Valerie Hernandez
I try to reeve the car engine but still is not working. I groaned as I hit the steering wheel. Why can’t this car just turn on?
"Still working on the car?" I jumped as Tyler's face appear on the window next to me. "You scared me," he smirked as I glared at him. I open the car door and got out. "Still not working?"
"No, I don’t know what is wrong."
"Come on, I’ll help." He opens his leather jacket and placed it on the chair. He took the wrench to open the part of the engine. The two of us start working while discussing the minus part of the car. "So you’re not going anywhere today?"
"Nope, my friend asked me to join them to go shopping for a dress for homecoming but I decline and said I’m busy."
"Why?"
"Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy shopping but I rather spend hours in the garage than walking around from store to store for hours."
"I thought you are the type of
Valerie Hernandez"Val," I looked up and saw Julia is making her way to my locker. I smile and waved my hand to her. She then stood in front of me looking excited. "You look radiant, what’s the matter?""I found the perfect dress for me yesterday." I raised my eyebrow at her. "You are excited because of a dress?""Yeah but my excitement is mainly because of a certain someone.""Who’s that person?""I met a cute guy yesterday at the mall and we just clicked." She said excitedly. I looked at her surprised but broke into a smile. "Well I am happy for you Julia," I hugged her. "Thank you, I will bring him to meet you guys sometimes or we can go out on a double date, how’s that?
Valerie Hernandez"Come on Val! I didn’t mean it." I ignore andy as I make my way to the cafeteria. "Val!" a few students are looking at us weirdly because Andy kept calling my name. "I’m sorry!"I stop walking and turned around suddenly which almost make Andy crash to me but luckily, he managed to steady himself. "What the hell Andy! You threw a freaking paper ball and asked what happend? Why couldn't you text me instead of throwing a paper? What is this the 16 centuries?""Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I’m just curious and thought that you wouldn’t open your phone." I hissed at him. "Because of your thoughts, I nearly get detention." Turning around, I continue my walk to the cafeteria. As I arrived at the cafeteria, I drop my bag on the table with a pissed of looked.
Valerie Hernandez "Where Should I hang this?" I asked one of the comittee. "Just hang it there but you need one more person to help you." "Okay, I'll go ask for help." She nodded then continue to give a pointer to the other students. I bring the very long tassel to the corner then laid it down on the floor. Now all I need is a ladder. "Need some help?" A voice starled me from behind. I jumped and put my hand on my chest. Turning around, I glared at the person. "What the hell? Do you always do that?" "Do what?" "Scared me!" "Oh... you were starled? I didn't know." he said innocently and I hissed at him. "What are you doing here anyway?" I narrowed my eyes at him. "Don't tell me..." "If you're thinking that I'm following you, you're thinking too much." I rolled my eyes. "Who knows, maybe you're obssesed with me." I bent down to pick up the tassel. "If you're not followi
Valerie Hernandez"You're done with your friend's car?" Trevor asked as he came walking in. "Not yet though, seems like he presses the brake too hard and it causes the brake pads to wear down.""Can you fix it?""I can but I can't finish it now. Maybe tomorrow.""As long as your friend is okay with
Valerie Hernandez"So... how's my car doing?" I turned to Andrew who slides next to me. I put my food down then swallowed. "About your car, I thought that it is not that bad like probably a day everything will be settled. But I was wrong, your brake pads are broken so it needs to be changed and I don't think today or tomorrow is done.""Why?" He said scrunching his eyebrow. "Because today, I have to help the others to decorate for homecoming. A part of my detention, remember? Then, tomorrow is the day of the playoffs and I do not want to miss it. So your car will be done on Monday or Tuesday, I guess.""Can it be done a little faster?""Well, it can if I took a night shift." Slowly a grin appeared on his face. "Then take the night shift."
Valerie Hernandez "I'm going, mom," I said as I pick up the trash. I walked out with the trash bag in my hand. I dump the trash inside the garbage bin. I dusted my hands then looked up only to see Tyler just arrived. He walked out of his car without noticing me standing outside. "Oi," I called him. He turned around then raised his eyebrow. "Where have you been?" I asked. "Practice." I furrowed my eyebrow. "Till 6?" He nods. "Wow, no wonder you look like shit." He rolled his eyes and ignore me. That's strange, he usually always made a snarky remark at me. That's so unlike him. "Hey, are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired."
Valerie HernandezMy eyes fluttered open as I heard the birds chirping. I sat up, yawning while stretching my limbs. I slid my feet off from my bed then do my morning routine. Opening my wardrobe, I took the clothes that I first laid my eyes on. A pair of skinny jeans and a white hoodie. Wearing my white sneakers, I grab my bag from the couch and sling it to my shoulder. After I'm done, I head downstairs to the kitchen. Dad is facing the stove making breakfast. I plopped down the stool. "Morning dad,""Morning sweetie." He replied without glancing at me as he flips the pancakes he's making. "I thought you're already head to the diner.""I decided to take a day off.""And who will watch the diner?"
Valerie Hernandez "Aren't you guys excited for today's game?" Carmen said excitedly as we made our way inside our rival school. Julia and I shared a looked before chuckling. "You said that because you want to check out the guys right?" Julia said. Carmen faces us while walking backward. "No, who said that. I'm here to cheer our team. Go whales!!" She shouted and people around us looked at us weirdly. "Okay, you can save the energy for later though," I said while chuckling. I then pulled her arm. "How about you Val, aren't you excited to see your boyfriend playing?" Carmen tilt her head to face me. "Yeah, of course, I am," I reply as I shoot her a small smile. "Aw... you two are the sweetest couple," Carmen said. The three of us head inside the gym that is now packed with a lot of people. I saw the students from our school painted their cheeks yellow and black. They also wear basketball jerseys. Same as our school rival, the leopards.
