Chapter Eight.

Himari’s POV.

As Tess brings me to wooden large double doors, my pensiveness steams off my head as I turn to her in a panic. Tess sighs softly, waving her fingers back to signal the other maids to leave us alone in the spacious hallway. I glance up at the imposing heavy doors with golden ornate curved handles, and I swallow a threatening lump. I can’t seem to summon ease into my rattling system.

“Himari, there’s nothing to feel so paranoid about. It’s just a meal with the master, or do you wish to impale the impression he’s been informed about you?” She catches my fretful eyes with her encouraging ones and I still, forcing my racing nerves to calm down for a bit by intertwining my fingers.

I shake my head against it, “N-not at all. I wish to express my gratitude for his help”. I tell her my heart and watch her face contort to display a full smile as she brings her hands to place them over my small shoulders.

And looking down at me, she quickly adds, “That’s right, now, let's
