MasukRustle. Rustle.
The rustling sound of dried leaves on the ground filled the area in an eerie manner.
In the middle of nowhere, an abandoned mansion stood, with its walls cracked and roof caved in. And yet in such a place, men were patrolling methodically, with firearms in their hands.
Lights were ablaze, and the place sounded pretty lively.
Awoool.
Amidst such a scene, the howling of a wolf sounded, but the patrolling men didn’t seem fazed or scared of coming into crossfire with wolves, even when they knew that wolves liked moving in packs and were pretty much united.
However, someone else didn’t seem to carry the same thought.
“Darn it. Can’t he just come in peace? Must he announce to the whole fucking world that he has arrived?” fuming with anger was a young woman dressed in red leather, her makeup quite bold and made her look like quite menacing.
She looked like an evil cultivator from those cultivation dramas; quite menacing.
“My lady, don’t anger yourself. Don’t you know how he likes to show off?” a man with a slightly bent back said flatteringly as he followed the women out of the eerie mansion.
The woman, however snorted as she looked in a certain direction where a brownish-red wolf could be seen approaching.
“Showing off! Do you know how much loss we have suffered in these past months? It’s as if some obsessed maniac has set his eyes on us. All of our hideouts are being wiped clean, our people dead and we have nothing to show for it. And here he dares to howl, attracting all sorts of trouble. Just a few kilometers from here, there is a camping site.
Tell me. What if those people become curious or even call the cops? Do you see us having enough time to evacuate safely with the goods?”
The more she spoke, the angrier she became.
This time, the other man didn’t dare say another word, because he knew that her concern was on point.
The higher ups were already dissatisfied with them. The losses were simply too much and until now, they haven’t found the people causing the damage.
If they attract unwanted attention this time, they might be truly done.
While the woman in red was shimmering with anger, the wolf trotted towards her. its eyes looked at her aggressively but the woman glared at the wolf and scolded it.
“You better tone down that gaze for me. Don’t make me slice you in a half!” and threatened the wolf as her hand reached for the silver dagger tucked in her waist.
When the wolf heard that, it shrugged its huge body and let out a snort before transforming right in front of her, revealing a well-built man, with numerous scars all over his body, wearing a pair of black pants.
“You have a way of welcoming others, don’t you?” the man sarcastically said as he looked at the woman in red with so much disdain and disgust.
He didn’t seem to see that his attitude wasn’t quite the best.
The woman in red let go of the dagger and rolled her eyes as she turned around, heading back into the mansion saying, “I don’t care how you do it where you came from, but in my presence, you follow my rules and orders.
This is not your fucking pack with your werewolf friends, where you can howl and act tyrant without considering the consequences,” her tone filled with chiding.
The man nonchalantly followed behind, a scowl on his face, not liking whatever was being said.
“Why are you trying to make things complicated? Even if we don’t like each other, we are definitely stuck with each other for now. You do your role, and I do mine. Its final as it is.”
The woman in red snarled as she listened to that offhand remark and without stopping in her tracks icily responded, “good, as long as you remember that. Just know that, tomorrow, we are moving the shipment. You better be as good as they make you to be!” with that, she increased her pace and moved further into the mansion, not minding the other guards guarding the hallway.
The man snickered and didn’t bother with the woman’s words. He followed her and the three of them shortly found themselves in a dimly lit cellar where the shipment was currently being held.
Looking lecherously at the huddled group of young women and children, he licked his lips, not bothering to hide his thoughts at all.
The group shivered and trembled under his watch, and the woman in red looked disgustedly at the group and coldly said, “tomorrow, you will be moving. If any of you dare to try something funny. I won’t mind sending you early to meet your makers.”
After dropping such a threat, the woman in red coldly walked away and before leaving the cellar glared at the werewolf who reluctantly followed, knowing that he couldn’t do anything to these women just yet.
There was still time until they were moved. He could have his fun.
However, if he could have known that two hours later, he would be defending his life with everything he got, he could have made a move and benefited a while.
Unfortunately, as he dodged the incoming bullets, and being surrounded from all sides, he cursed the woman in red for being unable to secure the location and ended up getting found.
Now he had to fight for his life and hopefully could escape before he truly loses his life.
While the werewolf was busy defending his own life, the others weren’t exactly in a good condition.
The woman in red was hiding behind the wall, her stomach bleeding after taking a shot.
She was loading her gun, her hands a bit shaky but the determination on her face spoke volumes.
“You think that I will just let you take over like that, you coward. Come out and face me!” feeling angry at the unseen assaulter who was only sending gunmen after them, the woman yelled angrily, hoping to let whoever was behind them to come out.
