Chapter 111

Lucinda's POV.

My legs carried me before I could stop them.

My chest was practically burning from the words Darcus had flung at me like lava burning through my very skin.

The sting of his accusation, the dark look in his eyes as he said I was on Killian’s side and that he couldn't trust me anymore—it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Just when I thought I'd get out of the woods with my past, that idiot had to go ahead and ruin everything.

I should have found a quiet place to collect my thoughts but my rage and disbelief had other plans.

I stormed down the corridor like a woman possessed, heart thudding with a mess of fury and something I didn’t want to name.

Hurt.

My fists trembled at my sides as I reached Killian's door and pounded without pause. The sound echoed harshly down the otherwise quiet hall.

He opened the door halfway, eyes narrowing in surprise, but I was already pushing past him, storming into the room like a tornado.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I

Author's POV. Lucinda put all her thoughts aside to make a very beautiful meal for her family. The head of the maids came and was so surprised to see her doing the cooking, when she could have just asked one of the maids. She approached her, and asked her to stop, so the maids would be able to continue helping her. But Lucinda refused politely. Cooking was some sort of therapy for her and she really needed that. She made toast bread, with fried egg and juice. She also made pasta, sauce and meatballs to give the kids some options. Then, she was able to make cupcakes for dessert. Hours passed and Lucinda was finally done. Darcus came to meet her in the kitchen, and kissed her. "You made breakfast? What happened to the maids?" He asked when his eyes swept over the place that Lucinda was cleaning now. He made an attempt to call on the head of the maids, Sophie, but Lucinda was able to stop him on time. "No, no. Don't worry about it. I wanted to do this for you, and th

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 176

Author's POV. After breakfast, Lucinda was about to take a walk around the house when Darcus told her that he had a surprise for her. "Aww, Darcus. You really shouldn't have. I didn't get you anything," She cooed, while hugging him tightly. "No, I wanted to do this because I'm happy that we're finally doing this. We get to do life together, that's more than enough. And you gave me our beautiful children too. That's more than enough." Darcus answered, causing Lucinda to smile. He led her to their bedroom, and there, she saw different beautiful jewelleries laid out on the bed, as well as the most expensive dresses on the bed too. Lucinda was so surprised, and she hugged Darcus out of excitement. She was really happy, and she thanked him greatly. They spent the next few hours trying out the clothes and laughing together. It was really fun and it made Lucinda feel nostalgic of the moments they used to share together before they started driving apart. * * * Ho

Lucinda's POV. "Married? Tomorrow? That's not possible! I thought you left, what happened?" Nora exclaimed as she moved closer. She had stopped rubbing her face now, and she looked so angry. I didn't want to talk to her so she wouldn't come to cause even more problems for us, but Darcus had told me that he had punished her so much that she wouldn't think of coming close to the pack house anytime soon. "Well, that changed. If you'd excuse me, I have some things to buy." And with that, I left her standing, as she looked dumbfounded. I went back to meet the maid and we instantly left the shopping mall without buying anything. Nora had spoilt the mood. We got back to the car and went home. But when we got home, I told the maid to get down while the driver turned around and went back to the road. I called Marcus and asked him if we could meet up today. As expected, he said yes and we agreed on a restaurant to meet up. We drove there and thirty minutes later, I was waiting

Lucinda's POV. It felt like Darcus dropped a bombshell on me with the words he just said to me. What did he mean by Nora having a video of me? To frame me? "You didn't believe the video, did you? Yes, we had our issues but I wouldn't do that to you. You-" I started speaking so fast to defend myself, but Darcus stopped me mid sentence when he smiled and inched closer. "No, I didn't believe it. That's why I'm here, with you. I made sure I taught her a lesson, one she wouldn't forget in a hurry." He said. "Wh-what did you do to her?" Darcus just shrugged and told me not to worry about it. "Now, let's address the main issue, shall we?" He asked instead and I instantly knew what he was talking about. He wanted to ask me why I left and didn't want to be tied to him anymore. I wanted to tell him to brush it aside since I ended up coming back, but we had been fighting a lot lately and if we didn't address it now, we'd just continue fighting till whenever. So, I sat dow

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 172

Lucinda's POV. I was so happy that Marcus was alive after all. After I pulled out of the hug, I stared at his face for a long time before someone interrupted the moment. His wife. She cleared her throat loudly, and I was forced to step back. She plastered a false smile on her face, as she stepped forward and pulled Marcus into a hug. I could tell that he was a bit uncomfortable, but he hugged her back and smiled. After everything his wife said and now that he was back, I just knew that I couldn't stay there for long. So, I bade Marcus goodbye and stepped out to leave. But just like I half expected, Marcus stopped me in my tracks. I waited for him to face me. "Why are you leaving? I'm here now. We have to talk." He said and even though I wanted to excuse myself, I just couldn't. "Look, Marcus. I am really happy you're here. I really am. But I have to leave. I'm sure Darcus is worried about me right now." He inched closer, with a frown etched on his face. "Why? What

  • The Lycan King’s Favorite Breeder   Chapter 171

Lucinda's POV. Watching Marcus's wife pointing accusing fingers at me was not something that I mentally prepared for and no matter how much I tried to act like it didn't get to me I ended up lying to myself because I was trying to figure out why and what exactly she was trying to achieve by everything that she had done. "I have been nothing but nice to you, I have done nothing to hurt you and you have decided that you want it to get rid of me for a reason that I do not even have any slight idea of. Sometimes I wonder why humans can decide to act mean to others, I don't even understand why." I mentioned it out loud. It was probably as though I was exaggerating but I wouldn't even try to do that at this point because it didn't just make any sense, I was trying my best not to get even more angry than I already was because this was something that I was not even expecting her to be behind. "You had him eating out of your palms. What did you expect from me? Laughing and clapping while yo
