“Yes, Alpha, I understand.” “Okay. Here she comes.” I say, hanging up the phone. “Hi, I'm sorry to bother you,” she says She goes on to explain how she locked her keys in her car and needs help getting it open. This is going to be too easy. I help open the door, then offer to change her flat tire. After she denies my help, I know she is getting suspicious. Not to alert her to my plans, I walk away. If I mess this up, the alpha will kill me. I start walking away, just enough so that she thinks she is safe. As she pops the truck, I grab her. She kicks me in the balls, making me drop to the ground for a moment. This bitch is going to get it now. Alpha said not to harm her if possible. I'd say it is necessary. I get up and pull her collar back as she is running, making her fall. She looks up at me, obviously dazed from the impact. With one kick, she is out. Picking her up, I put her in the back of my SUV. It's black with tinted windows, so no one can see. “Alpha, I have her.” “Send someone to hide the car…. Yes, I am on the way. I hang up the phone and start driving to the Pack house. Kate I try to move, but the feeling of rope binding my hands and feet is preventing me from doing so. I open my eyes, and the room is barely lit, so it's hard to make out the details of the room. What happened? Where am I? As my head is pounding, I remember. Sam kidnapped me? But why, I try to struggle out of the ropes, but I hear footsteps outside the door. “How is she?” I heard Sam’s voice ask. “I think she is awake, I hear her trying to move around,” an unfamiliar voice responds. “Good, the Alpha is ready to see her.” As the door swings open abruptly, it makes me jump, and Sam walks in with a grin on his face. I look at him with disgust and confusion. “Well, look who is awake,” he comes closer to me. “You are quite the little fighter,” he chuckles. “Will you behave if I take the tape off your mouth?” he asked me. I nod my head, scowling at him. He rips the tape off my mouth roughly, making me wince in pain. I look at him, and he still has that same stupid grin. I’ll give him something to grin about. “What, nothing to say?” “Screw you!” I spat “What was that, you little bitch?” He grabs my face tightly. I cry out in pain, feeling like he is about to break my jaw. When I say nothing more, he loosens his grip. I spit in his face. I don’t know where this confidence is coming from, maybe the adrenaline, but no one is going to speak to me like that; I don't care who it is. Then my head is slapped to the side, and my cheek burns with pain. My eyes start watering, and my head is spinning. He just slapped me? Who the hell does he think he is? “If you try something like that again, I will kill you. Do you understand?” His voice is full of anger. “Go fuck yourself.” My voice is shaky In a second, his hand was around my throat, cutting off all air. As I struggle to breathe, gasping for any air I can. Tears started streaming down my face uncontrollably. “Are you going to behave now?” Sam asked with a smile. I nodded my head in agreement. After a second more, he dropped his hand, and I gasped for air while bending over in the chair. Trying to catch my breath, my lungs burn, and tears stain my face. Sam grabs my hair, pulling my head up to face him. “Now you get to meet the Alpha, and trust me, he is not as nice as I am. So I suggest you behave.” And with that, he walks away. It felt like an eternity but it was probably more like 5 minutes before the door opened again. In walks a monster of a man, taller than Sam, but not as good-looking. He has scars on his face, making him look scary. My eyes widen at the sight of him. “So Kate is it?” his voice rough and raspy In stock and terrified, I don’t say a word. “I asked you a question!” he snaps, making my whole body jump. I nod my head, too scared to speak. “Do you know why you are here?” “No.” My voice comes out as no more than a whisper. “Well, you are important to a rival of mine.” He walks around behind me. I jump when his hands grab my shoulders and lean down to my ear, making my entire body shiver. “And when he comes to save you, I am going to kill him,” he sneers. “Who?” I ask, confused. “Don’t play games with me. I know who you are and who you belong to,” he says, jerking my hair back to look at him. “I don’t know what you are talking about…please, you have the wrong person, let me go.” I cry out This only angers him more. He releases my hair and pulls the chair back, making it fall backwards onto the floor. He looks at me with curious eyes. “Do you know who I am?” his eyebrows raised “No.” I wine. “No? I am Alpha James, the leader of the West Ridge pack, and I am going to kill your mate.” “Alpha? Mate? This is the most ridiculous joke ever. Who put you up to this?” I laughed. Picking the chair up, he hits me in the side, breaking a few ribs. I scream and bend over from the pain, unable to control the tears that fall. He put his finger on my chin and brought my head up. “Listen here,” he stops and starts pacing the room as if in deep thought. “You really don’t know?” he shot a questioning look. I shook my head no. “How old are you?” “18,” I cried. “Hmm… You don’t know him, but he knows you.” James said to himself, His eyes lit up at the realization, and he turned to me with a big smile.I make my way to the bedroom to get ready. I can not believe it is happening right now. It seemed like forever away, and now here we are. I go into the bathroom, where I notice a dress hanging on the door. It is a beautiful floor-length ball gown, emerald green in color with a V neck. The top was made of lace with small stones that trailed down to about mid-side. It had a slit on the left side and a small train. It was the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. I slip it on and throw my hair into a quick but elegant updo. Then, after putting on the finishing touches, earrings, necklace, and shoes, I make my way downstairs. I see Molly at the base of the stairs talking to Jake.“Hey Molly, where is Troy?” I ask.“He is already at the ceremony waiting for you. He is getting everyone seated and making sure everything is ready,” she said.“He has made such a fuss about making sure everything is perfect,” Jake says. “That is so sweet,” I say.“If you want, I can walk with you,” she says.
