Chapter Eighty-six

It has been three days and something seemed off, it had been a really busy week, with the plans and the need to carry out the deal with Jim. It had taken so much of my time that I didn't notice Violet gone from regular dinners until the third night when Maureen and I ate while she told me stories of herself. The table side was empty and since Gloria went away for a brief mission that morning, it was clear that Violet had been gone for a long time. I stirred at the soup in my bowl and after a while i pushed my chair back and Maureen stopped talking.

“What are you going?” she asked while her eyes followed me.

“I’ll be right back.” I answered and walked up the stairs to her room, it had been a while i stepped in there. She was probably mad at me since that day and decided to stay back in her room- but when i opened the door my brows creased and my nose sniffed the air.
