“Ouch!” I jumped

I turned to Maverick and glowered. I looked at the spot on my shoulder where he just bit me!

“I’m sorry, I’m starving.”

“Starving?” I raised a brow. “For what?” I teased.

“Don’t do this to me, Odessa.” His brows dipped, and he pouted.

“I can’t believe I’m cooking for you.”

I flipped the steak, the mashed potatoes were already done, and the asparagus was grilled.

“I could’ve cooked for you. I can take care of you in every way, sweetheart.”

“Aww, aren’t you sweet?”

He slapped my ass and wandered out of the kitchen.

“I’m starving,” he called back.

I stared at the spot he bit me, hoping to see a Campbell wolf mate mark, but all that was there was red skin and his teeth marks.

I scowled. I was getting tired of waiting. My wolf was irritated. She wanted to complete the bond and be totally his. Even if he didn’t mark me. I knew I was his. This bond wasn’t weak like what I had with Gage. This was strong and authentic.
