Hazel busied herself packing a lot of potions for Elowyn and dedicated her time to explaining to her what they were and their uses.

Elowyn listened attentively to that. Thankfully, she had a great photographic memory. It didn’t take long before she had absorbed all the knowledge.

All the potions and medicines were packed. So were the clothes and other necessities.

Once that was done, Hazel disappeared for a while before appearing with a smile.

“Elo, I will send you to a nearby town tomorrow morning and put you on a train. It will take eight hours by train to reach the city where someone will pick you up at the station. Just trust the people who will pick you up. I once saved them and have been doing business with them. They are trustworthy. So be at ease. Make sure to listen and learn as much as you can. Can you do that for me?”

How could Elowyn play tyrant and refuse to accept such goodwill?

She could only agree and promise to work hard in the future. That made Hazel feel very emotional and happy at the same time.

Once the details were settled, the two finally retired to the caves, but none of them could sleep as they had so much on their minds. It became difficult to close their eyes at all.

Meanwhile, in a certain place, a group of cloaked figures were sitting cross-legged in a ritual circle with candles flickering and at the center of the circle, a cloaked figure was sitting with its back hunched.

“Mother, it’s almost daybreak. Have you figured it out?” a sweet and melodious voice sounded from one of those seated people and the hunched figure raised its head, revealing a haggard face which could have made any normal child have endless nightmares.

In a croaked voice, the hunched woman responded and she shook her head, “something is blocking me. I don’t know what kind of sorcery that bitch is using. Perhaps she has set mediums to hide me from finding her!”

When the seated figures heard that, she showed panic on their faces and the one who had asked earlier asked again, “This … then … mother, what should we do?” her voice trembling with deep fear of the person that they were talking about.

The hunched woman straightened her back suddenly and the sound of bones breaking sent shivers down everyone’s spine but no one dared to react.

After straightening her bones, the woman rose to her feet and shed the cloak that she was wearing revealing a voluptuous body, well-crafted but the face still wasn’t that pleasing to look at.

The woman looked at the people sitting around and suddenly smiled as her gaze landed on one of them. “If we want to find her, then let’s try something else!” and all eyes were suddenly on the figure picked.

The figure picked looked dumbfoundedly at the woman and suddenly pointed at herself asking nervously, “Mother …. This …. You want me to try?” disbelief in her tone as she questioned the woman she trusted and feared.

The woman nodded with a smile, making her ugly face look scarier, but no one trembled at that. After all, they were quite used to seeing that face. After seeing it a few more times, even when scared, the reaction is slow.

“Yes. I do believe that you recently got a crow. How about using it to find her whereabouts? I believe that it might be faster!”

When the witch heard that, her cheeks trembled with excitement. No one knows how long she had been waiting to be recognized by the mother. Now that her useless crow finally got something to do, she readily agreed and those sitting with her were very envious but what could they do?

Who made them look down on that sickly crow when it was found, and this witch happened to have a softer heart, thus taking the crow with her?

In the end, they could only watch as dawn approached, as their mother and that witch left the ritual circle together. As for where they were going? Who were they to ask?

        *****

Aynor Town

“Howl!”

“Howl!”

The howling of wolves sounded in the thick forest as majestic wolves were seen running and coming out of the forest.

It was not that dark, and it could be seen that dawn was approaching. Three wolves, all black, ran out of the woods and made way towards the fence which separated the living compound and the forest.

The moment the wolves reached the fence, they all jumped over, showing their flexibility before landing on the other side.

Once there, they ran towards the nearby cabin where a man with a stern expression stood with his arms folded, deep in thought.

“Howl!”

The howling of the wolves jolted him back to reality. He looked at the three wolves without saying a word and watched nonchalantly as they shifted.

Standing before him were two young men and one young woman. They were all wearing shorts, and the woman had a sports bra covering her upper body.

They all had a few things in common; their bodies were ripped nicely with packs that would make a lot of people drool, and most importantly, their backs had these deep scars that told stories. The kind that none of them were willing to share.

“How was it?” the man asked as soon as the three shifted back to their human forms.

The young woman stepped forward and bowed respectively towards the older man and responded, “We have patrolled throughout the town and we haven’t caught a single whiff of any intruders. We are safe for the moment.”

The man nodded when he heard that and looked at the other two. The two didn’t utter a word but still nodded in acknowledgement of what the woman had said.

After getting the information that he needed, he nodded at the three and turned around, saying, “Let’s go back. Linda, I have a mission for you!”

And the three trotted behind with Linda asking curiously, “Alpha, what kind?” her tone laced with anticipation.

To her, a mission meant leaving town and seeing the world. How could she not be happy?

The Alpha’s lips curled upward, hearing that enthusiasm in Linda’s voice. He couldn’t help but recall the call he received a few hours ago.

“The kind where you must pick an important guest and safely bring her back to town,” he responded as he continued to walk.

The two young men following behind couldn’t help but use their mental link to communicate since they were both mute in a human sense.

‘What kind do important guest is Alpha Aynor talking about?’

‘How am I supposed to know? How about we continue to listen?’

‘I also want to go out!’

‘And do what? Have you forgotten the mess you caused the last time you traveled to the neighboring town?’

The two were at it again, and the two people in front were busy with their conversation.

“Is there anything that I must prepare?” Upon learning the status of the guest, Linda couldn’t help but feel nervous.