I wake up seeing the run rise out the window and take a moment to enjoy it before getting ready for the day. I walk over to the window and push it open, letting the cool morning breeze flow through the room. I pause for a moment to listen to the birds singing and the sound of the wind in the trees. This is my last chance to run to try and get away. Am I crazy for wanting to stay? This whole situation is insane after all. I am kidnapped not once but twice, then I find out werewolves are not only real but that I am mated to one? Any sane person would stop at nothing to get away. That makes me crazy, but I guess that's okay. After taking a shower, I throw on some clothes and make my way downstairs.“Good morning,” he says. “You as well,” I replied. “So what is the plan for today?”“Everyone is setting up for the ceremony. You can take the morning to do what you wish; the ceremony starts at 2 pm.” He smiles.”“Actually, I'd like to stick by your side today if that’s okay,” I say. “Of co
KateI open my eyes to the sun streaming in the window. I lay there, listening to the birds sing, and dreaded getting out of bed. Every day that passes is a day closer to getting marked. I get out of bed and walk over to the bathroom. I turn on the bath water while I lay out some clothes and get undressed. After stepping into the tub, I let the water rise all the way to my neck before shutting it off. Soaking in the hot water, my mind wanders. What will it feel like? Will it change me? I hear a knock on the door, then the door opens slowly. “Good morning, beautiful,” Troy says, cracking the door but not looking in. “Good morning,” I replied without opening my eyes. “Are you alright?” He asks. “Yes, just thinking,” I say. “Breakfast is almost done.” He says. “Can you have Alex bring it to the garden?” I ask. “Yes, I will.” He says, closing the door. I finish my bath and get dressed. Then head down to the garden. I want some time to myself to think about everything. As I make
TroyOur lips touch, and my wolf goes crazy wanting to take her right here, right now. I have to pull him back, reminding him she is fragile. I pull away from her lips for a moment, looking into her eyes. I wrap my fingers in her hair and pull her into a deep, slow kiss that sends lightning throughout my body. I let my hands fall to her waist and pull her close. Then I feel her tense. “Is this alright?” I ask her. “Yeah, it’s just,” she pauses, “I’ve never done anything before.”“I know, we will take things slow. I’ll only do what you are comfortable with,” I say, stroking her cheek in comfort. “Thank you,” she says with a smile. “Do you want to stop here?” I ask. “I don’t know,” she says, unsure. “Want to go somewhere more private?” I ask“Sure,” she says. I take her hand, leading her back to the packhouse and into my room. I pull her into another kiss as I walk her back towards the bed. Once there, I slowly push her to lie down. KateAs he lays me on the bed, I can feel the
KateI see Troy towards the huge pile of wood that is stacked in the center. He grabs one of the lit torches and addresses the crowd of people. “Food is ready, let’s have some fun,” he says, throwing the touch into the pile of wood, which instantly goes up in flames.“Did you enjoy your evening alone?” he asks, walking past me towards the tables lined with food and drinks.I follow behind him as I reply. “Yes, actually, I had a really nice time, but I do have to ask you a favor,” “Oh? What might that be?” he asks, piling food on his plate.“I need some money. I got a camera from one of the shops, and he wouldn't let me pay. But I do not feel right taking something that he would have made money on selling. So I need to pay him for it, but I do not have any money. I don't have anything of my own now that I think about it. You took me away from my life, and everything I had is gone,” I sayHe turns to me with a sigh, “Okay, I will make sure he is paid for the camera. If you would like,
KateI follow Troy out of the meeting room and out the front door. We walk down the path towards the common area. I can hear voices in the distance, kids laughing, people talking. I take a look around and see it is really busy. There are little shop stands sitting around. Kids running and playing while parents stand nearby. I follow as Troy walks through the crowd, greeting people and shaking hands. I stop when I see a nursery full of kids. They are lying on the ground, coloring and making crafts. I walk over to them.“Hello,” I say, greeting the teacher.“Luna, Good morning, my name is Rebeca. I am one of the teachers here at the nursery. It is nice to meet you,” she says.“Good morning. I love kids, so I just had to come over and meet them.” I say.“You are welcome anytime, Luna. The kids love visitors,” she says.I sit down next to the kids and start coloring with them, completely forgetting that I was supposed to be following Troy.
