The mistake
PROLOGUE
“Dahlia, sumama kana sa amin. Palagi ka na lang tumatanggi sa amin.” saad ng kanyang kaibigan na si Jane.
“Sorry talaga, Jane pero hindi talaga ako mahilig pumunta sa bar.” sagot niya sa kanyang kaibigan.
“Minsan lang naman. Please, birthday ko naman ngayon eh. Kahit ngayon lang,” saad pa nito sa kanya.
“Baka nandoon ang kuya ko.” saad niya kay Jane.
“Sino? Si Axel ba? Sigurado ako na nandoon siya pero isuot mo na lang ito para hindi ka niya makilala. Nasa legal age kana at dapat nga may boyfriend kana ngayon. Balak mo bang maging matandang dalaga. Masyadong strict ang isa mong kuya.” saad nito sa sabay abot ng isang maskara.
Napatingin siya at nagdadalawang isip kung tatanggapin ba niya ito o hindi. Legal age na siya pero alam niya na magagalit ang Kuya Axel niya kapag pumunta siya sa mga bar. Isa rin sa dahilan kaya kahit na nasa tamang gulang na siya ay hindi pa siya nagkakaroon ng kasintahan. Palagi kasing sinasabi ng kanyang kuya na dapat ipakilala niya ang manliligaw niya sa mga ito. Over protective ito na para bang napaka-possessive na tao.
Sa dalawang kuya niya ay si Kuya Axel niya ang hindi niya gaanong kinakausap. Suplado ito sa kanya at palagi na lang galit kapag siya kausap nito. Iniiwasan niya ito dahil tuwing nasa malapit ito ay bumibilis ang t*bok ng kanyang puso. Alam niyang mali kaya umiiwas na lang siya.
“Ano na Dah? Sasama ka na ba?” naiinip na tanong uli ni Jane sa kanya.
“Huh?”
“Sabi ko sasama ka ba sa amin o hindi?”
“Sige sasama ako sa inyo.” nakangiti na sagot niya.
“Yes! It’s time to party! Sa wakas na kumpleto rin tayo.” Sigaw ng mga kaibigan niya.
Napangiti na lang si Dahlia. Dahil sa tagal na nilang magkakaibigan ay ngayon pa lang sila naging kumpleto. Suot ang isang black na backless dress ay pumasok sila sa loob ng isang sikat na bar. Nang makita na nila ang iba nilang kasama ay nagsimula na rin ang party. Unang beses na iinum siya ng mga nakakalasing na alak. Pagbibigyan na niya ang sarili niya ngayon lang naman kaya siguro okay lang.
Lumalalim na ang gabi at unti-unti na siyang nalalasing. Hanggang sa natanaw niya ang kanyang Kuya Axel na nakikipag-inuman kasama ang barkada nito at may mga babae rin itong kasama. Sa inis niya ay inisang lagok niya ang alak na nasa baso niya. Alam niya na babaero ang kuya niya kaya nasasaktan siya tuwing nakikita niya na may iba itong hinnahalikan. Nakaramdam na siya ng pagka-hilo pero hindi niya ito ininda. Naglakad si Dahlia papunta sa gitna at sumayaw. Sumasabay ang katawan niya sa beat ng kanta.
Nang mapagod na siya ay naglakad siya papunta sa banyo.
“Dahlia, okay lang ‘yan. Masakit talaga kapag hindi ka mahal ng taong mahal mo.” kausap niya sa kanyang sarili.
Lumabas na si Dahlia at hindi niya inaasahan na hihilain siya ni Axel. Hindi siya nagsalita dahil alam niya na makikilala siya ng kanyang kapatid.
“I like you. We can go to my place if you want?” tanong nito sa kanya.
Tumango siya bilang sagot kaya mabilis siyang hinila ni Axel papunta sa kotse nito. Bago sila umalis ay siniil muna siya ng isang mapusok na halik. Nawala ang kalasingan ni Dahlia sa ginawa ng kanyang kuya. Hindi niya kayang pigilan ang damdamin niya at ipinagkaloob niya ang kanyang sarili sa kanyang kuya. Kahit na alam niyang mali.
“Sorry kuya, pero mahal kita.” saad ni Dahlia bago nilisan ang condo ng kanyang Kuya Axel.
