"Hello Alpha Atlas. I was wondering if you would be interested in coming over this evening for a meeting about strengthening the packs." He replied.
" I am too busy at the moment with paperwork and getting this set up for the Great moon festival we are having on the day of the great full moon. But I can make an exception this time for you. I'll be there around 1 pm." I stated.
"Great! See you at 1 pm Alpha Altas, enjoy the rest of your day." He stated.
I mind-linked Trevor, my Beta (I have a meeting with Alpha Drake of the Lunar Eclipse pack this afternoon and I need my Beta to attend")
(I will be waiting next to the car.") he replied back.
After hanging up with Alpha Drake, I was thinking of what could possibly be so important that he wanted me to come over this evening instead of another day.
I finally finished with my paperwork for the day and looked at my clock and it was already 10 o'clock in the morning when I went to go get ready to leave for my meeting.
We left for our little airport. At 11, if I drove instead, it would have taken me most of the day. We arrived at a small airport about 10 miles from Alpha Drake's territory. I picked up our rental and headed to his packhouse.
" I wonder what he wants to talk to you about?" my Beta said.
" He has been wanting an alliance with us for years, so I am wondering if this has to do with that, because during our phone call he did state something about strengthening our two packs." I replied.
"Strengthening the packs?" Trevor asked, confused. "We aren't under any threat of war at the moment. Why would he want to strengthen his pack more?"
"I had heard from other Alpha's that Alpha Drake was trying to find a chosen mate for his 17-year-old daughter. And he had been calling all the single Alpha's in the area to come and meet her, but he had never found one for her." I said.
" I can't imagine having a chosen mate. I would want to find my true mate, not have a chosen one. Your true mate is supposed to make your wolf stronger. But I will meet her if that's what he is wanting me to do to keep up appearances with him." I finished saying.
"What if she turns out to be your true mate, Alpha?" My Beta asked.
"If that is the case, then I will be glad to have her and our pack will finally have a Luna. But I am not going to push her to accept me if she does turn out to be," I replied. When we finally arrived at the Lunar Eclipse pack, we were greeted at the main gate by a guard shack with two tall wolves dressed like they looked like they were on the set of Men in Black. And I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of them. They seemed so serious at the post, but when they saw us pulling up they were all friendly. "Such an overkill, on outfit choice your Alpha has you wearing while on guard duty, don't you think?" I asked them. They looked at me perplexed. I just smiled at them and we were waved on through the gate.
As we approached the front of the pack house it was plain to see that Alpha Drake had gone into overdrive to prepare for our arrival. Pack members were running around setting up an outside banquet area and setting up the dining area. I didn't really intend on staying here for supper so the Alpha was wasting his time setting this up. When the car came to a stop two of the Alpha's bodyguards walked up and proceeded to open my side door so I could exit the car. "Show off" I thought to myself. But when I exited the car and looked around, my wolf started to become uneasy and wanted out.``What's up with you?" I asked my wolf. "Can you feel it?" He replied. I didn't feel anything except for his uneasiness and eagerness to get out. I told him to calm down and pulled him back into my mind. "Good Afternoon Alpha Atlas. Our Alpha is waiting for you in his office. We will take you right to him." All I did was nod in agreement. I really didn't want to be here. But Alpha Drake really wanted me to come here and for his so-called alliance talks.
After walking up three flights of stairs and down a long hallway we came upon a large double oak door at the very end of the hall. The guard knocked on the door before opening it and announced our arrival to his Alpha. "Well them in you idiot." Alpha Drake said. Well that was rude I thought to myself as the guard opened the door fully for me and my beta to enter. My beta looked at me with a questionable look in his eyes and mind linked me. "Is this Alpha serious talking to his gaudy like that in front of another Alpha and this guy wants an alliance with us. If it were me I would have turned around and left." My beta said before shutting off the mind link. I looked back at my beta and smiled at him with what he said to me. I would reply back through the mind link to him but it is just as rude to do so during a meeting unless it was an emergency.
I introduced myself and my beta to Alpha Drake who looked at my beta and asked "Can he please wait outside the door while me and your Alpha discuss things?" Is he serious right now I thought to myself you want me to dismiss my beta from a pack related meeting not happening bud. And rudeness is really starting to get on my nerves. "Sorry Alpha Drake but my beta attends every meeting with me and is also my personal bodyguard so he will be staying with us. Now what sort of business are you wanting to discuss? Alpha Drake." I said trying to remain calm.
"Alpha Atlas' ' Alpha Drake began with my title. He must really want something from. I laughed to myself inside. He continues "As you may not know I have a daughter and I am looking for a chosen mate for her. Now this arrangement could work out for both our packs."Now that she has come of age to be married". Is this man crazy and not letting his daughter try and find her fated mate and is making her take a chosen mate."Alpha Drake why are you not wanting her to find her fated mate?" I asked, feeling really pissed now. I know that when a werewolf finds their fated mate it makes them stronger. And denying his daughter that is absolutely wrong. He didn't reply to my question right off hand but he continued saying "Well to be honest with you Alpha Atlas I am sick and whatever it is my wolf can't heal it. And I fear that I am not going to be around long enough for her to find her fated mate. Don't get me wrong, I would love for her to find her fated mate. But my time is near an end and I need her future to be secured. But I am worried that no male would want her considering that she has no wolf."
