Kenneth’s POV

She moved slowly, but the tension in her shoulders gave her away. Every step was careful, controlled, yet something fierce burned beneath it.

I felt the bond pulse under my skin. Stronger than it should have been this early. My fists clenched without thought. She was growing faster than I had anticipated.

Magic and wolf energy twisted together beneath her skin. It looked like lightning trapped inside something that refused to break.

She needed control. Not interference.

Crystal's POV The sun was higher now, baking the training grounds in a soft, golden light. My legs ached, but I forced myself to keep moving, each step deliberate. I stretched, testing the limits of my recovery. My muscles protested, a steady reminder that I wasn’t as strong as I pretended. The air smelled different here, fresh, alive, and oddly intoxicating with the scent of wolf and earth. Clothes had been laid out, ready and waiting for me. After my bath, I got dressed and went to the grounds. He was there again. Watching, as always. His posture was calm, but his gaze was sharp and piercing. I tried to ignore him, but I could feel him. I felt the bond beneath my skin, faint at first, then insistent, like a pulse I couldn’t escape. My wolf leaned forward, restless, sensing him even when my mind tried to deny it. I tightened my fists. Focus. He stepped closer, silent, almost ghostlike. I could feel him measuring me, every movement controlled and deliberate. “You shouldn’t be o

Crystal's POVI didn’t look at him again after that. But I felt him.The bond didn’t settle, not even when we put space between us. It hummed beneath my skin, restless and aware, like it had a life of its own.By the time I returned to the room, my body was exhausted. Not just from the walk but from everything else. The silence closed in around me. And for once, I didn’t fight it. I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at nothing. My thoughts refused to stay still, spinning in every direction at once. His touch lingered. That was the problem.I could still feel where his hand had been on my waist. The warmth hadn’t faded, and I hated that it hadn’t. My wolf didn’t hate it. She leaned into it, curling under my ribs like she wanted more.Mine.The word came again, quieter but stronger. It settled deeper this time, like it was becoming part of me whether I wanted it or not. I clenched my jaw.I didn’t accept it. There was a knock at the door. I didn’t answer immediately, afraid that even

It looked like lightning trapped inside something that refused to break. She needed control. Not interference. My wolf growled low, restless. He didn’t like the distance between us.I understood the girl in front of me more than she would ever accept. Fear, caution, defiance, they all lived in the way she carried herself. She was alive. Unbroken. And she didn’t need me to fix her. That was exactly why I couldn’t look away.Every instinct in me pushed forward. Guide her, steady her, keep her safe. I forced it down. Not yet.Patience had always been my strength. But she tested it without even trying.I could feel h

  • The Hybrid’s Fate   Chapter 7

Crystal's POV The next morning came slowly. Pain greeted me the moment I opened my eyes.I sat up carefully, muscles tightening in protest. My wolf stirred, not weak but cautious, holding me back from pushing too far.A soft knock sounded at the door. “Are you awake?” Stella’s voice followed.“Yes,” I replied, quieter than usual. My voice felt like it belonged to someone still recovering. She stepped in, carrying a tray. The scent of food reached me instantly, and my stomach tightened in response.“You need strength,” she said, setting it down. Her tone was gentle, but firm enough that I didn’t argue.I eyed the tray for a moment. Suspicion lingered, even now.“No poison?” I asked. My gaze lifted to meet hers, sharp and testing. She smiled faintly. “If we wanted to hurt you, we wouldn’t bother feeding you first.”Fair point. Still, I didn’t drop my guard.I ate slowly, watching her the entire time. She didn’t rush me or question me, just stood there with quiet patience. It was stran

  • The Hybrid’s Fate   Chapter 6

Crystal's POVWarmth was the first thing I felt. Soft, safe, wrong. My eyes snapped open and I sat up instantly, my body reacting before my mind caught up. My wolf surged forward in alarm, claws scraping against my control. The room around me was unfamiliar, too clean, too quiet, too peaceful. I was not in the desert anymore, and that alone felt like a threat.Panic flickered in my chest as I scanned every corner, every shadow. My senses stretched outward, searching for danger, for an exit, for anything familiar. The door opened.I tensed immediately, every muscle locking as if preparing for a fight. He stepped inside, and the air shifted. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. He was tall, towering, his presence filling the room before he even moved. Broad shoulders, a sharp jawline, and piercing golden eyes made him look less like a man and more like something built to dominate. My gaze lingered a second too long, tracing the tension in his stance and the quiet strength in the way h

  • The Hybrid’s Fate   Chapter 5

Crystal's POV The forest didn’t feel like a prison. It felt like a place to prove myself. The wind brushed my skin as I moved forward. My senses were sharper than ever. I felt every sound, every smell, every change in the air.Hunger hit me suddenly. I hadn’t eaten, I crouched low and sniffed the air. A low growl broke the stillness.I froze. My wolf stilled. Danger. Something in the shadows shifted. And then it stepped out.A vampire! It moved slowly at me, not rushing, not attacking immediately. Its pale eyes locked onto mine, not with hunger but with interest. That made my stomach twist. “Well,” it said softly, voice cold and smooth. “So it’s true.”I didn’t respond, but my wolf growled, uneasy. It knows something. The vampire took a step closer, studying me like I was something rare. “You don’t smell right,” it said. “Not just wolf, not just magic.”My chest tightened. It wasn't a guess. It knew.Fear tried to rise, but I forced it down. I wouldn’t show weakness. Not again. “Wha
