My name is Kemira, and I’m a mess. At least, that is what everyone tells me. I’m almost twenty years old. I work at the pack house. Both my parents and my older brother have beta blood coursing through them. But I never got my wolf on my eighteenth birthday. My parents all but ignore me. My brother finds every chance to humiliate me when he is around his friends. I hate it here. I am waiting for the first opportunity to leave. Yet I am watched like a hawk. The only person who was ever nice to me was Luna Fiona. She was killed by rogues protecting my lack of a wolf. So the entire pack hates me for that reason. “I’ll never understand why Luna gave her life for such a useless omega. I mean, she doesn’t even have a wolf. She should have died instead of Luna.” I’m in the bathrooms scrubbing them, and I hear Gemma and her followers outside talking. I hold my breath, trying not to move an inch. But I know they smell my scent. Wolves have a great sense of smell and sight. “There you are! The alpha is looking for you, runt. You better hurry.” Gemma stands on my hand as I remain silent. Not giving in to the pain. If I show her, it gets to me. She loves it even more. She bends over and grips my hair. “Why don’t you just run away. Or end your life altogether. No one here wants you.” “Gemma, where is she? My father is not to wait!” An angry Alpha Lev turns into the entrance to the women’s bathroom. He is stunning and even angry. His grey eyes and dark brown hair are just like his mom's. His chiseled jawline and large musculature. That is all his dad, Alpha Leopold. Gemma grinds her heel into my hand as I grimace in pain, and then she releases me. “Yes, babe, I found her. Goofing off on chores.” Gemma lies. She has been dating Lev since forever. She plans to be Luna, but they are not mated. So she is waiting for him to claim her as his mate. I have had a crush on him my entire life. Especially with my brother being his best friend and future Beta. Yet, they all hate me because of losing Luna. “Get in his office now!” he yells at me. “Yes, Alpha.” I jump quickly, not making eye contact. Gemma trips me, and I fall to the floor. My hands are raw and bruised, but I am used to it. “Such a clumsy waste of space.” She continues as she walks over to Lev and holds on to him. He pulls her close, and I hurry by them. I hear them all laughing as I rush to the Alpha’s office. It’s crazy because when we were kids, Alpha Lev and I were really good friends. When he would train with my brother, he always invited me along. Then Gemma transferred from her grandfather’s pack. The moment she saw him, she wanted him. No matter. I saw many evil things happen at her hands to other girls. But Lev seemed to fall for her even more. They were meant to be. I make it quickly to Alpha Leopold’s office. I knock, awaiting his permission to enter. I find my parents in there as well as my brother. They all stare with hatred in their eyes at me. I am the embarrassment of the family. Both of my parents are of beta blood. My brother is a beta, and it’s been almost two years since my eighteenth birthday, and no wolf. Making me an omega. The lowest of the low. The omegas cook, clean, farm…all the manual labor. Next, Alpha Lev and Gemma enter the room. I stand in the middle, wearing my tattered cleaning uniform. My hand-me-down shoes. “Kemira, thank you for finding the time to grace us with your presence. It’s been brought to my attention that your birthday is coming up. If you haven’t found your mate, we will need to find some way for you to work off your debt.” He begins. “Debt? What debt?” I speak, and he puts out his aura through gritted teeth. I flinch as if in pain. I feel nothing, though. His power doesn’t affect me, but I know if I tell anyone, they will make my life much worse. “Yes, your debt for taking the life of my mate. For doing your evil work to trick my Luna into thinking you need help. Luckily, Gemma was there to tell us what happened. Otherwise, we would never know of your true evils.” That has been the story. I lured Luna into the forest. She tried to save me, and I ran, leaving her to fight off four wolves. I told them that’s not what happened, but Gemma told them she saw it all. They took her word over mine. I’ve no clue because she has hated me so. But the entire pack believes her, and I am nothing but pure evil. “But…” I begin, then I hear my father growl. “Do not interrupt your Alpha. You are lucky he doesn’t put you in the cells!” My dad, Beta Baldwin, speaks with such anger. I look to my mother, whom I have the same stone white hair. The same golden-brown skin. She looks at me in disgust. I look to the floor, accepting whatever they say. I just know the first moment I get, I will run. There is nothing here for me. I have no wolf to comfort me. I am truly all alone.“Get us to our jet. Now! I want the hospital staff to be waiting for us as we land.” I demand as I peer down at her soft face. I’ve never seen such a species with soft brown skin and bone white hair. I softly caress a lock of her hair, pushing it away from her closed eyes. She snuggles into me as her breathing regulates. I can’t even imagine what she has endured. I’m just glad I was there to take her away from all of this. Minutes later, we make it onto the tarmac, and our jet is on standby. My warriors quickly grabbed the bags as I carried her up to the cabin. Our jet sits fifteen people, plus it has a bedroom in the back. I carry her to the back and lay her on the bed. I tucked her in, needing a drink and to talk with my Beta. Once she snuggles into the pillow, I sneak out to the main cabin. Ryne is on his computer, working quickly. “Sir, we have her name. Kemira Logan and she is twenty years old. Her file is pretty bare, but I’ll keep digging.” I nod. “I wa
