Acceptance

Miler climbs the stairs first and starts unlocking the door. Daniel stands next, on the 2nd step and looks at me with a puzzled expression trying to figure out what was happening to us. Jessica held my left palm trapped in her right arm like; if she left, it i'd run away. My mind was going dark and darker as milliseconds passed. 

"Oh, my kids are home. Welcome shining stars" a voice comes from in as Miler walks into the house.

"Hey old man" he says and disappears from my sight after changing his shoes. 

Daniel takes a quick glance of me with a tiny smile and enters next "Welcome home homie". 

I push Jessica to get in next, she nods whispering "Sis, no matter what happens in there, remember you've got me." looking deep into my eyes. I felt her words reach deep into my soul. I nod and she goes in. The entire scene resembled a public-speaking contest and I was on nerves while the other three were cool. I shake my head.
