LOGINHer mother was the best person she had ever met in this life. So how could anyone, be it a person or a ghost speak ill against her like that?
She wouldn’t allow that.
But the voice was very stubborn and knew how to irk her.
‘Even if I scold her all day. What can you do? What can your pathetic self, do? Didn’t you cause all this yourself?’
Elowyn was so angry and her body was trembling with so much anger but she couldn’t even retort or refute that voice. After all, those words were very truthful. She couldn’t do anything at all. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be in this state.
‘Then, what do you want me to do? Just tell me what to do!’ she bellowed angrily at the voice in her head and the other laughed hysterically.
‘Hahaha, I love that determination. You shouldn’t have lived pathetically all these years like a licker when you are someone so special. Since you have come to your senses, then just let it go. I will take over!’
The voice was sarcastic as ever but Elowyn being the beggar in this case, could only gnash her teeth, cussing the voice and hoping that one day she would find whoever was hiding behind it and give that person a lesson.
Nonetheless, she closed her eyes and took several deep breaths.
‘Just let it go!’ she chanted in her mind as she let it go, releasing any thoughts from her mind as if she wanted to meditate.
She had meditated a lot of times before she met Hilary. So it wasn’t that difficult to empty her mind and let it go.
However, what she didn’t know was that once she started getting into the state, the surrounding space started distorting and a woman wearing a strange black robe, with scary makeup and bloody red hair appeared for a moment with a strange smile on her face before vanishing.
Once she vanished, a red lotus flower mark appeared on Elowyn’s forehead and a strange light enveloped her in a cocoon before she vanished from the cell as if she was never there. Except for the pool of blood where she was sitting earlier, there were no signs of her anywhere.
Where could she have gone to?
****
‘Where am I?’ she anxiously wondered as she found herself in an unending prairie, and standing under a large tree with a large umbrella-shaped crown.
It was the kind of tree that she had never seen before. It was beautiful to look at and yet didn’t seem very real at all.
Moreover, she was all by herself. So how could she not panic?
She didn’t know how long she stood there. She was afraid to take a single step or even sit down. So, like an idiot, she stood there filled with anxiety and nervousness while asking herself a lot of questions she couldn’t even answer.
After god knows how long. The space in front of her seemed to start distorting, scaring the heck out of her. She stumbled backwards, only to press her back against the tree. She sighed with relief that she didn’t fall but didn’t even take into mind, that the tree was a bit further away from her. She wasn’t supposed to easily press against it.
Her mind was not in place at the moment. Moreover, how could she even think about the tree when what was happening in front of her was literally making her legs shake?
‘What kind of drama is this? Is this how I change my freaking fate by being toyed with?’ she wanted to cry but no tears were coming out.
She could only fearfully watch what was in front of her, while she scolded that voice that scammed her and sent her to such an eerie place.
Now see the illusions that she was seeing. Who was going to save her?
In front of her, a large water screen appeared out of the distorted space and started showing a movie of some sort.
From the screen, despite her fearfulness, Elowyn’s eyes seemed to be glued on the screen and she couldn’t force her eyes to close at all. So, she could only watch whatever was playing there.
The movie had a familiar voice narrating, and it made everything easier. Even the goosebumps on her skin seemed to be increasing as well but that voice didn’t care at all.
So, she could only succumb to her fate and listen attentively. Who knows if the movie might change her life?
“Once upon a time, there existed several kingdoms before technology corrupted a world which was beautiful with nature as its core.
These several kingdoms were ruled by supernatural beings – werewolves, vampires and witches. These three were superior to the supernatural.
Three major kingdoms were ruled by them and the world was very peaceful until a calamity descended forcing the three major forces to turn against each other. As a result, the wars between these three until this very day had never stopped.
As time passed, the world where supernatural beings ruled came to an end and humans took over. With time, supernatural became a myth that was talked about in books but they have never stopped existing. Their legend still continued.
Through fated mating, the supernatural beings were forced to let go of their hatred and learnt to live together although that only lessened the situation but didn’t exactly solve the matter.
Two centuries ago, there was a change or rather a new calamity descended on the supernatural one again. What we call the Nemeton, a supernatural beacon appeared from nowhere and gave power to the beings who were losing hope.
The appearance of the Nemeton caused a crazy bloodshed among species and only the appearance of a blessed and chosen one would stop that.
However, the chosen one didn’t come as everyone expected. It took decades until three decades after the appearance of the Nemeton, the king was born. He was born a tribid. Blessed with all three traits. The appearance of such a supernatural being brought peace on the land and the king settled in the land surrounding the Nemeton.
Ever since then, the few supernatural beings who survived after decades of wars became peaceful. At least on the surface, they never fought recklessly with each other like they did.
They started focusing on rebuilding their territories without interfering with others. Thanks to that, the bloodsheds became fewer. Of course, there were internal wars which occurred over time but it wasn’t as serious as the madness of centuries ago.
While the world was focusing on the three major supernatural, another species made an appearance but they were quite few. By the time they started causing waves, they had already spread their roots.