I would storm this entire castle to find this scent. I knew something was going on here, but I had no idea what exactly. I knew this Alpha was a piece of shit. I felt it in my bones. Even my wolf, Fin, felt how horrible this place was. Even though everyone smiled in our faces, it was all a lie. As we make our way down the hall, led by only Fin and his feelings, he has no one to stop us. No one dares to even make eye contact with me or my Beta, as that is a sign of a challenge. We make it to the top floor, and I can’t even get through to Fin. It’s like he put up a wall and has control over our body. “My king, this is the Alpha’s floor. Both the father and son reside here. Plus, other dignitaries were placed here. We are on the other end of the castle.” Ryne informs me as we continue picking up the pace. I feel another wave of power. ‘Fin, did you feel that?’ I mind-link my wolf. ‘Yes, it’s stronger than I imagined. We are getting close to the source.’ He
(SA warning) “Wait, you want her? You want this weak woman who has no wolf, who fucks your own father and killed your mother?” Gemma screams. “Shut up! Of course not. Kemira, you disgust me. I hope you get everything coming to you. My father has been holding back. Wait until I tell him this.” He snarls as my heartbeat quickens. I can’t take much more of this. Especially from his father. “I, Alpha Lev of the Silver Moon Pack, reject you, Kemira omega of the Silver Moon Pack.” His words slice into my soul. I feel radiating pain from every direction in my body. I scream as the pain pulses through me. Like I’m breaking every bone and forging them back together. Lev bends down, snarling, gripping my face painfully. I feel as though he will crush my jaw bones with his grip. “Say it back. Now!” He yells using his alpha aura, but as usual, it has no effect on me. I play along because I feel the pain in his grip. That is real. “I, Kemira, omega of the silver moon p
(SA warning)Today is my birthday. I have to escape. I knew he wouldn’t let me go even if I found my mate. Plus, who would want a wolf-less mate? I’d be more of a hindrance than anything. Just another human to protect. I can’t do that to anyone. I’ve been saving money and storing it away under a floorboard in my room. I have a couple hundred dollars. It should help me get on a bus as far away as possible. Then I can work like I always have. The Alpha has been finding reasons to have me come into his office. Using me like he always does. Goddess, I hate him. I wish I could end him. After cleaning the usual rooms and getting them ready for guests, he has me on my knees servicing him while he sits at his desk. Forcing himself down my throat. Choking me until I nearly blacked out. Then he told me to return to work even though his come is on my clothes. People look at me in disgust as I pass them in the hall. As if I have a choice in the matter. I just need a small window of
“So they are trying to mate you off again?” Katarina walks in and sits on my bed as I pack a few items that the maid didn’t put in my luggage. I exhale, looking at Kat. She is stunning. Tall, slender body with curves for days. Long strawberry blonde hair down her back with hazel eyes that can always read me like a book. To others she comes across as a bitch but with me she is just Kat. The kid I grew up with. “Yep, my father seems even more irritated because of the last blow-up I had.” “Well, you can’t help how powerful you are.” She backs me. Like she always does. I smile as she reaches for me. I pull her up off my bed and into my arms. “It would just make so much sense if we claimed each other.” “You deserve the person who will fall at your feet, Kat. I want that for you.” I release her and finish up the suitcase. “Well, I will be just a phone call away if you need me. Or especially when you return.” Katarina gives me a devious smile. I chuckle and close m
The rain continues to pour down hard. I can barely see two steps ahead of me. Yet I push on. My lycan is thirsty for blood, and we won’t calm down until we get it. I hunt the grounds of my family’s land in search of an animal worthy of my time. We have owned this land for thousands of years. Each lycan king is getting stronger and stronger. My Beta runs alongside me. Ryne is like a brother to me. We grew up together. Went to boarding school for special beings together. We trained in the special forces together. He is the one I trust the most. Yet here he is trying to convince me to cut my hunt short because we are needed at the castle. The last thing I want to think about is my pending schedule. My father wants to step down, but can’t because of my lycan, Fin. He is brutal and loves a good kill. “I’m hunting Ryne. You can either join me or leave.” I grunt back as I sprint for a large bear several yards ahead. “I know, Takoa, but your father is calling
