Now that the fight was over Vevina felt her adrenaline crash and with some difficulty she pushed Jeivel’s body off her. She had been so less bothered by it that she didn't even glance at it as she stood up to look at Alastor who was smiling at her even though his eyes were unable to hide his worry.

‘Should I bring you to the pack doctor? It must be paining too much,’ he said into her mind, unable to keep his fretting to himself even though to the world he seemed like a proud mate appreciating and trusting her completely.

‘Thank you for trusting me,’ she said, making Alastor’s eyes narrow at her gratitude. She knew what that look meant. It meant that she didn’t need to ever thank him for anything. She knew that but she still was thankful to him. How couldn’t she be?
