Elder Sophia snorted as she looked at the elder berating her.

She narrowed her eyes as she looked at the man and coldly said, “don’t you dare act like a saint in front of me. Have you forgotten the previous case where the former Alpha impregnated a human? Have you forgotten what happened?”

When she asked that, the elders quieted down, as that particular memory revisited them.

It was decades ago before the former Alpha got mated to Hilary’s mother.

The Jacob’s family were a family that had always had trouble when it comes to child bearing. In the former Alpha’s generation, there were only two of them. The eldest being a female and the youngest being the former Alpha.

According to some traditional rules which the pack has always followed from the moment it was created, only male heirs take on the mantle of being an Alpha. Blame whoever started with patriarchalism.

Anyway, their mother never conceived again no matter how many times they tried or means used. However, that wasn’t just their problem as in the previous generation, the former Alpha’s father was the sole cub.

Hilary’s father when he took over as the Alpha as the age of twenty-one, he also wanted to have as many children as he could. So, he thought of taking a human without being restrained by the bond mate.

The female was taken, she got pregnant but then disaster struck. Perhaps the cub in her belly was too strong and she was unable to withstand that.

She died when she was just six months pregnant. It was an ugly sight that made a lot of them tremble with fear at the mere thought of it.

The Alpha nonetheless didn’t stop there but tried again and it was horrible

She died at the operating table. The child was big and consumed his mother’s nutrients. She was bones and skin. When the child was finally taken out of the mother’s belly, those who were in the birthing room regretted it.

She gave birth to a monster that the former Alpha strangled the child right there and forbade everyone from talking about it.

After that, he obediently found his mate and managed to give birth to Hilary. Unfortunately, after several years, the Luna died, leaving Hilary and his father alone. When Hilary took the mantle, the old man died peacefully in his bed. As for how he died, it was still a mystery.

Recalling how terrible it was back then, Elder Sophia wouldn’t bother to tell Hilary about Elowyn’s pregnancy. Anyway, the child and mother were going to die one way or the other. Since their fate was predetermined, her doing nothing was the best option.

Moreover, just like everyone else in the pack. She didn’t want to bow to a human who was apathetically weak and without connections.

She would rather have Veda who was a werewolf and the same kind. However, after seeing the Luna for months, she was starting to regret her decision.

Veda was petty, and her usefulness apart from accompanying their Alpha, elder Sophia saw none.

Adding Veda to Hilary’s inefficiency, even made her determined to take measures. If it wasn’t for Hilary’s dissatisfactory actions earlier, perhaps this secret meeting wouldn’t be happening.

However, for the sake of the pack’s future and survival, she would rather become a traitor. She lives and dies with Whitecrest pack. As long as she helps the pack, it won’t matter what she does.

Finally understanding her actions, the other elders no longer clamored about what was lost but wanted to know how to do about it from now on.

“What are your plans?”

“Simple! If we can’t change what we have, then why not bring something else completely!”

“You … are you saying that we should bring that person here?”

Elder Sophia grinned beamingly as she looked at the elder who had spoken and nodded. “Um, that’s exactly what I am saying. Don’t you think that person would do a good job?”

The elders were tempted when they heard that but still cautiously asked, “but how do we go about it? its not something that can easily be done, right?”

Elder Sophia beamed seeing that they were slowly getting aboard. However, she didn’t respond directly to that question but said, “as long as you support me then leave the rest to me,” remaining mysterious.

The elders didn’t urge anymore but chatted for a while polishing what could be polished before going to their houses.

Once the elders left, Elder Sophia and her husband, Elder Donald lay in bed as they snuggled.

“Are you sure that you will not regret this?”

Elder Sophia shook her head as the image of that person appeared in her mind.

“Hehe, I have been waiting for this very moment for a long time. how can I regret it?”

Elder Donald hearing her saying that planted a kiss on her forehead before tightening his hold on her.

“I will give you all the support. We will not fail!”

“I trust you!”

The couple were in synch and so were certain individuals elsewhere.

“Have you received any news from her?” standing at the edge of the cliff, looking at the twinkling lights of the city at night, a rugged man with a scar on his eye asked the young woman who was standing next to him.

Without looking at him, the young woman with red hair answered, “Not yet. I guess that she got caught into something!”

The man’s dark eyes stared into the night with no words spoken and the woman maintained her silence until sometime later saying, “we got news. The dark witches are stopping, so we can now be at ease!”

And that piece of news made the man’s eyes soften as he turned his head to look at the woman. “Then I guess we have another reason to celebrate!”

The woman’s icy gaze melted as well as she took his gaze head on and responded, “indeed and while we are at it, find someone to infiltrate the Whitecrest Pack. I don’t feel at ease leaving everything to one person.”

The man’s eyes curved as he looked away saying, “who said I have one?” making the woman’s eyes lit up.

‘I guess I shouldn’t worry about it anymore!’ she thought as she looked at the city twinkling lights.

That way, they can wake up early, prepare and climb the mountain in time.Waking up, wasn’t just her alone but the other two also woke up, and they didn’t look pretty good.Seeing Lizzy’s darkened expression, Elowyn’s anger vanished as she let out a chuckle. It looked so funny, how a vampire could have such large dark circles. Elowyn generously waved her hand at Sara, understanding how tough it must be for this human.“It’s not a problem. It would have been worse if we haven’t showed up. Now that would have looked like we have just diched the plan and not kept to our promise. Thank you for coming over.”“As long as you find no fault. I am grateful.”After Sara made her own statement, Melinda also got down to hers.“Um, I miscalculated my period days. I was wondering if you have any extra pads or something. Anything for me to pass the night until its morning,” she shyly stated her course, and Sara finally understood why she was acting like that. But there were other campers at the site, why not go to them but to Elowyn?Elowyn didn’t have such thoughts as Sara. After hearing Melinda’s reason, she felt this weird emotion. It kind of reminded her of when she was still by herself in that forest, didn’t

Creak. The door of the camper van opened and the three girls dressed in black all entered sighing with relief.“Darn! This was simply so ….. ahhh, I hope that we won’t come across such scum in the future!” Lizzy disgustedly spoke, recalling the situation she saw in that basement.Elowyn chuckled as she walked towards the bathroom and answered, “such scum will never disappear. What we can do is continue to strive to eliminate them. If possible, find the real masterminds and rid of them.”Both girls nodded to that and watched as Elowyn stripped herself clean before entering the bathroom.“I think that we should start looking into the law enforcement as well. If we can’t afford to reveal ourselves, then at least getting rid of these filthy people, who use the law for their own wishes, would suffice. At least, we will be able to discreetly send evidence to them and let them do the job on our behal
