Sneak Attack

Brendon’s POV

“Those bastards are calling for their death!” I cursed, sliding my phone into my pocket.

I can’t ask Logan for backup because he’s gone after those criminals. In that case, I’ll ask Rubex for backup.

I rushed out of there, leaving Rako with some warriors to guard the dungeon and the held prisoners. I’m sure Rako will not do anything for the remaining prisoners to escape since his main purpose was to free up those three managers. “I’m still confused; why would Rako betray me and work with enemies!”

I glared at Rako sadistically before walking out of the entrance gate of the dungeon. In a hurry, my feet instinctively started running at an insane speed, as if I was about to shift into my Lycan form. “Not yet, Brendon. Control your rage,” my wolf roared, suppressing my transformation.

I ran out of the warehouse, got hastily inside the car and relaxed my head on the back of the seat. Seeing me in a hurry, a group of five guards [warriors] followed me to the parking lot, and two of them got inside the car, accelerated the engine, and the car jerked off on the main road.

The other three guards followed me in another car. I was burning in scorching anger; if I dared, I would burn everything in my way.

“Alpha, where are we heading to?” The guard driving the car asked. I tilted my head up and answered,” To the territory of NOX.”

“Understood.”

The car’s speed increased, making our way through deserted streets, where the number of vehicles decreased to one or two—no shops or buildings alongside the road. We have entered the territory of NOX. A Mafia group consisting of vampires and werewolves working together. Supporting my face on my right hand, I murmured, My instinct is never wrong. Eva must be Abducted by NOX’s people.

“Alpha, we are inside NOX’s territory; what are your orders?”

“Sneak attack,” I smirked, filling my Glock-17 pistol with silver-coated bullets. It may not be useful against vampires, but those traitor werewolves will surely die after getting shot by my gun.

“Arm yourselves, everyone,” I said, kicking the wooden cabin under my seat—a custom design box to keep weapons a secret. I pulled open that box and handed over rifles and pistols to my men. I took one Galatz Sniper rifle myself, loading it with bullets. I got out of the car.

My eyes roamed around; no living life was present there. The area had small concrete camps constructed in an appropriate space ratio. Like two camps constructed in the distance of one kilometer, then another. It was like an abandoned area converted into a battlefield of NOX.

“We will not follow the roadways. The unknown scents of beings are coming from camps,” I said, pointing towards the distant brick camp.

I climbed up on the highlands diverting the roadway path. We moved forward, hiding behind the camps to prevent ourselves from being seen.

Just moments after, there was a blaster sound. I looked back and saw my cars were bombarded and set on fire. This alerted me, so I hurriedly rushed forward. We were following the sneak attack strategy. Without getting shot, we have to cover the one-kilometer distance between the camps and move forward to do the same.

BANG! BANG!

A sniper’s bullets shot toward us, taking the lives of my two men. I rushed to the nearby empty camp, hiding behind the wall. I peeked at the other camp in the distance.

“Alpha, the camps have warriors of NOX,” my remaining three men informed.

I already saw the men in the other camps. They were probably waiting for me to approach further so that they could cut off my escape routes. I can’t return because my car is already reduced to ashes.

“There is a guaranteed strategy that the NOX’s warriors will surround from all directions and start firing,’ I sneered in frustration. I punched the wall realizing how unplanned my move was. I didn’t think the enemy’s men would hide inside these camps.

“Alpha, what should we do now?” I took a deep breath, and my brows furrowed in seriousness as I replied coldly,” continue moving. Our target is hiding in the abandoned building site where Eva is.

I had already detected Eva’s scent in the area. It was three kilometers away, ending in the underdeveloped building site. I have to keep moving before they do anything worse with her.

“Ah, got one.” I aimed at the men in the nearby camp and took their headshots.

“Now move to the camp,” I ordered my men, and we immediately ran to the nearby camp. The dead bodies of three men [werewolves] were covered in blood. I felt disgusted because I was killing my own race, but there was nothing else I could do if I wanted to rescue Eva.

The firing continued from both sides, and I took almost ten headshots of enemies, but two of my men got shot in the firing. “Alpha, we are near our target,” the remaining man informed me before he got shot by the enemy too. His lifeless body plopped in front of my eyes, and I sat there doing nothing. The bullets fired from the enemy side have silver elements in them.

I covered my face with one hand and sarcastically commented,” I never thought NOX would be one step ahead of me.”

I was losing my sanity. My dark thoughts of destroying everything overwhelmed me. They don’t know the power of Lycan yet. I can end their pathetic lives with one thunder roar.

I kept the rifle aside and growled loudly. My skin began to peel off as the fur popped out, covering my skin. The heat in my chest grew, making me stand on my fours. The backbone cracked, transforming into a carved structure.

“Alpha, you should not shift now when the enemies have silver armor,” a familiar voice shouted from my back. I looked back and saw Logan with the other men.

I paused and returned to my humanoid form. “What are you doing here?”

“Those three managers are the ones who abducted Eva from the hospital and brought her here in the NOX territory,” Logan reported, firing at the nearby men who kept firing at us.

“Is that so?!” My anger triggered as I continued firing at the enemy’s camp. Logan and I moved forward, and our men covered for us.

“SOMEBODY HELP ME,” a Painful cry reverberated into my ears.
