Chapter 5

I awake to voices whispering angrily in the living room. Light shining through the window, hurting my eyes. I roll over and stare at the ceiling, trying to listen in.

"No, you don't understand Kian. She was the biggest wolf I've ever seen, way bigger than my own, and im the biggest of all of us."

"You feeling threatened Talon?" Kian chuckles.

"No! Again, I'm not feeling threatened. You aren't understanding my worry. All of a sudden I finally find my mate, which is amazing. But I'm worried. What does this all mean? She shows up having been captured by a slave seller," He pauses, "which you took care of right?"

Kian laughs. "Oh yah. He won't be capturing and selling people anymore, don't worry about that."

"Good. Anyways. She shows up, the seller tells me she killed 5 of his men after them trying to capture her for 2 months. An impressive feat in itself. She's calm, collected, and by the time she gets to my room she starts losing control of her emotions or something and weird stuff starts happening. Her nails inbedd in my desk, I tell her wolves are alive and she burns a hole in her dress? Come on Kian. This isn't weird to you at all?"

I hear somebody sighing, and steps pacing the house.

"You're right. That is all really weird. You said she was a white wolf? When did you see her shift?" I hear the pacing stop.

"Well, she saw the men on the training grounds out my window and saw them shift, proving that I was indeed telling the truth that werewolves were not almost extinct. She kinda just lost it, man. I don't even know how to explain it. She shifted faster than I've ever seen. Her wolf was bigger than mine, which no one thought was possible. Pure white, with a black spot on her chest." I hear Talon take a deep breath before continuing. "Her wolf called me her mate through mindlink, which I've seen very few wolves be able to do unless they are of the same pack. She growled "mine" through the mindlink, and I felt my wolf submit to the mate bond as soon as he heard it. He left no room for rejection. What does this all mean, Kian?"

"I have no idea, Talon. I really don't. We need to ask the elders and see if they know anything. Also remember nobody had seen a black wolf in over 100 years before you came around either." I hear them moving closer to the room I'm in as they talk. "Are you saying you don't want her as your mate? That you would have rejected her?"

I hear the footsteps stop, and it goes quiet.

"No, I'm not saying that. I would never reject my mate. I trust the moon goddess. I just have never heard of somebody not being able to reject a mate bond. I'm already feeling drawn to her. I'm fighting to keep Percy from taking control and tearing that door down to mark her on the spot."

I hear the man named Kian laugh. "Well man, maybe she just blessed you extra good. Let me leave so you can wake your sleeping beauty and I'm going to go and talk to the elders. Meet me over there when you are ready. " Kian starts laughing again as I hear a door open and close.

I listen to footsteps approach my door followed by a small knock.

"Yes?" I ask.

"May I come in?" Talon asks, sounding almost nervous.

"Yes."

The door cracks open, Talon pokes his head in and looks around before opening the door completley. "Did you sleep good?" He asks.

I sit up, stretching my sore muscles. All my cuts and bruises have been healed by Freya, leaving me feeling better than i did last night. "Yes, I did. Thank you." I say, glancing at him. I look down and realize I am now wearing a huge shirt, my dress being torn when I shifted. I look back at him, my wolf purring with her own thoughts.

"I'm tried not to look, or touch. I promise. I threw everything through the shirt holes and that was it."

Talon walks to the bed, sitting on the end of it, looking at me. I glance around the room, finally taking in my surroundings. The beds in the middle of the floor, a big one at that, leaving not much more room for anything else. There was a window right behind the bed, letting the sunshine shine through. A door to both sides of me, and the door in front to leave the room. There's not really any decorations, just blank walls and only a side table next to the bed.

Talon laughs seeing me study his room. "Yah I don't really like pointless decorations and such. Never felt a need for them." He points to the left, "that door leads to the bathroom." Then he points to the right, "and that door goes to my closest which im sure you also won't be impressed by." A smile glued to his lips as he looks back at me. "You have really beautiful eyes. Green is my favorite color."

I feel myself blushing as I look away.

"Im sorry, i don't mean to be pushy." He stands up. " I bet your head is still swimming, and you have a lot of questions, most I'm sure i won't have all the answers to." He runs out of the room, then back in with a set of clothes in his hands. "I'm sorry about the attire last night, I honestly didn't have anything else on hand to give you." He unravels the clothes and hands me a t-shirt and some pants followed by a basic bra and panty set. "I hope these suit you better. You are free to shower and take as long as you like. When you are ready you can just come out and Ill have you something to eat ready." He gives me a big smile and goes to leave the room, "if you need anything just yell, okay?" Closing the door as soon as he finished speaking.

