My Own Mate

The Lycan's Secret Mate 2.

My Own Mate.

I couldn't stop thinking about what the pack head had said to me earlier. I know I'm not able to shift into my wolf form like the others, but that doesn't make me any less of a werewolf. Being called a human stung more than I'd like to admit. It wasn't fair to judge me based on something I had no control over.

After finishing my daily labor, I decided to take a run in the forest to clear my head. The wind in my hair and the rustling of the leaves beneath my feet brought a sense of calm to me. As I ran, I saw a group of girls huddled together, chatting excitedly.

As I drew closer, I overheard them talking about their mates and how they had been marked. My heart sank with jealousy. When was it going to be my turn to experience such a profound connection? I longed to feel the warmth of a mate's touch and the sense of belonging that came with it.

But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel like it was a distant dream. After all, I was still being judged for not being able to shift. Would any mate want someone like me? I shook my head, pushing those thoughts aside. I couldn't let my insecurities consume me. Someday, I would find my mate, and when I did, I would be ready.

I looked at the group of girls gathered around me, giggling and whispering among themselves. I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as they talked about their mates and the fun times they had together. I couldn't help but wonder when I would finally find my own mate.

As if sensing my thoughts, one of the girls turned to me and chuckled. "What's wrong, Liliana? Don't tell us you still don't have a mate. Or worse, you don't even know how to shift yet!"

The other girls erupted into laughter, and I felt my face flush with embarrassment. It wasn't that I didn't want a mate or didn't know how to shift - I just hadn't found the right person yet.

But their teasing was too much for me to handle. I quickly made an excuse and left the group, feeling dejected and alone. I made my way to the nearby stream and immersed myself in the cool, refreshing water, hoping to wash away the hurtful words that had been spoken.

As I bathed, I couldn't help but think about my future. Would I ever find someone to love and cherish me, someone to share my life with? Or was I destined to be alone, forever longing for something that may never come? Only time would tell, but for now, all I could do was try to stay strong and keep my head held high.

As I sat by the stream, lost in thought, I suddenly heard a voice behind me. "Liliana," the voice said, "I have been watching you."

I turned around to see the beautiful face of the moon goddess herself. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, and I quickly got to my feet, bowing before her.

The goddess placed a gentle hand on my shoulder, urging me to stand. "There is no need for formalities, my child," she said. "I am here to listen to your troubles."

I took a deep breath and looked up at her, my eyes filling with tears. "Goddess," I said, "I am suffering. My parents died trying to save a stranger, and now I am alone in the world. I wish they hadn't done it. I wish they were still alive."

The goddess listened patiently as I poured out my heart to her, and when I had finished, she spoke softly. "My child, your parents were brave and selfless. They gave their lives to save another, and that is a noble thing. You should be proud of them, and honor their memory."

"But goddess," I said, wiping away my tears, "what am I supposed to do now? I have no family, no mate, no one to turn to."

The goddess smiled warmly at me. "You have me, my child," she said. "And you have yourself. You are strong and capable, and I have faith that you will find your way in the world. But you must trust in yourself, and in the path that the universe has laid out for you. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it."

I nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. "Thank you, goddess," I said. "I will try to honor my parents' memory and be strong."

The goddess smiled once more and touched my forehead gently. "Blessings be upon you, Liliana," she said. And with that, she disappeared into the night, leaving me feeling stronger and more resolved than ever before.

As I turned to leave, I saw the moon goddess appear before me once again. I was surprised, as she had just disappeared moments before.

"Goddess," I said, bowing respectfully. "Is there something else you want to tell me?"

The goddess smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Yes, Liliana," she said. "I have decided to grant you a wish."

My heart leaped with excitement. "A wish, goddess?" I asked. "What kind of wish?"

"I will give you a mate," she said. "Someone who will love you and cherish you, someone who will be your companion for life."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A mate? It was all I had ever wanted. "Thank you, goddess," I said, tears of joy streaming down my face. "But... how? Who will he be?"

The goddess simply smiled and placed a finger to her lips. "That is for me to know and for you to find out," she said. "But trust me, Liliana. Your mate is out there, and he is waiting for you. All you have to do is be patient and have faith."

I nodded, feeling a sense of hope and anticipation building within me. "Thank you, goddess," I said. "Thank you so much."

The goddess smiled and touched my forehead once again. "Blessings be upon you, Liliana," she said. "May your wish come true."

And with that, she disappeared into the night once again, leaving me feeling grateful and excited for what the future holds.

Getting to the pack house, The pack leader say's that I will be mated off soon and I express shock,The goddess had said she would give me a mate but I didn't expect it would be so soon.

" You will be mated tomorrow by sunrise at the festival of lights, The Pack head said and walked out

I couldn't believe my luck when I heard the news. After all these years of feeling like an outsider, I was finally going to have a mate just like everyone else. It was the biggest event in our pack's history, and I couldn't wait to see who fate had chosen for me.

But as the day drew closer, my excitement was tempered by anxiety. Would my mate be like the others who mocked me for being weak? Would he accept me for who I was, or would he reject me like so many others before him?

I tried to push those thoughts aside as I joined the rest of the pack in the clearing. The air was electric with anticipation as we all waited for the ceremony to begin. And then, as the sun began to set, the alpha stepped forward to make the announcement.

My heart was pounding as he spoke, and then he said the words I had been waiting to hear my entire life. "Liliana, your mate is..."

But before he could finish, a loud roar interrupted him. The ground shook beneath us as a massive figure burst through the trees, sending the rest of the pack scattering in fear.

I stood frozen, staring in disbelief as the creature approached me. It was like nothing I had ever seen before, with fur as black as midnight and eyes that glowed like embers.

And then it spoke, in a voice that rumbled through the clearing like thunder. "Liliana," it said, "I am your mate."
