Chapter Eight

Before even Chelsea who was busy working on one of her projects could answer, Karen stepped in speedly while panting like a horse in the matching race.

"Johnson...Johnson..."

"Will you speak up or remain silent Karen," Chester alarmed in a dangerous tone while looking straight in her grey eyes.

"Johnson street is on fire," Karen finaly found her words, "your machines are causing confusion the whole place."

"What do you mean the whole street is on fire and my machines have caused whole havoc," Chelsea asked in a confused manner while looking at her brother whose attention have been caught by what Karen was explaining.

"One of the robots had just taken a lad across the road when it stopped still in the middle of the railway line, an oncoming train passed over it making the other robots around to retaliate to the incident, to me it seems it had developed some mechanical problem."

"You can see for yourself," Chester final spoke up while looking at her sister.

"How could that be Karen...it can't be," Chelsea didn't agree with what Karen was informing them.

She walked to one of the corners which had a big screen which seemed to be a way she used to monitor everything in Gordon city and clicked on the street which she had been told, she saw firing allover the place and missiles being fired by the robots uncontrollably. She shook her head head after seeing many of the civilian victim who have been wounded but were still struggling to fight back the machines which seemed to have overpowered them already.

"But they are programmed robots!" Chelsea exclaimed while looking at her partners in disbelief, "how could this happen and who will pay for whole this damage!"

"Those are machines Chelsea and they don't reason, they follow what they have been programmed to do," Chester spoke back to her after some few seconds of silence has passed.

Chelsea left for another room and came back carrying another file which seemed to have filed all the details about the robot that was leading the batterlion of other machines against attacking other humans.

"Miss Chelsea, you have to do something before it gets too late!" Karen informed her in an alarmed voice.

"Can't you see I am trying to figure out what might be wrong with machine number 79," Chelsea responded back to her in a dissatisfied manner while perusing through the files rushly, "it can't be so..."

"What is it Chelsea!" Chester asked her after realizing the astonishing look on her face.

"Machine 79 was Programmed to defend all other minor robots without receiving any orders from anyone, it acts when it thinks it has to!"

"Machines don't think Chelsea as I have told you earlier, maybe it was programmed to retaliate at any slight mistake."

"But that's not how I always make my machines!"

As they were still talking about the making of the machines, they heard a loud bang which made the whole place to shake vigorously, then it was followed by a big silence, when they looked outside afterwards, they saw a gigantic cloud of smoke covering the whole place where the battle has been taking place.
