Ame POV

The air between us becomes palpable….all four of us stand staring at each other, warning sparks sent through the space between us…a storm continuing to brew.

“You!” Dessa gasps out, taking a step closer to me but Balgaire stands in her path, blocking me from both their scrutinising stares.

“What is this, Calian…what is going on. What is she doing here?”

Calian doesn’t answer her, his eyes trained solely on Balgaire…watching his every movement.

“Calian…” She demands out, her eyes moving to Balgaire and for a brief second, I swear I see a sneer land upon her face, her fake character breaking as another alpha sizes her up.

“This is my healer, sent to save your son.” Balgaire sneers out, keeping me unnecessarily blocked.

He didn’t appreciate the tone she spoke in, and I can feel his alpha aura expanding.

“Her, not a chance….she’s not going anywhere near my boy.” She refuses, her eyes not quite matching her voice as she looks to Calian with almost a strangled fear.

    Ame POV I was one of the first to arrive at the hospital this morning, the receptionists not even yet at their posts to let me in.     Ame POV“Children and their imagination.” Dessa mutters out as she pushes her empty plate away from her.