They called these new species, seers. They were very different from those three. They had the ability to see visions and what others couldn’t see. They didn’t have much fighting power but the knowledge that they possessed was powerful that everyone was willing to give anything to have at least one seer in their tribe, clan or kingdom.
By having a seer by their side, a lot of problems could be easily avoided since the seer might see that in advance. It was like having a golden finger, a cheat that would make one soar.”
Elowyn listening to that narration, found herself nodding her head as she looked at the seers appearing on the screen. All of them had several things in common.
“Kayden!” she called out to him, and he nodded at her.Earlier, the Alpha had told her repeatedly to call him by his name without the title. Although she felt uncomfortable at first, after exchanging words a few more times, she found herself calling him like that.Perhaps she adapted pretty well because she used to call Hilary by his name as well. Especially when they were alone.Anyway, that wasn’t the crux of the matter right now. She wasn’t with Hilary anymore but with Kayden.[Doesn’t she look beautiful?] Caesar shamelessly boasted as he groomed himself, and Kayden found himself taking several sneakier glances at Elowyn. She wasn’t wearing any fancy clothes, yet she looked ethereal. His heart couldn’t help but pound.‘Beautiful!’“Um ….. um,” but that wonderful moment was disrupted when Letty cleared her throat exaggeratedly, making Elowyn’s fa
With her mind made up, Elowyn no longer stressed herself with many things.Recalling what the Alpha had told her earlier, she started freshening up, getting ready for dinner. It was time to meet others and get acquainted with them. *****Meanwhile, inside Kayden’s villa, he was in the main living room with several people who looked quite relaxed and not imposing.“Kayden, are you really sure that we should keep this girl?”“Yes, she looks a bit delicate.”“What’s her story?”Kayden looked at the men and women who were not just his subordinates, right-hand men, but also friends with a smile. He couldn’t help but remember how lonely he was when he first joined the supernatural world. The fear, doubt and many other thoughts. He was lost, but one by one, meeting them made his life pretty much easier. They have been togethe
Elowyn was in a great mood as she looked at the villa she finally settled on after checking the other villas that were currently not in use.To think that Alpha Kayden could build so many villas for his pack members to live in, she could see the love he has for his family, and that alone made her like the man even more.Coming to the Aynor pack, Elowyn always knew that her stay was guaranteed. After all, Hazel had settled everything for her. But in that moment when she was speaking with the Alpha, she couldn’t help but want to do something for herself. She alone understood how badly she wanted this chance. She knew that the Alpha didn’t have any reason to train her or be involved with this mess. That’s why she went down on her knees to beg him for this chance. She wanted him to know her earnestness. Her looks can be deceiving, and that could be deadly. What if no one takes her seriously or simply assumes that she is delicate and couldn&r
“I will have your identification problem solved before the end of the week. So, I might need your details, if you don’t mind.”Elowyn readily gave them. she didn’t even need to give false information at all. however, she couldn’t help but remind him of something.“I am not sure how you will find my name written in the system. If it’s not deceased, then please just have my previous identification reissued, but if it comes out as deceased, then please use Gardner instead of Gregory as my last name,” she firmly said, taking into account that Hilary might have declared her dead. After all, she truly died in some sense that night.Kayden was curious when he heard that. After all, how could a living person be announced dead all of a sudden? So, he asked her directly.“Do you mind telling me about what happened to you? Why do you need to hide and what you want to achieve? You can choose not to say anyt
She was once fooled by Hilary, and she wasn’t going to let another man fool her again.Luckily, she was only here to stay away from trouble and train. She wasn’t here to date and fool around. With her goals firm, she pushed aside her bias towards Kayden. However, he lives his life, which was on him and not her.So, why fuss? With that in mind, her eyes softened as a smile appeared on her face.Unknown to her, her changes were all captured by Kayden. In fact, her scent shocked him. From being sweet to sour suddenly. It was sour briefly and in that short moment, he could sense this strong aversion towards him that he couldn’t understand. Not understanding what her mind was thinking, the sourness vanished, replaced by the sweetness that got him enchanted. If only he could read her mind, then wouldn’t he be stressed?Unfortunately, there was no way to solve this problem. He could only take it one second at a
Back to the present, after Elowyn ate her food, she began to focus on Linda.“Where are we going. What is it called?”“Aynor town. It’s a private small town with a reasonable number of residents,” Linda answered cautiously.Elowyn’s eyes lit up when she heard that. She wasn’t particularly fond of bustling places. They made her feel socially awkward. She was more used to staying in secluded places. Perhaps she was influenced by her mother, who took her to stay in the woods for years before she found Hilary, who took her to stay with his pack, which resided in the woods as well.Due to their uniqueness, it was rare for packs to live amongst normal human beings. They might mingle and work with them, but to live amongst them, that would mean increasing the risk of being found out. There weren’t many people who knew about the supernatural. Whilst the leaders knew about it, normal humans had no clue. To avo
