Masuk"I'm saying we should find another means to suppress the effect of the blood moon before it arrives and before we find the missing halo. We can't just sit and wait here for the blood moon to catch us by surprise," Alpha Makien, one of the strongest Alphas in the country, suggested during the annual Alphas meeting.
Dylan sat at the head of the table, perfectly impersonating Leonardo, his brows furrowed together in irritation while his eyes flickered to his phone every few seconds expectantly. He had been forced to attend the Alphas' meeting in Leonardo's place when all he wanted to do was storm to the Haltons' residence and demand Eric and his wife return Hazel's memory to her.
"If it was possible to find an alternative to the Luna's halo, would it have taken us this long to research it? There is simply no other means to stop the gruesome effect of the blood moon except with the halo! We should find it instead of waiting here to deliberate about the impossible!" Raymond, another Alpha from an opposing faction to that of Makien, argued.
"Then are we just going to sit and watch the event from three years ago repeat itself? Are we just going to sit back and watch our kins kill each other after losing their reasoning to the sinister blood moon? Where do you expect us to find the halo now? Haven't we been looking for it?" Raphael, who was also from Makien's faction, asked.
The debate on how to deal with the infamous blood moon continued, and the longer they debated, the more irritated Dylan became. Their noise was getting to him; with pursed lips and narrowed eyes, he sent a warning look to the arguing Alphas, and everyone kept quiet.
"Since we were unable to get back the Luna's halo as of now," he started. He felt a headache coming alongside the urge to abandon his responsibility and just drive away to make sure Hazel was fine; the mate bond had been pulling at him since he received the news. "We've been researching other ways to prevent the blood moon from affecting us. We found some ancient documentation about how the effect was curbed, but the ingredients needed to make those things in this day and age are pretty rare, and some can even be considered extinct," Dylan explained.
"If there is a possibility to acquire those materials, then I think it's worth the shot. Every Alpha here has a means or the other, and once the materials are gathered, we would be able to prevent chaos. It is worth the try," Raphael chipped in.
"We've gathered most of the items needed to make the serum; however, in small quantities due to how rare these items are, but we’re still short on the three major items needed to make them. We've reached out and are currently awaiting a response from the vampire clan, where we would need to acquire the blood of a thousand-year-old vampire, and we all know how rare those have become after the war," he explained.
The room went quiet as Dylan mentioned the need to acquire the blood of a thousand-year-old vampire. It was not news that vampires are naturally opportunistic and they would never do favours without asking for a price. They could all imagine what enormous price the werewolf race would have to pay in exchange for something as precious as that.
"What do they want in exchange for the blood?" Alpha Makien asked sceptically.
"As of now, we haven't heard back from them, and we are still not entirely sure they would give us what we ask. That blood is also a precious need for their race," Dylan explained.
Leonardo had briefed him on the outcome of the trip he went out for, and despite them being friends with the vampire king, the chances of getting the blood were so slim due to how highly valued the blood is among the vampires themselves. To get a vampire's blood essence, the vampire would sacrifice his life, as the essence is their heart and soul. A vampire that has lived for a thousand years is no joke, and they would have a huge force behind them, which meant they couldn't be casually hunted.
"What are the other two items? We can search for those while we wait for the vampires to get back to us with their decision," Wyatt, another Alpha, asked curiously. All the Alphas were already curious about what the other two items would be if the least rare of them was a thousand-year-old vampire blood essence.
Dylan remained silent, and after a long while, he replied, "We would need a dragon's pearl and an angel's tears." The room was instantly filled with exclamations at the mention of both items.
"Dragon pearl?"
"Angel's tears?"
None of them could remember the last time any of those races had been sighted, even before the war. Naturally, those two races were the rarest to come across; that was even more so after the war that sent the supernatural world into chaos. How would they acquire such things?
Wouldn't actively looking for the lost Luna's halo be better?
The Alphas turned to Dylan, all with curiosity in their eyes. "What sort of serum are you making for you to need all these precious items?" These were mostly the questions that filled their hearts.
A dragon's pearl can only be acquired when dragons are killed; no dragon would give away its pearl casually, except to their soulmate. The pearl represents the soul and source of a dragon's power, and once it gets into the hands of the wrong person, the dragon can be considered dead.
Let's not even think about angel's tears; those are another level of rare, as angels are considered emotionless beings who follow divine orders. Nobody knows how or what could cause an angel to shed tears, and even when they do, they do it away from other beings.
Both items have always been on the top list of the rare items to acquire, and they have both started wars amongst races. Acquiring those items is tantamount to asking for another war.
"Supreme Alpha Leonardo, those items are impossible to get unless we are asking for war, and even if we are, those races have long been considered extinct," Tiara, a female Alpha, chimed in.
"They aren't extinct; they just live a secluded life away from the rest of the supernaturals," Dylan explained.
"Let's say we acquire those items. Dragon pearl doesn't look like something that would be used in a serum; it can't be broken into pieces or powdered."
