Brigid slammed Lylah’s face against the wall, pinning her. Lylah hissed.

Brigid smirked. "Look how weak and slow your movements are. Damn weak—I could crush you without any effort.”

Lylah scoffed, ignoring the pain that shot through her face. “How about you wait until I get my wolf?”

“No wolf means you're not fit to be a warrior!” Brigid snapped.

Lylah slammed her elbow into Brigid's waist, and as her grip loosened, she threw a punch at Brigid’s face, but her attack was caught. Brigid flung her over her shoulder and slammed her onto the floor.

"I'm stronger than you. You can't beat me." Brigid stared down at her with a dangerous gaze.

"Yeah, that's obvious. I'm not as strong as you. So why the hell are you so jealous?" Lylah raised her head slightly from the ground and gave her a look.

"Jealous?"

"Yeah. If you're so mad about me being given a chance to be a warrior, you shouldn’t be fighting me—you should be asking the Grand Handsome Lord why he did what he did.”

"Watch it!" Brigid sn

In the north wing, the Crimson Pack was among the list of packs about to be raided. Thanks to soldiers from the recent Ouroboros war who had deceived Valoreth, they were able to obtain information early and immediately devised a plan.“I've got a signal. They’ll be here any moment,” one soldier said to Falcon.Falcon nodded and stepped down from the wall, approaching the gates just as they opened to let Eryz ride in with a cart.“Got enough weapons?” he asked.“Sure. Enough to soak the earth in devils’ blood. Not just weapons though—we brought someone as well,” Eryz replied, giving Falcon a cue to look at the next horse riding in.Falcon froze, his lips parting as he watched the male, clad in a common tunic and strapped with weapons, dismount the horse.“M… my Lord?”Lucas approached with a small smile. “Good to see you again, Falcon.”“My Lord!” Falcon shouted, bolting forward to hug him without a second thought, eyes welling with tears. “Oh my goodness, you're a…” He paused, suddenl

Arianna stepped further until she was fully in the moonlight.“You were saying something about the silver-haired devil?” Arianna crooked her head gently. “Well, here I am.”Damaris stiffened. The rogue army behind him began to murmur, shifting without noticing, while some licked their lips with craving. It’s the full moon, after all. The urge could overcome the right senses. But those who knew the story behind the familiar female standing before them felt their breath hitch.“Remember what you said the last time, Damaris? That the King lost himself trying to protect me. That you swore to protect the Moon Realm. That the realm deserves better, and I, Arianna Greystone, will not be part of it. Even if I keep trying, there will be no place for a devil…” she raised both hands gently, “…like me.”Damaris’ jaw clenched.“A devil, huh?" She scoffed. "I wonder if we have the same definition. You’re about to raid and kill the ones you claimed to protect.”Damaris’ tongue clicked, other hand cl

Not real. This is not real. You're simply hallucinating, Valoreth. Perhaps you fell asleep in your chamber and haven’t woken up yet. This is just another nightmare. Duncan Thornevale isn't sitting on his fucking throne. His gaze settled on Sahrak. The male was no longer breathing. Gone? Judging by his state, Duncan must have been torturing him the entire time he’d gone missing. Valoreth suddenly slapped his own face, the sound echoing through the vast hall. “Wake up!” Slap. “Wake up!!!” Slap. “Wake up, goddammit!!!” He screamed. And screamed. No longer slapping, now scratching at his own face until blood dripped to the floor. The sting gave him a cruel reminder. Everything was real. Duncan was still there, seeming to enjoy the show. How was this possible? The poison should have killed him. Valoreth had seen the skulls. The bones. It had been seven years, so how was this possible? Valoreth tried to gather the pieces. Tried to fish out every possibilities but, non

Valoreth returned to his chamber, barely able to stay on his feet. He staggered, holding the nearby table for support.Sleep.By the gods, he needed a moment away from the voices in his head. His eyes settled on a painting on the wall. One he hadn’t noticed before leaving the room.“How did this get here?” he whispered, stepping closer. It was a painting of a dark-skinned, beautiful woman. Ocean-blue eyes, thick lashes, full lips curled into a dark smirk, an expression of hate. The painting felt alive, as though she were truly there, glaring at him.“Mearina,” Valoreth whispered. There had never been a painting of her that looked like this. So how?He dropped to his knees, struggling to breathe.“Why are you… haunting me, Mearina? We both agreed you'd die so why are you being selfish?!” he croaked. “Is it because I want to marry our daughters off? Fine! I’ll leave them alone. It's pointless anyway. The realm will fear me. There will be no king or queen. Just me.”“Me!!!” he roared. “S

All Arianna said was true. Valoreth had been pushed over the edge, and now his decision had become too desperate. Evoking fear was the only way he could maintain control.'This is King Duncan's prediction. All you need to do is keep your head low and let us handle the rest.'Elder Varyn took a deep breath as Arianna's words echoed in his head. He wondered where King Duncan might be at the moment. Honestly, Duncan scared Elder Varyn the most.Who knows what the King of the Realm was about to do? But whatever it is, he trusted him."I demand silence!" Valoreth roared. The space fell quiet. No one had seen where the shots came from, so all lowered their voices."I know what you’re thinking. I’m a murderer. I’ve committed one of the greatest crimes this realm has ever seen. And let me tell you something," his voice dropped, cold and dangerous, "I killed the most powerful male in the realm and also a daughter of the Dragon Goddess. Doesn’t that mean you should fear me? That you should keep

The gathering was happening tonight, and all Alphas were to attend. It was the talk of the town. Many were unsettled because the gathering was meant to dispel the rumors about the previous King, Duncan. Some believed he had been poisoned and killed by those in power. Others believed he was alive and possibly trapped somewhere, as rumors about a coffin and spell had spread. There was so much confusion to clear, so many unanswered questions. All the realm wanted was an explanation. But one thing baffled them... Why was the gathering scheduled for nightfall under the full moon? Only Valoreth knew the answer. It wasn't just a night of gathering. It was a night of terror. Tonight, he was going to set everything straight and let the realm know that doubting him came with consequences. Valoreth allowed the maids to dress him in his robe and apply makeup to conceal his ghostly appearance. After they finished, he dismissed them, his gaze fixed on the mirror. Staring back at him was a male
