3. Kemira

Today is my birthday. I have to escape. I knew he wouldn’t let me go even if I found my mate. Plus, who would want a wolf-less mate? I’d be more of a hindrance than anything. Just another human to protect. I can’t do that to anyone.

I’ve been saving money and storing it away under a floorboard in my room. I have a couple hundred dollars. It should help me get on a bus as far away as possible. Then I can work like I always have.

The Alpha has been finding reasons to have me come into his office. Using me like he always does. Goddess, I hate him. I wish I could end him. After cleaning the usual rooms and getting them ready for guests, he has me on my knees servicing him while he sits at his desk. Forcing himself down my throat. Choking me until I nearly blacked out. Then he told me to return to work even though his come is on my clothes. People look at me in disgust as I pass them in the hall. As if I have a choice in the matter. I just need a small window of opportunity to get away.

I make it to my room to wash up and change into my only other uniform. I smell my mom walking by, and I open the door to see her. She looks radiant but also tired. Tired like how I feel on the inside. We look a lot alike. Her features are more worn. Her eyes look tired. But she wears a lot of makeup and fakes her smiles.

“Mom.” I begin, and she stops but doesn’t turn around to look at me.

“What is it, Kemira. I have things to do as the wife of the beta for all our guests arriving.”

“Why don’t you believe me?” I whisper. She turns, and her face falters for a second, then rage covers it.

“What do you mean? You went off into the woods. You knew there were rogues. The poor Luna tried to save you, and you left her to die. Did I get any of that wrong?”

“I didn’t have my wolf! She told me to run. What could I do?” I plead.

“You could have given your life for hers. She was worth something to this pack. You have been worthless to me since the moment I knew I was carrying you.” Her words sting, but no more than usual. I’m obviously a glutton for punishment. We have had this talk before.

“…and for future reference, don’t speak to me anymore. You are no longer my child. The Alpha will use you as he sees fit. Which makes you lucky. I would have put you out as a rogue. At least he finds some value in you.” Her words sting like venom.

“Please don’t let him use me any further. I swear I’ll do anything…” Then I feel her slap my face. The burn of her hand on my skin. The hatred in her eyes.

“You will do whatever he wants, however he wants. I don’t know why you think you are special. But you are not. You are a worthless whore who will get what she deserves. Do not ever speak to me again.” She turns and walks away. I hold back my tears, holding my hand to my face. I take a deep breath. Goddess, I wish I had my wolf so I could have someone to talk to. I feel so alone all the time. I don’t have time to dwell on my life. If I’m standing still, then I can be cleaning something. I close my door, hurrying to the kitchen. My face was bruised with the slap, but no one looked at me anyway. I begin to prep the steaks for dinner. Washing the potatoes and vegetables.

It is hard, exhausting work. Especially when I am so easy a target. My bone white hair stands out in any group. As I continue cutting the potatoes for the large pot of mashed potatoes, I hear them enter the room. They are in the pantry as I hear Gemma moan as she makes out with Alpha Lev. Then I smell him. His scent fills my nostrils like I’m awakened for the first time. Oh, please let it be someone else. Anyone else but Alpha Lev. I am drawn to the pantry door and open it. I feel pain in my chest seeing him with her. He has her pinned against the shelves as he pumps himself inside of her. My heart begins to ache with each movement. Then Gemma looks at me, smiling as she continues to take him. She stares at me with an evil grin while gripping his hair.

“Oh, Lev. You feel so good!” She moans as he thrusts harder. Making the canned goods on the shelf rattle. Then I hear him sniff, and he pauses. He turns, and I am still standing there like a deer in headlights.

“What the fuck are you doing here? Are you getting off on watching us?” Alpha Lev yells. I shake my head no as he approaches me placing his cock back in his pants. Gemma smiles, puckering her lips.

“Oh goddess! Lev, she was watching us. Probably doing some unthinkable acts while watching us.” Gemma speaks, walking over to me. Grabbing my hair, making me fall to the floor.

“Why do I smell you? Oh, goddess,, you can’t be serious. All this time, and it was you? My mate?” He says with disgust. “Did you know? While you were fucking my father? You truly are a slut.”

“I told you she knows dark magic! It’s the reason why she was able to hurt your mother! Then sleep with your father? She is so sick! Especially knowing you were her mate?” Gemma lies, and Lev believes every word.

“What? How would I know black magic? And if I did, why would I choose to live like this?” I plead.

“Obviously, this is your kink. You enjoy the way Alpha treats you. Just like the whore you have always been." Gemma slaps me and I fall to the ground. I’m too weak to fight her anyway. My one meal a day I have to ration so I can keep myself alert. Plus, she is one of the top warriors here. “Babe, you have to reject her now! So we can be together tonight officially!”

I see Alpha Lev pause for a second and look at me.
