Chapter 6

She takes me on a tour of the whole house and it really is bigger on the inside. I feel like I've walked a hundred miles. Maybe I'm just out of shape. Every hunt I've been on, Axel has taken lead. It leaves me a little tired afterwards but walking this much on my own two feet really have me exhausted.

She showed me where the activity room was but I doubt I'd ever go in there. I wouldn't know how to use anything. She also showed me where the laundry room and the Omegas quarters were for the ones who decided to live here. Other omega's got houses if they chose to leave the pack house and most did when they found their mate.

She showed my where the pantry was and where Marie hid the best snacks for her. She told me I was more than welcome to have anything. If it was the last thing just let Marie know or Jessi, her second in command omega.

After the walk through she took me back upstairs and showed me her room. It was similar to the one I was staying in but she had black bedding and everything was a little darker colored. In the corner is a book case filled from top to bottom of all kinds of genres. Next to that was a little dresser with a few picture frames on top.

Among the pictures frames was a globe that looked like the moon. I picked it up and to look at it closer and it even had the same markings of the moon. She comes over and pressed a button on it and it lights up. When the lights turned off I freaked out and dropped the globe.

"I'm so sorry!" I say bending down to pick it up.

"It's okay. It's my fault. I should have warned you I was turning off the lights. I just wanted to show you what it looks like in the dark. I turn this on when there is no moon out. It calms me." She says while taking the globe. "It reminds me of my dad. He was Alpha, obviously, before me and we used to spend almost every night on the roof staring at the moon until my mom would yell at us to come down for bed." She smiles. Her smile is so pretty it lights up the room. No need for a lamp. She catches me staring and I look away but not before catching her grin at me.

"What happened to your dad?" Her smile fades.

"He was killed by another Alpha. He was trying to connect our packs so we could be allies in case there was a strong enemy. We are not a big pack but we can hold our own for awhile. My father just wanted that extra strength so we wouldn't lose so many if we ever went to battle."

"So the other Alpha didn't want an alliance? Isn't it illegal to kill an Alpha for no reason?"

"Yes it is. He claimed my father tried to kill him while he slept but that's not true. My father wouldn't hurt anyone. The high council didn't believe him either. They especially didn't believe him when his own Luna came forward and testified that he was lying. From what I heard from those who were there, he was beating her and she saw her opportunity to get rid of him." She pauses and smiles at me again. Putting the globe back on the dresser she leads me to a couple of chair by the window and motions for me to sit.

"His Luna promised my mother her pack after he died as a sign of apology though she knew that wouldn't bring him back to us. She moved on last I heard, looking for her second chance mate. My mother...my mother tried to stay strong for me but after a few years she just couldn't take her mate not being here anymore. She left me a note and killed herself. She apologized for leaving me and explained that the mate bond was just to strong to ignore anymore. When a mate dies the bond goes away but it takes a long time. If my father had a chance to reject her before he died, her pain wouldn't have been as bad."

"How old were you?" I ask as I go to sit next to her.

"9 when my father died and 13 when my mother passed."

"I'm so sorry." She looks at me with teary eyes and smiles and then looks down, I follow her gaze and realize I put my hand on hers without knowing. I quickly pull back.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't realize I had done that."

"It's okay. I don't mind. You don't have to be scared of me you know."

I nod. Not even a full day has passed and I feel more and more comfortable here but a part of me is still worried something bad is going to happen.

"You wouldn't turn me in to Alpha Gregory would you?" I ask.

"Why would you think that? I would never do that to you. I swear on my life and pack, you will never come to harm from any of my, ours if you stay, people. Come here," she pats the bed "Come sit." I walk over to her and sit next to her.

She put my hands in her hands.

"Do you feel that? Those tingles? The warmth? I would never jeopardize that. I want to be your mate, if you'll have me?"

I look at her. Staring right into her eyes and getting lost in them again. What if? What if I stayed and things turned out to be perfect? What if I stayed and became a part of a pack again? What if I stay and live a wonderful life with my mate and pups down the way?

"Can I think about it? I want to say yes. I want to have all of this. I want a family again. You just have to understand the hell I've been through."

"You take as much time as you need. I do understand. I would feel the way you do if I had been through what you have. I'm in no rush. I'll wait for you forever." She kisses my cheek and the heat rushes to my face.

"I do have one request?"

"What's that?"

"Stay with me tonight?"

"Like here? In your room? I guess the floor is more comfortable than the woods."

She laughs. "No silly. You can sleep in my bed. I promise not to bite. Hard." She laughs again and winks which makes me smile. "Feel like going on a run? It's been awhile since I've let Isabella out for a run."

"Yeah, that'd be great. I'm sure Axel would like to meet Isabella."

We head outside and Lilly starts stripping. I turn away which makes her giggle. After a few cracks and pops I feel a cold nose against the back of my leg and I turn around. Isabella is a beautiful white wolf with the same colored eyes at Lilly. I strip down and shift.

Axel and Isabella run around each other sniffing and rubbing one another. I laugh at how giddy Axel is acting. He's never been that excited. After a few run around they take off into the woods. I think I might like it here.
