An hour later, Cassie had packed all her things. She had expected to only have packed a suitcase, but forgot to remember that she had loads of stuff. So there were actually three instead of just one.

The alpha and beta helped her get her things to one of the cars. When they were placed in the trunk, she got hugged by each of them before getting into the vehicle and driving away. As she drove away, she could not help but glance back and feel a lingering feeling of sadness.

It was like glancing back at a part of her that was dying right before her very eyes. A tear slipped down her face, and then she turned her attention back to the road. She drove in silence, her thoughts jumping all over the place.

She knew where she was going, and it took her not too long to get there. When she had arrived, she parked in the compound and killed the engine before getting out. Her heart thumped in her chest, and she felt a bit cold.

Then her phone started ringing. She answered after pulling it out

Malek was behind the steering wheel, making his way over to a cafe where he was supposed to meet Selena. He had told her to keep it a secret; he did not want anyone to know about their meetup. There was a reason that his powers were being weird, or gone. He needed to understand, and he had a strong feeling that it had to do with the omega. This was why he had planned to meet up with her. The last time they had talked, things had gone so well. They were both on the same page, but now, he just felt like things had changed for some reason. So yeah, he made his way over to the cafe, parking across the street before killing the engine. He then sighed before removing his seatbelt. Was he nervous? Maybe, but he was more curious. He really wanted to talk to the omega. He soon got out of the car, closed the door and made his way across the street. When he reached the entrance of the building, he scanned around to see whether anything or anyone looked suspicious, but soon realized that ever

Chad stared at the blonde girl’s neck, paying very close attention, studying it. He had seen a few bites in person before, but this one was different. This was not just a normal or ordinary vampire bite. It was more than that. He pulled away, exhaling deeply. Then he locked eyes with her, and he could tell that she was dying to just know. Her eyes held fear and curiosity at the same time. “What bit you, Cassie?” Cassie’s heart skipped a beat and adjusted her blouse before looking away. Damn, he was smart. “A vampire.” Her voice was small as she stared at her hands. “Is it too late?” She did not want it to appear obvious that she had been bitten by something or someone way more powerful. “Are you sure?” He asked. “Because that does not look like it. Whatever bit you shares a trait with a vampire, but it’s more than that. It was not just a vampire, was it?” She looked over at him and could feel tears burning her eyes for some reason. She shook her head in response. He knew that if

Cassie was behind the steering wheel of one of Malek’s cars that he had allowed her to use. She was headed to meet up with someone who was going to help her reverse the effects of turning into a vampire. She had lied to Malek and had told him that she was going to meet up with an old friend from High School so they could catch up. But we all know the truth: she did not want to contaminate her bloodline. Not to sound like a narcissist, but she felt like her genes were superior to a lot of people. She felt like she was better than hybrids, omegas, witches, and humans. She was a blonde, skinny she-wolf who shifted very early into her teen years. She had blue eyes, and in this pack, that was kind of rare. She had been raised like a princess, even though her family was a dumpster fire. She was one of the most popular girls in the town, and almost everyone envied her. There was no way she was going to allow herself to become a lowly vampire, all because she wanted to make her mother pro

The question was the last thing that Selena had expected to be asked by the alpha. In fact, this was the last question she thought she would be asked by anyone anytime soon. “What…?” She was taken aback. “Councilman Vance is your father, yes?” She scoffed. “First of all, why are you speaking to me in that tone?” She fired at him. “Which tone, Selena? I’m not speaking to you in any tone,” He replied. “Please don’t start.” “Me? Start?” The omega chuckled without humor. “Are you serious right now? You’re the one who literally didn’t even hug me or say hello. You just started interrogating me as if I have commited some crime.” “That’s because you just keep keeping secrets from me!” “Secrets?” She scoffed the word out. “Secrets? Maddox, it’s my personal life. I don’t owe you any explanation about my father.” She was offended, her blood already boiling. She was so ready for this argument. “Did you tell me about your mother? Have you?” He closed the distance between her and said in a

Axiel walked out with the others, so confused about what had just happened. He felt like he should not have been in there; he felt like he should not have heard what was discussed in there. “Hey, man,” Maddox said to him, catching his attention. “Can we talk?” He nodded. “Of course,” He replied as they walked away from the group. “So what’s up?” He asked, folding his arms on his chest when they stopped. “If this is about what happened in there, then I promise you that I am not going to say a word. It’s none of my business, really.”The alpha sighed. “It is. It is about what happened in there. We still want you to train Selena when she gets back, so that does not change. But concerning what Councilman Vance confessed to about her being his daughter, no one can find out. At least not yet.” “Yeah, of course, man.” He swallowed. “As I said, it’s none of my business.” Maddox flashed him a small smile, tapping his shoulder gently before sighing. Then he turned and walked away. He joined

It went quiet in the large room, and everyone stared at the councilman, trying to mentally process what the man had just said. The alpha then broke the silence as he started laughing. He stood to his feet and started clapping too. “Nice one,” He said after his laughter and clapping had faded. Locking eyes with the man, he added, “I never took you as someone who would make jokes, but that was truly a good one.” Everyone else was quiet, though; they all noticed that the councilman had not even cracked a smile, which meant that the man was more than serious about this. “I’m not joking, Alpha Maddox,” Vance said in a monotone, locking eyes with the alpha. “Selena is my daughter. She even approached me about this a few weeks ago.” “But…” The alpha was still trying to wrap his head around all of this. He took in a deep breath and let it out as he closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them again. “How is that even possible? She’s an omega.” “Don’t you know how sex works?” The