I stare at the door for a minute. Hes right, I'm very confused and have so many questions. Thinking back to last night, I remember me losing control of my emotions and start feeling embarrassed and panicked. What if that happens again? What if I can't keep Freya in control?

"I will stay calm, I promise." Freya states, making me calm down a little. "I will only take control if I feel the need, so do not worry." I take a deep breath, trusting her completley. I throw the blanket off and stand up slowly. I make my way to the door to the left and open it to find a very pretty, but simple bathroom. I find a clean towel under the sink and put it on the towel rack. I strip out of the shirt, noticing I have no underwear on. I feel my face blush. I turn to the shower, turning it on, letting it warm before I step in. I start by washing my hair, using the products I found in the shower, then scrubbing my body clean. I stand under the water, letting it run over my body. My elders taught us that we were the last remaining wolves. We were hunted to near extinction over 200 years ago. They glued this in my head. Humans felt threatened by us and decided they needed to take action. We went and hid in a undiscovered forest, using our magic to build invisible barriers so nobody could get in. "And nobody could get out. " Freya adds to my thoughts. My grandfather was the last Alpha of our pack before we went into hiding. In our history it's said that he fought everybody off while the rest of the pack got away to find safety, taking along his newborn son and Mate with them. My grandmother passed before I was born due to grief, but I've been told she was a very remarkable lady.

A door closing makes me jump, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turn off the shower and grab the towel, drying off as I step out. I grab the clothes he gave me, enjoying these ones a lot more already. I throw them on, enjoying the clean casual clothes. I look in the mirror, seeing the red dye from my hair fading away to leave my bright white hair showing. I grab my hair and tie it up in a bun, trying to hide the white showing through. My fathers words echoing in my head yet again, and yet I had let Talon see my wolf.

"He is our mate. You will not keep me from him." Freya snarls. "The moon goddess has blessed us. We accept the blessing. We will not keep anything from our fated mate."

I hear a knock the bedroom door.

"You okay in there? My wolf's just feeling worried. " Talon says through the door.

"Yah, I'll be out in just a minute." Putting what Freya said to the back of my mind,I look back at the mirror, seeing how slim my face and body have gotten from being malnourished. I sigh, looking at my eyes. My emerald green eyes look back at me. I see the black bags under my eyes from so many sleepless nights. I look away, disgusted at how I've ended up.

I step out of the bathroom and go to the bedroom door. Opening it, I stand face to face with Talon and he jumps back.

"Oh um, hey. I'm sorry. It was just quite in there. It was making me worried. " He runs a hand through his hair looking at me. "I did make you some breakfast though. I hope you like pancakes." He turns around and walks down the hallway into a dining room, looking back to wave me to follow. I walk down the hallway to the room hes waiting in, seeing a huge table with chairs all around it and a plate at one end of the table. I follow him to the seat, as he pulls it out for me with he biggest smile. "Sit, eat. I really hope you like it."

I sit down and look at the things on the plate. "What are pancakes?" I ask. Poking them with my fork.

Talon looks at me shocked. "What? You've never had pancakes. They are really good, just try them."

I take a look at them again, cutting a bite off. I bring it to my mouth, looking back at him while he nodds eagerly. I sigh and take the bite, giggling when I taste it. "These are really good!" I say, grabbing another bite. I eat them all, chasing them with the juice next to my plate. Satisfied, I lean back in the chair, finally noticing Talon watching me. i think back to what Freya said, then I think back to what I heard this morning.

"I heard you talking to that guy Kian this morning." I say, standing to stretch.

Talon just looks at me surprised, then realization dawns and I see his face drop. "I'm sorry if what i said made you feel uncomfortable, or unwelcome." He whispers, looking down at the table. "Just so much new has happened in the past day that I'm just worried for what it could mean."

I smile at him, understanding. "I feel the same. I have a lot of questions I need answered. Do not worry though, it did not make me feel bad in anyway. My wolf is pushing me just as hard. " I watch his eyes flash between black and blue, seeing him fighting for control. His body thick and toned, I could see his muscles rippling underneath, his wolf fighting to get out. I hear him growl hungrily. Snapping my eyes back up to his, I see his eyes turn back to blue.

"My eyes are up here, Missy." Laughing, he continues. "You gotta be careful. I only have so much control."

I giggle, loving how cute his laugh is. "I'm sorry. Ill keep my eyes where they are supposed to be. " laughing, I point from my eyes to his.

Chuckling, he stands up and starts walking to the door. "Well come on, let's go and figure this all out." He holds out his hand to me, and I grab it, my wolf purring in delight.

"Okay, let's go."