The Alpha responded with a smile. “Just make sure you bring her back without any issues. Others will take care of other matters.”

Linda frowned when she heard that. The alpha was being vague, but what else could she ask?

She could only nod and agree to the instruction.

The four of them headed back and the lights of the houses shine in the night. The crickets made noise and the dogs barked but only for a short while as if acknowledging their presence.

Before parting, the Alpha didn’t forget to remind Linda. “Make sure you are in Sodon City before noon. The guest should be arriving around that time. I will give you more details at breakfast.”

After saying so, the Alpha left, leaving the three to their own devices.

‘Linda, do you want me to drive you to Barnsley town?’

As Linda pondered over the matter of the guest, she heard her cousin brother, Tim, asking her using mental link.

She turned her head and looked at the fraternal twins, who were both her cousins and nodded her head.

She didn’t own a car and didn’t like driving as well. So having someone drive her to the neighboring town would be helpful.

“Sure, send me there and if you want you can pick us up when I return,” Linda didn’t decline the offer but readily accepted.

Tim grinned when he heard that and patted his twin brother, Thomas on the shoulder before urging hm, ‘Let’s go and close our eyes for a few hours. We have a journey to make!’ and left without giving Thomas a chance to respond.

Thomas rolled his eyes as he watched Tim leave. Wasn’t he the one scolding him earlier and advising him not to go to town? Why did he become the one who was so eager in the end?

Nonetheless, he didn’t object to that. After all, he was quite needy when it comes to leaving town. So, he smiled at Linda, his cousin before following his brother. They both indeed needed to sleep. They have been patrolling for hours.

After the twins left, Linda shook her head with a chuckle as she made way to the house that she and other girls currently lived.

“Kayden!” she called out to him, and he nodded at her.Earlier, the Alpha had told her repeatedly to call him by his name without the title. Although she felt uncomfortable at first, after exchanging words a few more times, she found herself calling him like that.Perhaps she adapted pretty well because she used to call Hilary by his name as well. Especially when they were alone.Anyway, that wasn’t the crux of the matter right now. She wasn’t with Hilary anymore but with Kayden.[Doesn’t she look beautiful?] Caesar shamelessly boasted as he groomed himself, and Kayden found himself taking several sneakier glances at Elowyn. She wasn’t wearing any fancy clothes, yet she looked ethereal. His heart couldn’t help but pound.‘Beautiful!’“Um ….. um,” but that wonderful moment was disrupted when Letty cleared her throat exaggeratedly, making Elowyn’s fa

The fear, doubt and many other thoughts. He was lost, but one by one, meeting them made his life pretty much easier. They have been togethe

Elowyn was in a great mood as she looked at the villa she finally settled on after checking the other villas that were currently not in use.To think that Alpha Kayden could build so many villas for his pack members to live in, she could see the love he has for his family, and that alone made her like the man even more.Coming to the Aynor pack, Elowyn always knew that her stay was guaranteed. After all, Hazel had settled everything for her. But in that moment when she was speaking with the Alpha, she couldn’t help but want to do something for herself. She alone understood how badly she wanted this chance. She knew that the Alpha didn’t have any reason to train her or be involved with this mess. That’s why she went down on her knees to beg him for this chance. She wanted him to know her earnestness. Her looks can be deceiving, and that could be deadly. What if no one takes her seriously or simply assumes that she is delicate and couldn&r

“I will have your identification problem solved before the end of the week. So, I might need your details, if you don’t mind.”Elowyn readily gave them. she didn’t even need to give false information at all. however, she couldn’t help but remind him of something.“I am not sure how you will find my name written in the system. If it’s not deceased, then please just have my previous identification reissued, but if it comes out as deceased, then please use Gardner instead of Gregory as my last name,” she firmly said, taking into account that Hilary might have declared her dead. After all, she truly died in some sense that night.Kayden was curious when he heard that. After all, how could a living person be announced dead all of a sudden? So, he asked her directly.“Do you mind telling me about what happened to you? Why do you need to hide and what you want to achieve? You can choose not to say anyt

However, he lives his life, which was on him and not her.So, why fuss? With that in mind, her eyes softened as a smile appeared on her face.Unknown to her, her changes were all captured by Kayden. In fact, her scent shocked him. From being sweet to sour suddenly. It was sour briefly and in that short moment, he could sense this strong aversion towards him that he couldn’t understand. Not understanding what her mind was thinking, the sourness vanished, replaced by the sweetness that got him enchanted. If only he could read her mind, then wouldn’t he be stressed?Unfortunately, there was no way to solve this problem. Back to the present, after Elowyn ate her food, she began to focus on Linda.“Where are we going. What is it called?”“Aynor town. It’s a private small town with a reasonable number of residents,” Linda answered cautiously.Elowyn’s eyes lit up when she heard that. She wasn’t particularly fond of bustling places. They made her feel socially awkward. She was more used to staying in secluded places. Perhaps she was influenced by her mother, who took her to stay in the woods for years before she found Hilary, who took her to stay with his pack, which resided in the woods as well.Due to their uniqueness, it was rare for packs to live amongst normal human beings. They might mingle and work with them, but to live amongst them, that would mean increasing the risk of being found out. There weren’t many people who knew about the supernatural. Whilst the leaders knew about it, normal humans had no clue. To avo
