Annah's eyes darted around as she surveyed the surrounding. She was shocked to have found herself in a lavishly elegant room, lying on a king-sized bed. Annah wondered how long she had been asleep, because the last thing she remembered was entering the helicopter with the man that kidnapped her.
Yes! Now she remembered, she was kidnapped!
Upon the discovery, she tried to move but found out she had been restrained. Her hands were cuffed behind her and it brought a wave of shock. Even as her mind flashback to the dream she had.
It was just like this in the dream, held captive and kidnapped. The only difference was that she wasn't in the dungeon but in a comfortable room. One that speaks of wealth, giving an insight to her kidnapper's riches.
But despite the beauty of the room, she still needs to leave. She isn't saved at all.
On that note, she began to struggle to get herself free from the bound on her hands but was unable to. Then, she tried moving backwards until she got the right position to sit upright before proceeding to take a glance at the room again.
The question that kept bugging her was why was she kidnapped in the first place?
Mostly because the last words of her kidnapper continued ringing in her head.
"As long as you give the boss what he wants. He will release you in no time."
But what does this unknown boss wants from her? What did she have to offer in order to get released?
These questions were plaguing her mind but she had no answers to them. Instead, she was perplexed and not quite sure what to do.
Just as the different thoughts were running in her mind, she heard the creak of the door, following by a bang. Which caused her attention to shift to the direction of the noise. While her heart kept racing in panic and fear as she awaited whosoever just stepped in.
Just then, a pair of leather black shoes appeared in the doorway as the person wearing them walked in gracefully. Even as creaking noises followed the footsteps. Annah's eyes trailed the shoes and slowly moved up to the face of the owner, going from the bottom to the up.
Then, reality hit her as her instincts immediately told her that her dream was about to become a reality. She got the shock of her life as she almost jumped up from the bed in surprise.
Her blue eyes snapped at the beautiful man in front of her, taking in his entire appearance. He was tall with board shoulders and had a large intimidating frame. His eyes were dark paired with black hair, that seemed like it was roughly combed by his noble fingers. It gave him the typical cliché alpha look from all those werewolf stories books but at the same time, there was a strong aura around him that makes others shivers in fear...it was Connor Richard.
His perfect look was ruined by the scowl that was plastered on his face as his brows were furrowed. Richard's eyes were now fixed on her, emotionless with coldness written all over them. Just the same way they stared at her in the dream.
" Con..."
She trailed off, as she tried to say his name but nothing else seemed to come out of her mouth. It was as though all her words suddenly disappeared into the thin air, or she has lost the ability to formulate words.
‘What is happening to you Annah?! Speak up! Say something!ʼ
She urged herself yet nothing happened.
"Annah Showman" he called in a husky voice, laced with irritation as her name escaped from his mouth.
He walked closer, closing the gap between them as he was now standing close to the bed.
Annah flinched at the sound of his voice but she tried to remains firm and unshakable. Afterall, it's not like she could move seeing as she had been cuffed.
On the other hand, there was no reason to be afraid of him? She had done nothing wrong to the richest aloof boss in New York city. All she needs to do is to demand of her release because she has nothing to offer to someone like Connor Richard.
He chuckled in amusement when he saw the full seriousness on her face. Then bent slightly, enough to look at her properly. Before sliding back the loose strands of hair behind her ear, then lifting her eyes to level the gaze.
"It has be awhile since we last meet”, he spoke even as his eyes moved from her face to her full breasts and move down to examine the rest parts of her body.
Annah could feel the burning gaze on her skin but that waa the least of her worries. What bothered her was, never meeting Connor Richard prior to this. Yet, he implied that he had.
Surely, he must be mistaking her for someone else right? Because as far she knows, their paths have never been crossed before.
The only time she has seen him was on the TV! This was the first time she has ever been privileged to see him on person.
While she continued thinking, he continued to scrutinize her body.
It moved back up and this time, he pulled her close closing whatever space was left between them.
Annah felt his hot breath on her face as her body hair rose up, matching her fear.
This man isn't just dominant but also the definition of a hunk. Perhaps that's why she had not said a thing yet. Maybe she was tongue-tied by his looks?
"Now, let get to the main business. Where is my son?"
The question snapped her back to reality as her eyes widened in horror. His words replayed in her head over and over again. Son? Which son?
The same voice echoed in the room again, "I asked a simple question Annah, and I demand an answer!”
"Where's the son you gave birth to three years ago?"
It was only now that Annah finally realized that her dream was really happening! This was the same question he asked her in the dream and now in reality, he was also inquiring of this unknown child.
Annan had finally reached her limit with all the weirdness. If Connor Richard was bored and needed someone to play pranks on there are multiple options. She isn't the right person for that!
She was finally able to speak, “What son are you talking about??”
