Chapter 45: Hoax

“Though it usually isn’t the case but there are times when Alphas can be wrong about the pregnancy of their mate so it is always better to get a checkup,” Alastor said as the two sat outside the pack doctor’s office waiting for her to call them inside.

When she had heard Alastor say this last night she had desperately wished for it to be true, she wished that she was not pregnant and that it had all been a misunderstanding. She didn’t think she could ever be a mother.

While she didn't want this baby she could see that Alastor really wanted it. The whole of last night she had found it difficult to sleep while Alastor had hugged her to himself and had kept a protective hand over her stomach. Even the way he was stealing glances at her flat tummy when he thought she wasn’t seeing him was making her sad.

He looked like he really wanted her to have a baby.

She wondered what he would do if she denied having one.
