Chapter 13

Ambrose's POV

 

No surprise Marius had a heads up about Gen. So many people were under his command Ambrose couldn't keep track of their faces. Any number of them may be enrolled at the high school.

"She's a witch," his fingers rolling into a ball as the man's eyes lit up; the corners of his mouth curling up.

"Has she found out about her family?" Probably been informed of that answer, too. After Alucard's escape, Marius began testing his honesty.

"Aware of the adoption at least. Not sure what other information was given to her." That wasn't a lie; wasn't exactly the truth either. All security had been doubled at her house by the time he had arrived. Both Gen's adoptive parents and protectors were still at the house when he left; guilt radiating off every one of them.

"Does she have any knowledge about the boy?"

"Never mentioned him."

"My sources say they have met," skeptical amber eyes burning into his.<