One year later, "Kale, come down here right now! Everyone has arrived!" Kara yelled at our child as he flew over our heads. "Coming mother," Kale yelled back. Kale soared through the sky, his bright little phoenix form spinning as it dove towards the ground. Kale landed lightly on the ground, shifted into his human form, put on his suit and ran towards the crowd. Everyone was standing in the backyard waiting for him. The backyard was festively decorated with balloons, streamers, and party poppers were being popped as he ran by. Today was his first birthday. I can not believe that I have died not once but twice. I looked around everyone as they were laughing and having fun. Kale and his friends were over by the petting zoo playing with all the different animals. I could not help but feel a little uneasy though, because I knew my son would never have a regular normal life in our pack due to him being like me. But I wanted him to give him the normal life that he deserved. As I was lost i
"What do you mean by that?" Atlas asked with a worried look on his face. "It's nothing serious, I just need a blood sample, that is all, but I need it from your heart." the dragon said as he went to the altar and waited for Atlas to respond. Atlas looked at the dragon questioningly. "From my heart?" Atlas managed to finally ask. The dragon looked at him and nodded his head as he motioned Atlas up to the altar. Atlas followed and when he came up beside the dragon, he drew up a claw and stabbed Atlas in the heart and with a quick breath of a tiny stream of fire burned the hole, slit his own wrist and gave it to Atlas to drink, with he reluctantly did. As he drank the blood, Atlas' wound became fully healed. The dragon then placed a few droops of the blood from Atlas' heart on the altar. "I need you to clear your head and think about Kara and your unborn pup," the dragon told Atlas. Only thinking of Kara and his unborn pup, Apollo begins to become unsettled in the back of Atlas' mind. Whi
After what felt like hours, nothing happened. Atlas knew then that Kara was not coming back. Apollo hauled inside his head, but not in fear, but in sorrow and anger. Atlas was certain that Kara would come back. But after lighting the fire and waiting what seemed like forever and nothing happened like the first time he did that, after she was killed by the Grimlock, Atlas was beside himself and collapsed to the ground drying in agony. His beloved Kara was gone for good. And what hurt him even more, his pup was dead as well. As his mom approached him to console him, he looked up at her and Apollo growled at her. He wouldn't let anyone near Atlas because he knew that if Atlas went down this path he would be able to take control and shift and take their pain out on everyone in the pack. Apollo, as upset as he was, did not want to do that. He held back from shifting but feeling his human's pain was making it hard for him to fight shifting. So, instead, he went and built a wall inside Atlas'
Atlas was beside himself all the way back to his and Kara's house. When Atlas made it back to the oak house he went straight upstairs to his and Kara's bedroom. He could smell her scent in the room. He turned around and locked the door. Atlas hadn't heard Apollo since leaving the hospital, but he could feel him. As he was walking round, his beta knocked on the door. Atas walked up to the door and unlocked it but didn't open it. He’s beta let himself in. When he closed the door, Atlas was already standing in front of his bar in his room pouring a few drinks. Atlas handed his beta a glass and as soon as he took it, Atlas drank all of his and poured himself another and gulped it down. But instead of pouring another, he took the bottle off the shelf and began taking big swigs out of the bottle, wanting to wash today's events out of his head and Kara out of his mind. His beta sensed that Atlas was on a downhill spiral, so he had to try and help him. "Alpha?" his beta asked. Atlas looked at
One day I was walking into the kitchen, I felt the worst pain that I had ever had in my life. Calypso my wolf started howling in my head. "You're going into labor, you need to get Atlas now." she yelled. I linked Atlas and told him what was going on. Before I knew it, he was running into the house. He ran up to me as another wave of pain came over my body. As he wrapped me in his arms, I felt a warm wet gush of fluid hit the floor. "I believe my water just broke!" I exclaimed to Atlas. Atlas quickly linked to our pack doctor and rushed me out the front door. When we got to the car, his beta was already waiting for us. I had another wave of pain shooting through my body. Atlas helped me into the car and cradled me in his lap as his beta drove us to the pack hospital. By the time we got there, I was in so much pain I thought I couldn't take it anymore. "Something's wrong." I softly whispered to Atlas as he helped me out of the car. "You will be fine Kara, I am sure this pain you are feel
A month later, I woke up feeling really sick. I ran to the bathroom and threw up what I had left over from dinner the night before. Atlas came running in behind me and held my hair back while I continued to spill my stomach into the toilet. He called his mom to come over. Once I was done, I rinsed my mouth out and when I walked into the bedroom she was already in my room with Atals and me. "I called the doctor, she should be here any moment." She said. "Why would I need a doctor? I am sure it's just a bug." I replied. "Or it could mean something else," his mom said with a smile. "You think she could be having a pup?" Atals asked. "That's exactly what I mean. Kara dear, when was your last cycle?" she said, smiling at me. I looked at her confused and then it hit me. "I haven't had one since we mated that night." I said. "Then we will know for sure when the doctor arrives. But you need to eat first. If there is a pup in you, you will need all the nutrients you can get." she said as she we
