Concern

“What talk did you do with Cielo that took you so long? I was waiting for you for thirty minutes until I have finished my latte,” Mitch ranted when I went back to our table in the coffee shop.

I smiled wearily. “I’m sorry,” I said and sat on the chair. “I talked to Cielo for a bit, and then Mr. Montenegro showed up.”

“Huh?” Mitch mumbled in confusion and crossed her arms. “And how did your fiancé show up in the coffee shop?”

“He was checking on me since the dispatch who was spying on us was still around. It was hired by the chairman to find some dirt to destroy our relationship,” I said boredly, now circling the straw on the cup.

“Okay,” Mitch said and squinted her eyes, maybe noticing my exhaustion. “I think you should go home and rest. We can talk about everything next time. I know you’re tired."

"Thank you, Mitch.”
