CHAPTER SIXTEEN

The rest of the day flew by, my interview over and I had a talk with Robert over the phone making plans to spend the day with Levi tomorrow. I needed fresh air, I felt like I was suffocating.

I quickly left my room with my keys and phone in my hand, walking over to a secluded garden that I had found behind the academy a month ago. I sat on the bench and let my thoughts flow free as I tilted my head and observed the stars.

I was eight.

"Mom, mom! Look at what I found", I screamed while running towards the kitchen with my dad chasing me from behind.

It was a Sunday, they always took today off. It was family time. I was helping my dad clean when I found it- their wedding album. Dad said it was one of the happiest days in his life. The other happiest day was when I was born.

I entered the kitchen to find my mom in her own world dancing to her favourite song - Can't take my eyes off you by Frank Sinatra whilst baking red velvet cupcakes. Now those were my favourite.