Little did she expect that her dream was about to come true.
“Are you …… perhaps looking for me?” came the response, just right in front of her, and the woman in red lost it.
Elowyn generously waved her hand at Sara, understanding how tough it must be for this human.“It’s not a problem. It would have been worse if we haven’t showed up. Now that would have looked like we have just diched the plan and not kept to our promise. Thank you for coming over.”“As long as you find no fault. I am grateful.”After Sara made her own statement, Melinda also got down to hers.“Um, I miscalculated my period days. I was wondering if you have any extra pads or something. Anything for me to pass the night until its morning,” she shyly stated her course, and Sara finally understood why she was acting like that. But there were other campers at the site, why not go to them but to Elowyn?Elowyn didn’t have such thoughts as Sara. After hearing Melinda’s reason, she felt this weird emotion. It kind of reminded her of when she was still by herself in that forest, didn’t
Creak. The door of the camper van opened and the three girls dressed in black all entered sighing with relief.“Darn! This was simply so ….. ahhh, I hope that we won’t come across such scum in the future!” Lizzy disgustedly spoke, recalling the situation she saw in that basement.Elowyn chuckled as she walked towards the bathroom and answered, “such scum will never disappear. What we can do is continue to strive to eliminate them. If possible, find the real masterminds and rid of them.”Both girls nodded to that and watched as Elowyn stripped herself clean before entering the bathroom.“I think that we should start looking into the law enforcement as well. If we can’t afford to reveal ourselves, then at least getting rid of these filthy people, who use the law for their own wishes, would suffice. At least, we will be able to discreetly send evidence to them and let them do the job on our behal
‘It hurts!’ she patted her stifling chest as she looked at the women inside the cellar, all unconscious after she had spread the knock out drug. She couldn’t let any of these people see her face. Who knows what they might say? They were like superheroes. Perform a good deed and never taking on the credit.[It’s going to be fine with time.]‘With time? We have managed to save only few these past months, but who knows how many others have succumbed to such inhumane ending before we started this? Think about those who I can’t even see, who are getting taken and disappearing every single day. Just think about them.’Elowyn was so angry. She grew up with her mother, and their life was considered good. at least, she had never suffered.Despite growing up in the forest, living off the land, she wasn’t raised like some animal and had her principles. In fact, her mother, she raised her
Seeing how emotional the young woman was. It was perhaps a good chance to take that shot and run for her life.As long as he manages to escape, she will deal with any consequences later. Her brain worked very fast, that by the time Elowyn finished speaking, her gun was pointing at Elowyn as she hysterically said, “since you are determined to see this through then eat my bullet first,” and took a shot, a ferocious smile on her face.Elowyn watched amazingly as the bullet flew towards her and the woman in red took that chance to make a run for her life, but after taking two steps, a rat from nowhere jumped onto her face, and she screamed as she clawed the dirty little thing off her face.“I guess that even rats despise such an inhumane person like you!” Elowyn’s cold voice rang behind the woman, and she shuddered, cursing why the bullet didn’t shoot such a person. The little rat seeing that it has done its job, ran
Rat-ta-ta.Peung. Peung.“Take cover!”“Over there! Get these sons of bitches!”Bullets were flying everywhere, and bodies were falling to the ground, blood oozing and the scene not very pleasant to look at.That was the scene that greeted the woman in red.Seeing her men lying dead on the ground, their bodies riddled with bullet holes, she hated whoever was behind this so much. With fury raging inside of her, she raised her gun, taking cover behind a pillar, picked a target and took a shot.Unfortunately, as if the person she was aiming for had eyes behind his head, the man dodged the bullet and while she was in shock of such a thing – as in missing for the first time, she growled in pain as a searing pain pierced right through her shoulder. She had been shot.Infuriated at this unexpected attack, she took over elsewhere and started spraying bullets at any military men she saw and ye
She pretended like she knew nothing but when the vision came back repeatedly, and a few days later overheard Kayden and the other leaders talking about how the dark witches had struck again and used children for their sacrifices, causing so much panic on both sides. When she realized that her vision had been true and when she was having it, the kids were still much alive and could have been saved. She couldn’t sleep well for a long time. She focused more on training herself and praying for those departed soul.In fact, she vowed that as long as she could save them, she was willing to go to any great lengths to do so. However, she was just by herself and if she were to tell Kayden, wouldn’t she expose her real identity? What would happen if Kayden and his pack realized that she was a seer? That scared her and made her reluctant to share her burdens with Kayden, but who could have foreseen that fate had other plans for her.A month after
