Himari’s POV.-Of all mistakes I could’ve made, why did I end up attracting such a malignant Demon?Once again, I’ve hit such bad luck and death refuses to desist from my shadows. Looking at the cruel mischief sitting on his sinfully attractive face, I let out a hefty sigh of resignation. Probably, it meant that for me to have a better life than this, I needed to give up the life I’m living in other to fulfill the prerequisite to attaining a new one. I smile through my tears as I rasp airily, “Go ahead...bring an end to my misery, Demon”. It’s not like a girl like me can go against such a fearsome creature like him. I was only lucky that night and lucks aren’t reoccurring.“There’s no fun ending something with such sickening self-abasement” His face contorts into a dark rage and I yelp, being thrown to the floor. I smack my body so heavily, falling on my back with a painful cry.The Demon steps over my head, looking down at me with intrinsic disgust as he stiffly moves h
Zorien’s POV.-“H-help me...”For centuries, the Werewolves, the largest in population among the Were-beings, and us, Demons, have been in an antagonistic war. It’s been ongoing for so many years that I’ve come to forget the meaning of it over time. What had been the embers of such an irredeemable inferno? Hm, had it been because we couldn’t stand each other’s guts?I watch the she-wolf breathe her last at my feet with repine. What is it about this feeble creature I had chosen to keep a keen watch over since the day she had been conceived in her mother’s womb? I don’t take a fondness for such uncouth and uncultured animals; especially ones who’re ever obnoxious enough to have kept baring their fangs at us for many centuries.Yet, I can’t refute the force of nature that’s tied a red string of fate around my finger in attachment to hers. For a life spanning over a century, I’ve courted four mates in those times. All of which were of the same race as me. Then I had caught a str
Zorien’s POV.-Suddenly, she moves and I retract my claws and keep my face close behind her head. She realizes something restricting her from making a turn and instead of turning the other way and returning to sleep, she surprises me by continuously pushing against me.“I see the pup I took in has festered enough. Return to sleep.”Her shivering from my cold tone ceases after a few minutes and she’s breathing evenly again. I pull her close to me so easily that my eyes twitch. I expected her to have fattened up at least a little. Oh, Tess did say she had slept all day. What is wrong with me? Why should I even care about her health at all?I press my nostrils against her hair, inhaling the rich lush greens and lavender...dang it, it’s too much of a pull even with my reinforced restraints. My other arm greedily digs beneath to wrap her torso, pulling her into my chest as I give in to her alluring delicate scent. What do I do with this pup? On one hand, I want to end her life
Himari’s POV.-“Tsk, I was wondering where that awful stench kept pervading from. So it was you, filthy little human.”I receive Flynn’s support to stand up, now seeing the imposing assertive aura that’s been burning against my back. Striking features comprising of scrutinizing derogatory lime-green orbs, a pointed nose, and red glossy twisted lips, all on a porcelain scowling face. She wears her wavy black-olive long hair in a flow down her back, holding an arrogant stance as she berates me into nothing.“Are you okay?” I hear Flynn’s worry and manage a strained nod, watching the tall and slender beauty marching toward me.“What audacity you have-"“Kitra, stop it.” That’s the Demon’s voice. Oh, he finally decides to say something. Tension slips into the air as Kitra now directs her glare towards the Demon, curtly eying me in a way that says she’ll get back to me later as she changes the direction of her gait to where they are.“What the hell, Zorien! Do you have any i
Himari’s POV.-Zorien steps out of the bathroom with a white towel tied around his waist and another over his dripping hair. My eyes bulge out and my jaw slackens.‘W-what in the moon is he doing?!’ Every nerve ending in my body seems to be vibrating as he lifts both his taunt arms to rub the towel roughly in his hair. And here I am, frozen like a statue and having a free show of his saliva-inducing wet body. Chiseled molded six-pack hinged to perfection into that wet sinful body; defined and drool-worthy muscly arms and a deeply carved V-line that plunges dangerously to disappear beneath the towel struggling to hold onto his lower body.‘Censor your eyes, Himari’ I squirm restlessly, biting down on my nails to hide my beet-red face. How dare he snag up such good looks for himself? Has he no shame when he sees other males? This is beyond conventional! It’s not normal.“Heh, what’re you acting all shy for, pup? I know how much you’ve been looking forward to this.” A sickly-sw
Himari’s POV.-Zorien nearly had me getting a heart attack when he suddenly interrupted my free morning show earlier. All I did was jump out of bed with Oriel and a scorching face as I run to my room, and got down to prepare for school. I let out a sigh now, adjusting the sling of my bag above my shoulder when the front of my rope sandals jerks into something.I fall forward, bracing for a nasty impact. “And catch!” Huh? I blink to see arms around me and my chin pressed against a shoulder. Soft jasmine filters into my nose and I’m being helped into a right stance with warm palms clapping down my shoulders.“That would’ve been a nasty fall for sure. Are you okay?”Worried honeydew orbs meet mine and I blink, returning to the moment as I rush a reply. “Yeah, t-thanks”.“Now, for the wrench responsible for the near-fall just now...” I hear an angry grunt, looking up to see she’s glowering at something behind me as she concludes, “...Kitra.”It’s my turn to look to see who sh
Himari’s POV.-“You really are testing my patience with you, pup. Do you want to die that badly?”Zorien?! A cold shiver sears down my body and I’m coming free from the untoward attack, coughing chestily as his hand secures the back of my neck fiercely. I whimper, pleading as tears swarm in my eyes, trying to at least graze off a tiny piece of the glacial layer in his condemning eyes.“Why didn’t I find you cooped up in my bed? Do you relish in the torments I cause you that much? What are you, a masochist?” He laughs cruelly and I fearfully shake my head, wobbly lips parting to save myself from his accusation.“Kitra...s-she said I w-wasn’t n-needed since y-your g-girlfriend w-was w-with you” I wheeze desperately, my respiration greatly affected by his grip at my nape.Zorien lets me go with a curse and I gather myself away from him, hands feeling around my hurting neck as I try to calm my racing heart and jagged breath. He slips out of the bed, standing straight in his si
Himari’s POV.-I pace back and forth at the foot of the stairwell, biting my nail in wait for Ciel. There’s no way I can climb up, what if I bump into the grumpy Zorien or the spiteful Kitra? None is better than the other. I deflate in turmoil, stopping my pace, this is so nerve-wracking.“Himari, what’re you pacing about for?” I shoot my head up swiftly and see Ciel standing in the middle of the stairwell with deep laugh lines around his squinty eyes, and I flush sheepishly, doodling at my feet.“Come up here, let’s go to my room” He invites casually, setting a blaring alarm in my head as I meet him with shock. Did he just mention his bedroom? Runa snickers at me, ‘Ready to bail out now as I had proposed earlier?’Yet, I find myself following after him. We meet the spiteful Kitra on the way. She sees me and frowns. Ciel shields me, keeping a straight face at her as he opens the door to a room. “Get in, Mari”.His bedroom is so different from Zorien’s, having large posters
