He smelled strongly of pine and cedar, a faint trace of booze around him. She could feel the eyes of everyone on them, but it was as if they were in another world as she stared up into this man’s blue eyes. She whispered, just for him to hear, “What’s your name?” Before he answered, her father’s voice broke the tension in the room. “Unacceptable! You must reject him, Rebekah! Do you really want to be mated to this criminal? You’re meant to be a Luna and he’s an omega!” At her father’s words, a growl escaped both her and the man. She stepped back from him, holding a hand to her mouth. The man looked at her, a questioning glance in his eyes, probably in confusion to her growl.
