Chapter 6

We make our way out of the house, following the stair case back down to the first floor. I take it all in again, not filled with fear this time. It really is a wonderfully crafted house.

I feel a squeeze on my hand, pulling me out of my thoughts. I look over to Talon smiling at me, making me smile back.

"Do you like what you see? My ancestors built it and we have been adding onto it since. It just keeps getting bigger." Talon laughs, pushing open the front doors to take us outside. "This is the Alpha and Lunas house. We then have room for our gamma, our beta, and some omegas that help cook and clean. We usually host every event that we have here too since it's big enough to fit everybody."

I smile at him, "I love it. I've never seen anything like it. We kept everything small."  The sun shines in my face as the doors open, making me cover my eyes.

Talon leads me down the stairs. I uncover my eyes to such a beautiful village. When I was brought in my eyes had been covered, so I missed it all. I stare in awe at all the different sizes of houses, from small to large, all unique in their own way. Forestry surrounds the village, adding in wonderful scents and animal songs. I take a deep breath, taking in the smell of lavender. Freya purring in delight to the beauty of the nature.

Talon pulls me in front of him so I'm facing him, showing all his straight white teeth in his smile. "I"m glad you love it so much. I have so much more to show you if you like all this." Talon laughs and takes off in a run down the road, attempting to leave me in the dust. I take off running, laughing as I start to catch up with him. All of a sudden he takes a left and barely disappears before I round the bend.

As I round the bend, I feel arms wrap around me, instincts kicking in naturally as I drop out of the arms about to incase me. I spin around with a loud growl, crouching low, ready for anything.

Talon stands there looking at me shocked, arms still hanging in the air. I stand out of my crouch, breathing out a sigh of relief. "Don't scare me like that."

Talon starts laughing. "Okay, okay. I won't do that again." He stops laughing, "let's go meet with the elders. It's going to be this way." Talon points straight ahead as he begins walking in that direction.

I follow along, taking in how big this village is. "There must be so many people here."

"Yes, actually. This is the biggest pack that we know of. The next biggest doesn't even compare."

"How many packs are there? This isn't the only one?" Excitement bubbling out as I stop to look at him.

"Haha, yeah of course theres other packs. We have about 5 in this region, how many others we are not sure yet."

I wonder if my pack had known about this. They never let us out of our own village, enforcing the rule of staying hidden. So many years my pack had stayed hidden for nothing. I stop as I feel Talon stopping next to me. I look up and see an elegant bulding, taller than the rest, but not much bigger.

"This is the House of the Elders. This was one of the first buldings that our village built when we settled down here." Pride for his pack stems out of his voice as Talon mentions his pack. "The elders can tell you more, so lets go in." Talon looks down at me, "Are you scared?"

I look at him, am I scared? I havn't felt scared the whole morning. It all just felt right. "It's the mate bond. You're with the one that will always keep you safe." Freya speaks into my head.

I smile. "No, I'm not scared. I Just have a lot of questions."

"Let's go get some answer then." Talon grabs my hand and opens the door, leading me inside.