"You are right. The dragon pearl isn't going to be used to make a serum. We are looking to make a mini Luna's halo."
Beth's eyes narrowed, and her aura became maliciously frosty at the mention of her father. The man who had abandoned his child since birth because she was a 'weak healer' and killed his wife under his vicious experiments to become stronger.Beth doesn't have much of an impression of her father as he never came to visit her since she was born a weak healer. Everything she knew about him was things she heard from people and the evil things he always does. For the longest time, her goal was to avenge her mother's death, but the goal always seemed farther and farther because every time she met him, he was always stronger than the previous times. She knew many people like her mother had to die to make him as strong as he is, yet she was always incapacitated when it came to avenging their deaths. With her fist clenched so tightly that it was dripping blood, she stood up. "You know my temperament the best. Do you still think I am the best choice to go on this mission?" she asked carefully.O
Aaron paced back and forth in his room, his hands clasped behind his back, his brow furrowed in thought. He was deep in contemplation, and he shook his head every so often as if trying to clear his mind."Council leader Aaron," a deep, resonant voice said from the doorway. "May I come in?" Aaron's head snapped up, his thoughts interrupted by the unexpected interruption. He looked around the room for anything out of place, finding nothing, so he decided to open the door. His heart skipped a beat as he noticed the angered appearance of the man standing before him."I strongly hope you have brought the key," the buff-muscled man, Henry, asked as he stepped into the room without waiting for Aaron to invite him in.Aaron closed the door after making sure there was no one lurking around and turned to the man who had already made himself comfortable on the bed."Yes, I have brought the key. However, I just found out we need a special method to open the stone casket," Aaron replied with a dej
In the dark, shadowy part of the Light City, a group of rogues marched in a single line, led by a large brown wolf. Their movements were careful and vigilant, like an army on the march to war. They moved through the forest, avoiding the rays of moonlight that shone down from above. There was something strange about their movements, something that didn't sit quite right. It was as if they were trying to hide from the moon. One of them who strayed away and was touched by the gleams of the moon turned into a puddle of blood and flesh the next moment. Seeing the scene, the rogues became even more careful and vigilant as they pressed on to their destination.Suddenly, a loud howl cut through the silence of the thick forest, and all the rogues stayed frozen in their steps—except the brown wolf who led the group. He marched into the darker part of the forest until he stopped by a hidden creek. He bent to his knees as his eyes focused into the darkness below."My lord," the brown wolf said, "
"I want all the surveillance cameras rechecked from top to bottom. You can't miss anything," Leonardo ordered as he returned with a dark expression and rumpled clothes. The people in the tower looked startled by his sudden appearance and his cold aura.Alpha Rick, who had not had a wink of sleep for the past few days, walked over with a large cup of coffee and massive eye bags. He bowed lightly towards Leonardo and asked, "Would you like to freshen up and relax in the guest house? We will inform you when we find anything," he suggested, feeling sorry for his subordinates, who had long been suppressed by Leonardo's cold aura."There is no need," Leonardo declined without a second thought as he proceeded to where the tower commander was standing. "Has there been any suspicious moves in Light City these days? Like several people coming in at this time?" he asked curiously. The tower commander thought about it carefully and gave a nod. "We did notice there are people coming into the city
"Who are you?" Leonardo asked once again, using his senses to scan the surrounding area for any other presence. His body went rigid as he felt a deadly aura in the farthest distance of the surrounding forest. The aura around the person felt cold and threatening. Leonardo felt suffocated the moment he came in contact with the aura and took a step back involuntarily."What the hell was that?" he muttered under his breath as he noticed his hands were trembling from fear. "How can I be afraid?"The voice chuckled again, noticing Leonardo's discomfort. "You can refer to me as King," he replied calmly. "I've been wanting to meet you for a while now. Ah! Of course, I would also like to meet your twin," he added, and Leonardo frowned. The name made him remember the burglars that came into their home, and with a sneer, he stood straight.'There is no way I will cower before someone else like that!' he thought to himself as he started walking towards the direction where he had previously sensed
"I need you to keep an eye on Hazel alongside Dylan," Leonardo informed as he got out of the car and headed towards the flight departure area.Beth frowned slightly, feeling a little suspicious about the whole Ruby thing. If Ruby was really sighted, Fangs would have also mobilised someone on their side to follow her trail, but there was no movement and everything was quiet."Do you really think she was sighted?" she asked curiously.Without pausing, Leonardo gave a reply. "It doesn't matter if she is or isn't. I have to confirm it by myself. We can't take chances. Besides, there has been a lot of movement regarding the rogues lately; it has to be dealt with somehow," he explained with a gloomy expression.Beth immediately understood his sentiment. It wasn't that they were 100 percent sure, but they were in the tightest corner, and they couldn't afford to let go of any chances."You have nothing to worry about; Hazel is in safe hands with me and Dylan," she assured, but Leonardo shook
