You are not a burden

Natasha's POV

After the fallout in the room that Ryan witnessed I was completely embarassed, helplessly telling him that I was weak and I wanted to punish my mate for rejecting me. I said all kinds of weird things that I couldn't bring myself to look Ryan in the eye after that.

But the strange thing was that he understood me.

“Good morning Susan.”

I was now familiar with everyone in the house including the huge men. They all welcomed me except Connor who was always snapping at me but he was still nice at least they all treated me like a person and not like a slave.

“Good morning Natasha,how was your night?” Susan greeted.

We were in the kitchen and she was preparing breakfast.I moved to the sink and started washing the dishes from last night.

“Natasha I can do it, you shouldn't bother yourself.” I smiled at her words and continued with the notion.

“I'm used to this.” I told her.

“You wake up early like Alpha Ryan does.” Susan said as she stuck the bread into the toast machine.

Ryan wakes up early too?

I was used to the ungodly hours because of Teresa and Irene. I sighed inwardly I wondered if they were worried about my disappearance.

“I don't usually see you around, don't you stay here?” I asked Susan.

Unlike the rest I knew they lived here but I haven't seen Susan coming out of any room.

“That's true,i come here once the workloads is much.” She replied.

“Don't worry I promise to relieve you of that burden.” I smiled at her.

Ryan walked into the kitchen and I froze I guess he had just finished his early morning run,he was shirtless and his hair was wet. Sincerely he was something to look at his abs were like that of a rock ,his biceps was that of a god.

“Are you done ogling me?” Ryan cleared his throat and my face flushed.

“Good morning Alpha.” Susan chuckled.

“Good morning Susan.” He responded.

I turned to the plates I was washing in embarrassment not minding Susan and Ryan conversation. Ryan soon made coffee and went back outside, Susan laughed when he was out.

“Don't worry Alpha is used to that reaction from women.” She chuckled.

“Is something wrong with the food?” Xavier asked me.

We were in the dinning room Ryan, Xavier,Connor, Dante,Lisa,Liam and I.I was feeling nauseous at the aroma of the food so I couldn't eat. Xavier was the first to notice me, they all stopped eating as soon as Xavier popped the question. I straightened my back and cleared my throat.

“No, I'm just feeling nauseous.” I told him.

“I'll call Luke.” Ryan took out his phone.

“No, I will be fine.” I stopped him.

It wasn't something strange, I've heard of pregnant women having this feeling. The aroma of the food was getting to me i couldn't take it anymore,I stood up and ran to the toilet and emptied my stomach content. I threw up a multiple of times before my system agreed to stop. I turned on the tap and rinsed my face and mouth before going out.

“You scared me!” My heart almost leaped out of my chest when I opened the bathroom door and find Ryan standing with his hands crossed.

“Are you sure you don't want Luke to come over?” Ryan arched his eyebrows.

“It's normal for a pregnant woman to throw up, you don't have to disturb him.” I reminded him.

“If you say so.” He then brought out a case and gave it to me.

“What's this?” I took it eyeing the packaged box.

“A phone.” He answered.

“A phone?” My eyes widened.

“Go on open it.”

I tore the package and brought out the brand new phone when I saw the model I almost fainted.

“Isn't this too expensive?” I pushed the phone back to him.

Ryan was spending a lot on me,the designers wears he stocked in my wardrobe could buy my entire generation now he got a phone.

“I want you to have it.” He pushed it back to me.

“I feel guilty.” I bowed my head.

I was leeching on him which was bad.

“Why?” He raised my chin so I could look him in the eyes.

“Because I'm a burden and-”

“Did I ever tell you that?” He cut me short. “Trust me,even if you want to buy the whole city it won't make a dent in my pocket.” He smirked and walked outside.

“Luke will come check you when he's done in the hospital.”He said before leaving my room.

I sighed and slumped on my bed, soon Lisa came to check on me.

“Hey,how are you feeling?” She sat next to me,she sounded worried.

“I'm fine.” Lisa and the men didn't know I was pregnant, I didn't know if I should tell them or maybe Ryan already told them.

“If you say so aren't you hungry you didn't have anything for breakfast.”

“I'm not that hungry.”

To be honest,I was hungry but I was scared of throwing up again.It only makes me weak.

“What about the guys?”

“Dante ate your food and was scolded by Ryan and Xavier.” She sputtered a laugh.

“Anyway they have an operation to carry out so they won't be home till later in the night.”

I wonder what kind of operation it is?

“So?” Lisa stood up “What should we do since we're home alone?”

“How about I show you round the house then we can play some tricks on Dante bike!”

“Are you sure?” Dante had Lisa didn't get along, they always bicker.

“Is this the phone Ryan got you?” Lisa pointed at the box.

“Yeah.” I showed her the phone.

“Ryan does have his ways.” She giggled.

“What do you mean?” I frowned.

“Come on don't tell me you haven't noticed.” Lisa facepalmed herself.

“Seen what?” I still don't get her point.

“The way he looks at you says it all.” She smirked. “He likes you.” She leaned and whispered in my ears.

“You are wrong.” I shook my head.

There is no way he would fall for someone like me, what Lisa noticed wasn't true if there's any feeling that will be the feeling of pity.

Ryan doesn't like me,he pities me.
