Lenora's POV

“Lenora…..” She called out when she didn't hear any response from me and this time I forced myself to stare at her.

I nodded, the weight of her words pressing down on me like an iron. “Yes, Luna. I'm barren. I can't bear any children of my own. I can't give Zade children and it's because of her. Because of them.”

“And if you want me to leave your son because of it, trust me, I'm ready to leave. I can't let your son be childless because of me.”

The room fell silent. Her grip on my hands tightened, her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and sorrow.

“Lenora, I'm so sorry,” she whispered, her voice breaking. “You didn't deserve any of that. No one does”

I swallowed hard, tears streaming down my face. “Thank you, Luna,” I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. In that moment, I felt a strange sense of relief, like a burden I had carried for so long had finally been lifted, even if just a little.

No matter how little it was, it was worth something.

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   STRIP HER

Melissa's Point Of View I quickly shut Freya out as I turned my attention back to the woman who was curled up like a ball. She looked really sad. I could tell from the slight tilt of her brows. I guess she has never been in a place like this. I cleared my throat to get her attention and she turned her gaze to me. “What are you doing here?” She spat and I rolled my eyes. “The last time I checked, old hag, this Pack belongs to my mate and I go wherever I want." “He is not your mate!” She retorted and a low chuckle escaped my lips. “The former Luna Lenora is the only Luna accepted by the moon goddess. But you, you are just… “ “It's not like I'm here to argue with you, Claudia!” I said amidst my chuckles, thereby cutting her off. “Do you know why I'm here?” “What else, Melissa, if it isn't to make fun of me.” She responded and I giggled. “Of course not, Claudia. I am not here to make fun of you. I've got better things to do.” “Then why else are you here, huh?” She asked, conf

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   I'M ALREADY IN HELL

Melissa's Point Of View “Has Lady Claudia been sent to the dungeon?” I asked the first guard I came in contact with as soon as I walked out of my room and he nodded. “Yes, my Luna.” He responded and my lips tugged into a small smile. That's what I wanted to hear. “You can go!” I said to him, but he didn't move an inch and I creased my brows at him. “What are you still waiting for?” “I wanted to ask about the little Alpha. How is he doing?” He asked me and I rolled my eyes. “What business do you have with my son, huh?” “Uhm… I …” he stuttered, but I didn't wait to hear what else he had to say, as I turned around and walked away, making my way to the dungeon. I need to see the bitch. As I walked towards the dungeon, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. I've been here before. That was a few months ago, when Lenora was sent here. I've almost forgotten how cold and damp this place looks. Speaking of which, where is Lenora? Where could she be? From my observation, Axel has been

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   SHE DOESN'T SPEAK TO CONVINCE

Axel's Point Of View “Greetings, my Alpha.” Lady Claudia greeted me as soon as I walked into the Courtroom and I nodded. I signalled the guards to leave and they did without any hesitation. My Beta was standing by the window and he bowed in greeting when he saw me. “Greetings to you, Claudia.” I said as I made my way straight to the throne. The lady, even though she had advanced in age, I must say she still looks as beautiful as always. Too bad she didn't have a mate to appreciate her beauty. “Behave!” My wolf warned and I chuckled lightly before taking my attention back to the woman before me. “Do you have any idea as to why I called you here?” I asked her, but she shook her head. Of course she wouldn't know. “Of course not, your Majesty. Your servant has no idea why she was taken away from the comfort of her home and brought to the courtroom of all places!” She said as she bowed slightly. “Well, it is because I demand an explanation as to why you'll lie to me.” “What do

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   HER DEATH WILL BE UPON HIM

Melissa's Point Of View What a fool! Of course he wouldn't say no to whatever I requested. To say I have Axel wrapped around my fingers would be an understatement, because how else can I describe this? He agreed to my request of killing the old innocent seer even without batting an eye, a seer that has been with the Pack since the days of his father? Boy! Axel is one stupid son of a bitch. His parents must be ashamed to birth such a dumb man. It's not like I cared if Lady Claudia died or not. After all, I won't be alive to watch someone steal my joy. Her death will be upon Axel all the days of his life. No one is gonna blame me for killing her. After all, she didn't die by my hand. “What else would you like me to do for you, My Luna?” He asked as he took my hands into his, giving it a gentle squeeze. I bit back the urge to pull my hands away from his, since his touch irked me. But I didn't want to piss him off. Therefore I did everything I could to endure it. I forced a smil

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   IT HURTS

Lenora's Point Of View “Why do you look so stressed?” Luna Ophelia asked as soon as I walked down the stairs. “Did something bad happen last night?” She asked, her voice laced with concern. Of course something bad happened last night. Talia was in my room last night. She pointed a fucking gun at me and threatened to kill me if I didn't stay away from Zade. Too bad I was able to handle the situation maturely, else I'd be dead by now. “Come on, Nora! Talk to me.” She was now standing in front of me. “Where's Zade?” He didn't come home last night, especially after he said he was going to get some things done. “Uh? Didn't he come to bed last night?” Her brows furrowed into a frown and I quickly shook my head. “No, mom. He didn't!” “I'll send one of the guards to go check on him later, but for now, you need to come have breakfast! It's gonna get cold!” She winked at me and I felt my lips tug into a smile. And now, the memories of what happened last night were temporarily forgot

  • The Rise Of The Betrayed Luna   SHE NEEDS TO BE KILLED

Melissa's Point Of View “I don't care, mother!” I hissed, but my mother shot me a harsh glare. “You might not know this, Melissa, but everyone in the Pack hates you already. The Pack women, the little children, the men, both young and old, everyone hates you. No one is saying good things about you and they keep praying that Lenora will come back to them as Luna. It is really disturbing….” “Like I said earlier, mother. I don't care!” I deadpanned. “It's high time you come to understand that I don't care what anyone says about me, not even those poor idiots!” “Of course you wouldn't care. No one is pointing hands at you for being a bad Luna. Do you know who's taking the blame, huh? Do you know the amount of ugly stares I get from the villagers? I went to the mall today and everyone keeps glaring at me, keeps calling me a bad mother. Do you know who is taking the blame for all your cruelty?” Who else if not her? Wasn't she the one who taught me everything I know? Therefore she sh
