LOGINNo part of me wanted to come to the Silver Moon Pack today, but I knew I needed to in order for us to discuss any issues they were having that I could possibly help out with. With the current alpha planning on stepping down soon, me being the Head Alpha meant I needed to lend my support anywhere they needed it.
Alpha David was not a bad alpha by any means, but he was worried about stepping down and letting his oldest daughter's mate take over. I couldn’t blame him though. I had met Olive’s mate, Stephen, earlier and immediately got a bad vibe from him. Unfortunately, Alpha David didn’t have any sons so his only option was Stephen since his other two daughters were either too young or hadn’t found their mate yet.
I could tell Alpha David was hoping his middle daughter, Gretchen, would be my mate but thankfully the Goddess was still looking out for me even though at twenty-five, I had yet to meet the one woman made for me.
Storm, my wolf, whimpered in my head, upset over the fact we hadn’t met her yet.
“Trust me Storm, I can’t wait to meet her either.”
I was in the packhouse's formal dining room surrounded by the Alphas family along with their Beta and Gammas families just having small talk until dinner began. After dinner, I planned on approaching David right away to get this meeting along so I could return home as soon as possible.
I was trying my best to listen to Alpha David and Beta Silas tell me a story when I felt a shiver run up the length of my spine followed by a strong presence. I turned and looked down, only to meet the most stunning ice blue eyes I had ever seen. I was mesmerized, the rest of the room fading away into nothing as I drowned in a sea of crystal ice.
I scanned the rest of her face, feeling my breath hitch as I took her all in. Her hair was the color of night; long and silky smooth with the same colored lashes surrounding those eyes I couldn’t look away from. She was beautiful with her heart shaped face, full lips, high cheekbones, and creamy skin.
The sound of Alpha David clearing his throat broke us from our trance. He probably thought the omega was bothering me when the truth was, I couldn’t stop myself from staring. I heard her soft voice ask me if I wanted the champagne and I took it but not before lightly grazing my hand against hers. My breath got caught in my throat when I felt light tingles spread across my hand. She tensed like she felt it as well before turning on her heels and quickly walking back to the door she came through.
“Storm, is she our mate?” I asked my wolf.
“I don’t know,” he replied sadly. “I didn’t sense a wolf in her.”
My shoulders sagged at the realization. The girl looked to be around eighteen years old and if she didn’t have a wolf yet, she probably would remain wolfless for the rest of her life. Plus, I was a very strong alpha so the chances of me being paired up with an omega were slim to none. But no matter how much I tried to tell myself she wasn’t mine, I couldn’t stop thinking about her and picturing her blue eyes every time I closed mine.
“Sorry about that Alpha Xander, Ray is one of our more awkward omegas considering she doesn’t have a wolf.” said David.
“Has she never had a wolf or did something happen to it?” I asked, wanting to know more about the omega he just called Ray.
“As far as we know, she’s never had one. She came here about ten years ago without any parents stating they were killed in a rogue attack and she had nowhere else to go. We planned to just take her in until her wolf surfaced but it never did so we just let her stay here. She’s been working in the pack house ever since.”
I nodded my head, not wanting to ask any more about her and give anyone the idea that I was interested in her. Dinner started shortly after and to my disappointment, Ray didn’t make another appearance the remainder of the night.
Storm was also upset from not seeing her and I knew I couldn’t just leave this territory without knowing more about her. Instead of hopping into discussions after dinner like I had originally planned, I asked for us to meet tomorrow morning, stating that having the whole day for discussions was necessary. Alpha David was kind enough to give a room to myself and the group of warriors I brought with me.
Of course, he had Gretchen show us to our rooms. The female wasn’t bad looking with her strawberry blonde hair and green eyes, but ever since seeing Ray, I was having a hard time finding any female attractive.
“Here is your room Alpha. My room is just on the next floor if you need anything.” purred Gretchen in a soft voice I’m sure she was using to try to seduce me. Being the Head Alpha, I’d heard that tone of voice one too many times.
“Thank you. I will just retire for the night then.”
I opened the door without another look at her and walked into the room assigned to me. She was still standing by the opening when I shut the door in her face. I had no interest in her and even if I was willing to take a chosen mate, she would never be an option.
I walked further into the room assigned to me and threw my duffle on a chair in the sitting area. The room itself was plain but would work for the one night I agreed to stay. I decided to take a shower to help relax myself since I was feeling so tense about staying overnight in another pack while being so far away from my own.
I knew my Beta could handle anything if something were to come up but it still didn’t stop myself from craving the peace and serenity that being in my own pack brought me.
After my shower I retired to bed but no matter how hard I tried to close my eyes and fall asleep, I couldn’t. Storm and I both were feeling restless so I put sweatpants on and made my way downstairs to go outside.
As soon as I stepped foot out in the open air, I felt better. The scent of the forest mixed with the light rain coming down eased the tension from my shoulders. No longer did I feel trapped and claustrophobic in that room. I ran to the forest line before stripping my clothes and let Storm take over into his wolf form.
We were running in the forest when I suddenly caught a whiff of the most amazing scent I had ever smelled. It reminded me of the forest after a fresh rain mixed with just a hint of honey, calling to my soul in a way nothing ever had before. I found myself salivating over it and Storm immediately started heading in the direction the scent was coming from.
