Cassidy POV
It’s dark when we enter the house, I reach for the light switch by the door, but it doesn’t turn on. I flick it on and off a couple of times before giving up.
“No power.” I muse out loud.
“Wait here,” Jordan says before running back to his car. I watch him as he rummages through the boot. “Got it!” he yells back holding something in his hand. He runs back towards me and hands me a flashlight.
“Thankyou,” I tell him taking it before turning it on. The light illuminates the room and for the first time I see my childhood home empty. I take a step froward into the living room, guiding the flashlight around the room as I take in the bare room. Remembering what it looked like just 24 hours earlier.
“Nobody saw a moving truck?” I ask as I turn to look at Alpha Issac standing behind me.
“Nobody has seen or heard from them since the pre-meeting
Cassidy POVI stared at my birth certificate. A wave of emotions crashing over me as I read the names listed as my biological parents. Confusion hit first followed quickly by anger and betrayal. They lied to me. How could they lie to me? I feel the tears start to brim in my eyes. I could hear Jordan and his dad talking but I tuned them out. My body shutting down, the confirmation of their suspicion in my hands.Jordan grabs the paper from my hands, putting it back in the folder before wrapping his arms around me and pulling me closer to him. His touch instantly calming the rage starting to bubble. I turn my head into his arm, wiping the tears onto his bare skin.“I want to go home,” I mutter into his arm.“Okay” he replies and leads me back to the car.I sit in the car waiting for Jordan as he talks with his dad and Beta Samuels just out of earshot. I didn’t know what they were talking about,
Jordan POV I stare at Cassidy in shock as she screams. This is the first time I’ve seen her feel anything properly. I knew she was bottling up her emotions, but this was next level. She screams again as she drops to the floor. I rush over, reaching my hand out to her to try to calm her down before she pushes me away. I can hear someone come running down the hall as she continues to scream and cry. Samuels enters the room and looks at her on the ground, me kneeling beside her. He mind-links me. “What’s going on?” concern crossing his face as she screams again. “She’s breaking down. One second we were talking on the bed and the next second she got all angry, started pacing and then she dropped to the floor screaming and crying. I think she’s finally letting herself feel.” I reply to him. He relaxes visibly knowing I didn’t harm her. “I’ll grab her some water for when she calms down again.” He replies and heads back down the hall
Cassidy POV I wake up to an empty bed. My head thumping. I look around the room and notice Jordan isn’t here. Where is he? I think to myself. I get out of bed and head to the bathroom in search of panadol. Opening the cupboards and drawers of the vanity to no success. I look at myself in the mirror. I look like a blotchy mess. I turn the cold water on, cupping my hands beneath the stream. I bend down and splash my face with the water before rubbing my hands over my face. I look back up in the mirror, my face dripping with water and I sigh. I turn the water off and head back into the bedroom. My headache growing in intensity. I decide to head downstairs to see if there’s any panadol in the kitchen. As I walk into the kitchen I notice Jordan sitting on the back steps with Vanessa. What is she doing here? I grab a glass from the cupboard and fill it up in the sink before turning to get some panadol from the basket on top of th
Alpha Issac was listing off the names of different packs he thought I originally came from but none of them sounded familiar to me. I was an infant when we joined the Westford Pack. Our pack was situated almost dead centre of the state. There were packs every way we turned. There was only once road that followed the boarders of every pack and we called that the safe zone. When on that road you were untouchable. My parents must have travelled on that road to get here but from which direction they came was a mystery.“What about Forest Grove Pack?” Alpha Issac says, staring down at the map on his desk.“Nope,” I reply. Another unknown checked off the list.“Evertree?” Jordan asks, reading from a list. I shake my head before resting it on my fist propped up on the side of the leather chair.“Beaufort Pack?” Alpha Issac guesses, uncertainty crossing his face as he looks up at me.“Afraid not.”
Jordan POVI wake to the sun shining through my bedroom window into my eyes. I groan as I run my hands over my face. A foot kicks me and I roll over to see Cass tossing and turning having a nightmare. Sitting up, I shake her shoulders trying to wake her up. She sits up startled and stares at me. Her once chocolate eyes now shone a bright gold back at me before turning back as she blinks.“Are you okay?” I ask her, unable to avert my gaze from her eyes.“I feel fine? A little tired but fine. Why did you wake me up?” she asks, yawning as she stretched her arms out beside her.“You were tossing around having a nightmare.” I reply. She shakes her head before getting out of bed.“No not a nightmare… I don’t think anyway. It felt like a memory, but none of it seems familiar.” She says softly, walking to the bathroom and closing the door behind her. I watch the door, waiting for
At lunch everyone kept staring at Cass and I could tell it was making her uncomfortable. We ate outside the cafeteria to reduce the number of eyes on her, but I could still hear the chatter from inside. Everyone trying to ask me 1000 questions through the mind-link. I tried my best to tune them all out, but it was hard when 200 people are trying to talk to you all at once. “Does she put out?” I hear a voice flitting through my head. “I heard she lives with you, is that true?” another asks. “Vanessa told me she’s your pet, but you have to pretend she’s your mate,” comes another. “Have you seen her naked?” I feel the rage boiling up inside of me as more and more questions invade my brain. “What’s it like f**king a human?” I slammed my fists down on the picnic table, my lunch bouncing at the impact. The thoughts overwhelming me. I stand up and storm inside as Lani and Cassidy watch. I push the doors open and hear them slam against the wal
Koray POVI push Jordan deep behind the veil. I hated doing it, but it was for Cassidy’s best. I was the only one who can truly protect her. I focus back on Lani and Cassidy. They were scared. Didn’t Cassidy know she didn’t have to be scared of me. I take a step toward my mate and it feels weird. I’ve never had so much control over Jordan’s body before. It was odd being in a human body completely. My natural urges screaming for me to shift, but I won’t. Not unless I need to.Walking over to Cassidy, Lani is frozen beside her. I could feel how scared she was, even her wolf didn’t dare to come forward, to go against me. They knew it was a loosing battle. I grab Cassidy’s arm and she tries to fight back.“No! Leave me alone.” She screams at me, scratching at my arm and drawing blood. I watch as the scratches quickly heal. Another perk of being a werewolf.“Cut it out, we are g
Cassidy POVI gave up kicking and screaming in the boot after an hour. It was clear nobody was going to let me out anytime soon. I laid here trapped and closed my eyes. Koray has basically just kidnapped me, and we definitely weren’t going back home. Surely, he would let me out when we arrived, wherever that was. The drive went on for hours and I ended up falling asleep.I woke up and we had stopped, I heard growls coming from outside and Koray was talking with another man. I hear them approach the back of the car and unlock the boot. I was going to escape one way or another. The door to the boot lifts slightly and I slide my feet under me ready to jump out. Koray lifts the boot open completely and I leap at him, tackling him to the ground. He falls back catching me and I fight him to get off before I manage to get to my feet, and I make a break for it spotting the forest tree line in front of me.“Get her!” a man’s voice