CHAPTER 183Connor stared at the reflection in the Mirror. The white suit looked spectacular on him. He couldn't help but notice how much he had changed since Annah walked into his life. His eyes seemed to be lighter. He smiled more often and that was a long way from when he used to think that smiling was an exercise. Well, till Annah came in and changed her. He smiled at the thought. She was worth his every smile. Only the thought of her made him feel alive inside and she couldn't wait to spend the rest of his life with her. The door creaked open as Hans, Russo and Marcus walked in. He caught the teasing glint in their eyes and tried not to smile. "How do you feel?" Hans said "How the hell do you think he's supposed to feel? It's his wedding"Russo drawled. Connor almost rolled his eyes. Considering the fact that he didn't like to associate with many people, he considered them friends. Admitting it to himself made him cringe. "I know you can't wait to see her," Hans teased. "Ju
CHAPTER 182Annah felt overwhelmed and slightly shaken from what happened earlier. She couldn't believe that Micheal had attempted to take her away from the love of her life and from her future son. She felt overwhelmed and heavy with exhaustion but at same time she also felt relieved that at least Connor and her son were okay. She wouldn't have had it any other way. She winced as Connor swiped the soaked cotton wool across her bruise tenderly. There was a sort of tension that radiated from him so it didn't take too long to figure out that he wasn't fine. He was more focused on her bruise than at looking at her."You can talk to me. There's no need to keep your emotions away from me Connor" she placed a hand over his arm. "You were about to be hurt, Annah. Micheal was about to take you away from me" he growled lowly and ran a face over his hand in frustration. Annah knew she shouldn't feel relieved at someone's death but she couldn't help it. Micheal wasn't around to torment them any
CHAPTER 181Annah felt drowsy as she woke up. Her head was spinning and the pounding in her head heightened with each movement she made. Her eyes raked over her environment and the panic began to build in her chest. All she could remember was that she had been walking with that new guard and she'd been trying to make conversation. He had abruptly given her an apologetic look before she had blanked out. She could tell from her drowsiness that she'd been heavily drugged. She looked up at the window in the room. It looked like something like a dark cellar. Alarmed, she decided to call out for help and was met with instant silence entirely. Her mind drifted to her son, to Connor. What if they weren't safe as well, anxiety gave way to full on panic and she lunged up immediately and headed towards the bar of the cellar, she tried to shake it open but it remained unmoving under her grip. Nobody was outside, from the looks of it, it seemed like she would be the only one here."Help. Anyone
CHAPTER 180Annah felt off and very conflicted. There was obviously something that Connor was not telling her. She didn't know what it was but for him to act so distant, for her to be able to sense his anxiety, it was definitely enough to set him on edge. Martha played with her son and she stared at the empty space, lost in thought. She tried to calm her racing nerves but was unable to. Martha sneaked a curious glance at her. She wondered what it could be that distracted Annah so much. Whatever it was, it must be something enough to set her on edge. Annah son was occupied with drawing on paper. The little boy has taken such a liking to art that it amazed both Annah and Martha. He was able to come up with creative things and each time Annah or Martha came across his art. It rendered both of them breathless. "Are you okay Annah, you've been staring for hours" Martha said as she looked at Annah worriedly, her face etched in concern. "I'm just worried about Connor. He's been behaving
CHAPTER 179Something was wrong. Annah could sense it from Connor as they sat at the dinner table. He was occupied with cutting his son's food into smaller pieces. Everytime she tried to ask him if he was ok. He would assure her that he was and then would back it up with a smile that wasn't in the least bit convincing. She knew when he was trying to suppress his emotions, she knew when he was trying to keep what he was feeling away from her, all because he didn't want to dampen her mood. She noted the way his shoulders were a bit tight with tension, she noted the muscles in his jaw. She considered trying to get him to admit what was bothering him, but not here. Not at the dinner table. There were maids still serving platters of food that they couldn't even quite finish. She had tried to convince him of the fact that having a near buffet for dinner wasn't always necessary. But he wouldn't listen. He's always insistent in spoiling her and thier son. Hans hanged around the dinner table
CHAPTER 178Connor felt bothered as he stared at fge screen. Hans stood beside him, his face impassive but he knew Hans was just as worried as he was. They had been unable to get a clear view of the intruder's face. All that they got was the exact detail of his build. It was almost as if the intruder was very conscious about the camera. Apparently, he was smarter than Connor gave him credit for. Hans and Connor exchanged worried glances. It was hard to miss the pasty white shade of Hans knuckles. Connor was on edge, he could feel the anxiety eating him alive from the inside out. It was hard to focus on anything. He was conflicted between flying Annah and his son, preferably to another state and than staying here. At the back of his head, he knew Micheal still found a watch him, Micheal was silently gauging his every move, making plans on the move he would make next. This wasn't something that Connor could rush. This wasn't a decision that Connor could just hastily commence."How do
