When Dante opened his eyes he realized he's been strapped and tied to the same chair just like the girls. His head was throbbing in pain and his eyes were trying to adjust to the brightness.
When he finally opened his eyes, he blinked back and saw Williams holding the tip of a knife, twirling the knife while Natalie yelled at him.
The noise was making his head foggy and gave him a massive headache.
He knew he had to speak up but saying anything would reveal the truth immediately. Still, he couldn't help himself.
"Williams!" He yelled.
Natalie snapped her head towards Dante and saw him glaring at Mr. Scar calling him 'Williams' which could only mean his name.
Six Years Ago"Mom! I'm home," Natalie hollered as she stepped into the sitting room. Her mom wasn't there and neither was she in the kitchen. She headed towards the room and heard a soft moan from the bathroom."Mom?" She called softly."In here, Nat. Just a sec."She heaved a sigh of relief at the sound of her mother's voice.A few minutes later, her mom came out flashing her a dazzling smile. Natalie eyed her suspiciously."What's got you in such a good mood?""How was school today, Nat?" Her mom asked ignoring her q
"I've never been to the movies before."Dan gave her an odd look. "Never?"She shook her head. "Plus I'm waiting till I'm sixteen."Natalie chuckled at Dan's mortified expression. She had just returned from school and was rejoicing it was the weekends so she wouldn't have to go to school till Monday.Dan had met her in her excited state and suggested an outing to start her weekend."It's not compulsory to be sixteen before going to the movies," he pointed out.She nodded. "I know it's not but I wish to do it like that.""Fine, I understand," he replied grudgingly.
Monday. The worst day of the week but somehow Natalie couldn't escape it. Partially because she was still a high school student and she wasn't an adult yet.Grumbling under her breath and muttering curses not fit for fifteen years old, Natalie dressed up for school in her black skinny jeans, white crop top, and her black leather jacket. She finished her dressing with black boots and light make-up before strutting downstairs. She may be the kid they picked on in school but it didn't stop her from looking her best especially on Mondays."Breakfast is ready, Natalie!"She quickened her pace at the sound of her mother's voice and raced downstairs grabbing a slice of bread smeared with jam and a cu
Natalie heard the screeching of tires and she was quick to stop Noah from running towards the sound of the cars.Peeking out through the shed, she saw unfamiliar Hilux pull into their compound with lots of unfamiliar men stepping down from the car.A shiver ran through her spine and she hid her brother carefully in the shed warning him not to step out before she crept out of the shed and headed towards the back of the house. Her mom was standing on the porch waiting for them to come and have lunch so she had seen the cars that drove into the compound."Hello, how may I help you?" She tried her best to sound polite while Natalie peeked at them from her hiding spot. She watched the men drag her
Dante stared at the cliff. His head was aching and he was starting to feel light-headed. She had fallen down the cliff and he had done nothing to save her.He had watched her fall down the cliff without fighting for her life. She had fallen into the water probably hitting a rock or drowning.Either way, she was dead and he hadn't been able to stop her. He could have confessed and not given Xavier the joy of breaking them up.Xavier.That single name sent rage through his spine. Whirling around he saw him sitting on the floor with his hands on his head."I didn't mean it like this, you are supposed to suffer not get the easy way out," Xavier kept muttering repeatedly.
She was falling freely losing all her will to live. She had lost everything, the very reason for living had been destroyed.Every part of her body was in pain not from physical pain but from emotional trauma. How could he lie to her? She had been sleeping with a murderer and she didn't know. She had accepted to marry him, slept on his bed, laughed and joked with him without knowing he was the sole reason for her fear. She had accepted her fate that she was going to die when suddenly she remembered her brother.Noah.She had left him in the hands of these murderers, she had to save him but she had to save herself first.
The road was dark and there was snow everywhere. Sean drove quietly knowing Christmas was around the corner. His mind drifted to a lot of places. He still could not forgive himself for her death but he wouldn't let the guilt eat away his remaining time on earth.Time and time again, he asked himself what would have been different if he hadn't sacrificed them.Perhaps, they would still live in hiding, haunting, and taunting his every move while he kept lying to everyone that mattered to him.Sean chuckled darkly. He was willing to face the truth and say that nothing ever mattered to him or rather no one.Sean Durango looked out for himself only and no one else.
"Come on, you can do this!"Natalie scoffed before lying down on the bed again. There was no way Trish was gonna talk her into using crutches and parading around a place she barely knew.Trish sighed. "It's the only way to help you walk again.""I will find another way, I'm not picking that thing up," Natalie snapped."I understand your fear but using crutches doesn't mean you're crippled, it's to aid the muscles of the legs...""Trish.""Yeah?""Are you a doctor?""No, but..."&nbs
