CHAPTER 25: SETTLING IN

Elowyn was in a great mood as she looked at the villa she finally settled on after checking the other villas that were currently not in use.

To think that Alpha Kayden could build so many villas for his pack members to live in, she could see the love he has for his family, and that alone made her like the man even more.

Coming to the Aynor pack, Elowyn always knew that her stay was guaranteed. After all, Hazel had settled everything for her. But in that moment when she was speaking with the Alpha, she couldn’t help but want to do something for herself.

She alone understood how badly she wanted this chance. She knew that the Alpha didn’t have any reason to train her or be involved with this mess. That’s why she went down on her knees to beg him for this chance.

She wanted him to know her earnestness. Her looks can be deceiving, and that could be deadly. What if no one takes her seriously or simply assumes that she is delicate and couldn’t suffer any grievances?

She needed to show sincerity, and she hoped that the Alpha would take that into consideration.

“This place is big!” she was amazed as she checked the place around.

With so many options laid out in front of her, Elowyn chose to stay alone rather than with others.

First, she was more used to being alone or having few people around her. If she lives in a communal house, that would force her to face strangers every day. She didn’t want to be awkward.

Secondly, unlike other supernatural beings, she was special. She had seen how dangerous being a seer was. Her ancestor’s life was destroyed simply because they wanted to imprison her and use her.

If others knew of her real abilities, wouldn’t she follow the same path?

She didn’t want to die and was very unwilling to even suffer.

In this life, if possible, she just wanted to avenge herself. Make Hilary suffer for what he did. His lies, betrayal and above all, killing her children.

If he didn’t want to be with her anymore, he could have just broken up with her like normal people do. Just because he is part of a werewolf community and the leader, it doesn’t mean that he had to treat her badly like that, as if she weren’t human.

Whether his pride or ….. he should have remembered the times that they shared before he humiliated her like that.

She understood that bonds were something that even the supernatural couldn’t mess with, but wasn’t there an ideal way to separate?

In order to satisfy a woman who vanished for years without her whereabouts being known, and yet appeared only a few months before the wedding was being prepared. How could Hilary be so guileless and stupid as to accept her as if it were nothing?

As if that wasn’t enough, he dared keep her out of the loop, watched her as she went around foolishly making her wedding gown when he was fully aware that there would be no union and then reject her, making her end up in humiliation.

If he had stopped there, she would have understood, but he couldn’t even tolerate her remaining alive. What kind of crimes did she commit that he was willing to go to such great lengths?

Just what kind of charm did Veda have for him to personally wield a weapon and strike the woman who had taken care of him for good three years?

Was this the kind of bond that the moon goddess was so proud of?

To be honest, Elowyn was quite disappointed with this deity. If such deep bonds were earned through the pain of others, she would rather not have them.

It was a great thing that her ancestor defied the gods and found a way to cut the tether. Now she didn’t have to worry about being forcefully bonded to anyone.

As for any prospective mates, what did they have to do with her?

However, there was one thing that she was eager to do now that she had settled down: look into Veda and see what kind of person she was.

She wasn’t going to just take revenge against Hilary, but against that venomous woman whose heart was so dark and evil. She didn’t believe that a person with such a heart was innocent. If Hilary couldn’t find something, she was going to find it for him, and when she did…… her eyes crinkled with mischief, anticipating how beautiful the future would be.

Elowyn checked the whole villa and was very satisfied with it. It has four bedrooms, two living rooms, an open kitchen joined with the dining room and several entertainment rooms.

She picked the master bedroom as her main bedroom. She wasn’t going to settle for less. She didn’t know if she would be sharing with someone else in the future, but for now, she has such a huge place to herself, and that got her excited.

“I need to buy more clothes and stuff. But first, I need to have my documents done,” she said wryly as she looked at the empty closet.

For this journey, she only brought a few bags without much and for a girl, that was pitifully low. She needed to doll herself up. She nodded with satisfaction as she thought about that, but then that smile vanished as reality dawned on her.

She was broke.

Although she was given money by Hazel earlier, it wasn’t going to be enough to last her for a long time. She couldn’t freeload on everything.

‘It seems that I need to find something to do. Or should I do that?’ she scratched her chin thoughtfully.

After thinking for a while, she let out a long sigh and resignedly said, “Mom, I am very sorry but I guess I can only do that. If I don’t, then your daughter will end up begging in the streets,” feeling her heart ache at the thought of touching what her mother had forbidden her before she died.

What could she do now?
