Chapter 8

Talia

Adina was at the park visiting with her father. He has been doing great. Since that night he has regretted hurting me. He was playing tag with Adina and her friends. “You ready for that meeting tomorrow?” Jack asked me. I looked over at him and smiled.

“My wolf has been antsy all week. I’m not sure why, but hopefully we can finally connect this case to Turner and Dillan. I need them off the planet.” He chuckles and whistles to Enzo for a check in. We hear a whistle back and everything is okay.

I love watching them play. Reminds me of when dad, mom and us would play. I’m glad we were able to work things out so he can see her. I look at my phone and see that Luna Mira has messaged me.

LM: “Your brother is on my last nerve. Get him away from me!”

Me: “Awe. What’s wrong tired of the dick? I’ll take you. ‘Smile emoji.’”

LM: “HAHA! He wants another pup! I told him no more.”

Me: “ EW. Tell him to wrap it up in some dirt to find his release. He would totally understand. Haha.”

LM: ‘Laughing on floor emoji’ Hey, did you get that folder I put on your desk yesterday or were you to busy with Enzo? Oh! How was that?

Me: “Yes, I did but I hadn’t looked at it yet. Who did you say it was from again? Also, we had lunch and that was it!”

LM: “Sure, sure. He smelt like you when he came into your brothers office and I was finishing up. You think it’ll ever be more?”

I chuckle and look up to see that Adina and her friends were playing and Shane was watching from a distance. He must have gotten tired. Humans don’t last long with play like wolves do. We can play all day. Humans need breaks. I just explain to him that she is growing and she will have a ton of energy.

Me: “I’ll look at that folder after Adina goes to bed tonight. Tell Thallium I said he’s too old for more pups! Should have started sooner.”

I love my sister in mate. She is the best thing to happen to my brother. I don’t know why someone sent a folder to her when it said it was for me. That is the strangest thing to happen.

Jack whistled to indicate it was time to leave. We said our goodbyes and Taim took us to our respectful homes.

“Mom I had so much fun with daddy! Did you know that he has a girlfriend and she wants to see us? She wants to meet us the next weekend.” Adina says bouncing around. Shane bought her lunch and some candy, so she is bouncing around like a mad kid.

“Really? How nice. I hope they are happy together. What do you want for dinner?” I go to the fridge to look. “ Oh miss, if you don’t mind, I want to cook for you two tonight.” Taim says coming around the corner. I back away and let him have his way with the kitchen. He is always cooking foods from the middle east. I go over to Adina, and we play UNO until it is time to eat.

After Adina went to bed, I pulled out the folder the Luna was eager for me to get. The folder on it says important, to Talia Everest, then it says give to the Luna first. So, odd. I message the Luna,

Me: “Hey, that folder, had you seen it?”

I examine it some more and turn it over. On the back it had a wolf print of a pup and the initials T.E. Hmm are those mine or my brothers. I hear a ding from my phone, and I go to see who it was.

LM: No, I thought it was odd that it said to give to me first and then you to. If it was something related to the stuff you do for Thallium I didn’t want to see it. Thallium just said to give it to you. So, I did. Why what’s in it.

Me: I guess I’m about to find out. I’m going to go in the woods in case it is a bomb again though. Some things never leave you.

Yes, someone sent me a bomb mail and that was my 20th time dying. I’m not going through that again, if I don’t have to. Also, this time, I am home. My baby and Taim will not get hurt or die because of me.

I take the folder and leave my phone. Running as fast and carefully I get out of the pack border and go into the stream. That way if I do blow up at least most of me would be easier for Soteria to heal. ‘I don’t think it’s a bomb, but good idea to stay safe. I’m ready to bring you back if I need to Tal.’ I love my wolf, always has my back even when she is a pain.

I slowly remove the tape that was holding the folder closed. Then I open the folder. I wasn’t expecting to find this inside the folder. Who got this close to doing this? Why did someone do this? How were they able to do this and not be seen? How many people have seen this already?

Instead of running home, I ran to Enzo. I know he would be able to help and figure out who this is. No outside mail came in yesterday, so Enzo was right. We do have a traitor inside this pack. No one will hurt pup!
