she finally get her full freedom, and giving it up is not something she wants. I stand, trying to stretch my huge body in this tiny room.

"I feel cramped, Freya. Can we please shift back."

I feel Freya give me back full control, and i shake off her feeling of anger towards me. I glance over at Talon. He's just been watching me with wonder, still sitting on the floor. I concentrate, and start to feel my bones shifting back into Human form. I fall to the floor in exhaustion. I feel a blanket drape over me, and my body being lifted off the floor. I glance up through half closed eye lids and see Talons worried face. He looks down at me, trying to give me a small smile.

"Don't worry, darling. Ill let you get some rest. I'm just putting you in my bed, I'll sleep on the couch." He moves his hand to my face, moving my hair out of the way.

I feel myself smile as I keep looking at him. I finally feel safe. Safe, I think. A word I hadn't felt the meaning of since my dad disappeare. My eyes close as sleep takes over.

I'm standing in a pond, like almost every night. It's dark, the moon casting the only light, shining down on the pond. I look ahead, wondering what will appear tonight. There's nothing. I glance around, hearing silence as always. There's a forest around the pond, with beautifully colored trees. From pink to the darkest of blues. This place has always felt magical, my dreams always bringing me here. I take a deep breath and sit in the water, crossing my legs. I take one last look around then close my eyes, breathing slowly, feeling the energy of the place I'm in. I had been looking for this place since I awoke in that forest, thinking it would have the answers. Never being able to find it, just trusting my instincts that I was going the right way.

I feel a presence and snap my eyes open, seeing a large black wolf with a white patch on his chest sitting in the other side of the pond, his body half submerged. He stares at me with black eyes as I stare at him. I feel like I know him, but I've never seen this wolf before. His presence drawing me to him. I try to stand, but I am weighed down by the water, not being able to move. My wolf calls to him, begging for him.

"What are you trying to tell me?" I look to the moon for answers, hoping for a hint at least once. I look back down and the wolf is gone. I huff in annoyance. I try to think what this means. Non of these dreams ever made sense, but I know the moon goddess was trying to tell me something. I just never knew what. I look back at the moon, hoping to find any answer at all. I start feeling myself being pulled back into deep sleep, and welcome it as I close my eyes.
