My legs were starting to ache and I was slowly starting to feel exhausted. Nolan carried Mikey for me on one side of his arm as we continued walking down the pier. People kept staring at us and our huge new furry friend. I let out a sigh. "I think this has been one of the best days of my life."We were heading towards a less crowded area wherr there was less noise. We could see more of the beach here. The water in the ocean was black and calm. Nolan smiled down at me. "Come on, let's sit down for a bit. You're starting to waddle like a penguine." "Hey." I protested but he simply placed his hand on the small of my back. A jolt ran down my back as he led me towards a wooden bench. He sat Mikey down besides himself. He was right. I did feel instant relief once the weight was off my feet. We were in a car park I didn't recognise. I looked around the dim and dingy place before snapping my head towards Nolan. "I swear Charlestone, if all these years, you've secretly been an axe murderer and you're finally going to murder me, I swear I will haunt you." Nolan scoffed and shook his head. "Okay, Sav." He spoke unaffected by my dramatic response. He opened his car door before jumping out. A few seconds later he was at my side opening my door. "Let's go." He nodded out the door. I gave him a suspicious look but knew I couldn't back down now. I mean, I had come all this way. We walked down a streer I don't think I had ever been down. It was already getting dark. Just after 7.30pm. I hugged my body looking around at excited looking strangers heading in the same direction we were. Kids with parents. Older and younger couples, groups of teenagers. The inside of Nolan's Jeep was cool because of the A/C. After a full day of classes, my brain felt like mush and I couldn't wait to get back home, eat an entire bowl of cereal and de stress. I scrolled through my messages ignoring the ones from my mother reminding me to make sure Raymond went to his dentist's appointment. I checked my emails making sure I had submitted my animal diversity assignment before going over to my messages. I found a message from Nolan.