“I think I smell our mate.”
Our steps were loud in the otherwise silent hallway, except for the continuing sound of chains knocking against each other. Raina was practically giddy, a cute little pep in her step and I wished she’d tell me what she knew. Every time I’d look over at her, she’d flash me a smirk and shake her head.My mate was such a weirdo sometimes.Darren was completely quiet, not unlike him, but this silence was heavy. His head was pointed at the ground and the tension in his shoulders was only growing with each step closer to the cell.We stopped in front of the cell and all the air escaped my lungs as I peered inside to the man sitting on the dingy floor, his wrists and ankles in shackles, and chin tilted up like he didn’t have a care in the world. That confidence dimmed once he saw Raina and me. Especially Raina.“Byron,” she drawled. “How lovely to see you.” She placed a finger on her chin, her head cocked to the side. “I must say, the shackles really do suit you. This is like something out o
When I opened my eyes again, we were back on earth. The familiar scent of dirt and the rustling of leaves welcomed us back with open arms. My hand was still clasped with Raina’s and I looked down at her peering out at the familiar landscape.“Did that really just happen?”“Yes, love. It did.”She exhaled a heavy breath. “Fuck.”We were both naked, our decadent clothes had stayed behind in the Moon Realm, and all I wanted was to run my eyes over every inch of her. Then my hands. My mouth. My tongue. She was gazing up at me with heat filled eyes and I felt my cock twitch. I was just about to yank her into my arms when I felt pressure in my skull from someone trying to get through my shut down mindlink.I opened it up and was hit with Darren’s panicked voice.“Alpha! I’ve been trying to reach you for hours. I couldn’t even connect with you.”Shit. It felt like we’d only been in the Moon Realm for maybe thirty minutes. Not hours.“Uh… sorry about that. What’s going on?” I didn’t really ha
Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, her voice soft yet holding a strength I’d only dreamed of.“My special wolf.”She became blurry as my eyes filled with tears.“My Goddess.”She smiled, her full lips pulling to reveal perfect, white teeth. She was unbelievably beautiful. She turned that smile to Xander as she said, “My strong Head Alpha.”He dipped his head in respect. “It is lovely to meet you, my Goddess.”Selene looked at the two of us, hand in hand, and her smile became brighter. “I am so delighted you two finally found each other. You both deserve to be happy in the face of what life has dealt you.”Xander and I looked at each other, knowing happiness was only one small way to describe how we felt. Our bond was everything we didn’t know we needed but now couldn’t live without.“Thank you for our bond,” spoke Xander, his gray eyes filled with the utmost amount of love. “It is the best gift I’ve ever been blessed with.”Selene ran a hand along her wolf's back, her fingers tangling in
I had no idea how we got here or what we could possibly be doing on the fucking moon but the beauty of it was taking up too much of my mind for me to worry about anything else. It was ethereal, so eerily silent but so damn incredible.I looked up at Xander, our hands still clasped together, and watched as he took everything in. We were both looking around with our eyes wide in awe and mouths open. At first, I assumed it was another vision but this felt way too real for it to be anything but.Being able to see earth and other planets from where we were standing felt… weird.Unnatural. Unbelievable. Then I thought… are we dead? It’s said that our souls return to the moon to be reunited with our goddess but I couldn’t imagine the two of us biting the dust just because our wolves marked each other.No. Something was going on here that was completely out of our hands and we were just along for the ride.“What should we do?”I didn’t have a chance to respond before a shimmering veil appeare
Storm and Weather’s heavy breathing was the only sound in the clearing, everything else had quieted down. They didn’t hold anything back so I’m sure they scared all the animals away for miles. The both of them seemed very pleased with themselves. The knot slowly went down until they were able to be separated and Weather wasted no time turning around, her teeth sinking into Storm’s neck as he sunk his into hers.A buzzing started at our paws and slowly climbed to every inch of our body, my insides feeling like they were touched by a livewire but there was no pain. It was warm and fuzzy and had all my fur standing at attention.Their teeth stayed locked in each other and I watched as tiny bolts of lightning encased our joined bodies. A swift wind picked up around us, blowing in a tight circle, forming a wide tornado that we were right in the middle of. “What is happening?” I asked.“I don’t know,” whispered Raina, her voice filled with awe.A ringing sounded in my ears as the lightning
I had no idea what Raina had planned for us tonight but I was buzzing with excitement as I followed her through the woods. We only had two more days before we were scheduled to leave and being able to spend tonight with her was a breath of fresh air. While we’ve been together nonstop over the last few days, we were always surrounded by others either during training or war planning. I was really looking forward to spending the evening with her and only her.An evening that wasn’t just us sleeping. The constant training had us both beyond exhausted every night, leaving us too tired to do anything physical or even talk before falling asleep. We needed this time together before hell broke loose and our future was uncertain.I loved the feeling of the earth beneath my paws and the wind blowing through my fur. The nights were starting to get a bite to them as we descended into autumn but wolves were made for the cold. It felt amazing after a day of sweating under the sun.I eventually reali
