Sam

“Yes, Alpha, I understand.”

“Okay. Here she comes.” I say, hanging up the phone.

“Hi, I'm sorry to bother you,” she says

She goes on to explain how she locked her keys in her car and needs help getting it open. This is going to be too easy. I help open the door, then offer to change her flat tire. After she denies my help, I know she is getting suspicious. Not to alert her to my plans, I walk away. If I mess this up, the alpha will kill me.

I start walking away, just enough so that she thinks she is safe. As she pops the truck, I grab her. She kicks me in the balls, making me drop to the ground for a moment. This bitch is going to get it now. Alpha said not to harm her if possible. I'd say it is necessary.

I get up and pull her collar back as she is running, making her fall. She looks up at me, obviously dazed from the impact. With one kick, she is out. Picking her up, I put her in the back of my SUV. It's black with tinted windows, so no one can see.

“Alpha, I have her.”

“Send someone to hide the car…. Yes, I am on the way. I hang up the phone and start driving to the Pack house.

Kate

I try to move, but the feeling of rope binding my hands and feet is preventing me from doing so. I open my eyes, and the room is barely lit, so it's hard to make out the details of the room. What happened? Where am I? As my head is pounding, I remember. Sam kidnapped me? But why, I try to struggle out of the ropes, but I hear footsteps outside the door.

“How is she?” I heard Sam’s voice ask.

“I think she is awake, I hear her trying to move around,” an unfamiliar voice responds.

“Good, the Alpha is ready to see her.”

As the door swings open abruptly, it makes me jump, and Sam walks in with a grin on his face. I look at him with disgust and confusion.

“Well, look who is awake,” he comes closer to me.

“You are quite the little fighter,” he chuckles.

“Will you behave if I take the tape off your mouth?” he asked me.

I nod my head, scowling at him. He rips the tape off my mouth roughly, making me wince in pain. I look at him, and he still has that same stupid grin. I’ll give him something to grin about.

“What, nothing to say?”

“Screw you!” I spat

“What was that, you little bitch?” He grabs my face tightly.

I cry out in pain, feeling like he is about to break my jaw. When I say nothing more, he loosens his grip. I spit in his face. I don’t know where this confidence is coming from, maybe the adrenaline, but no one is going to speak to me like that; I don't care who it is.

Then my head is slapped to the side, and my cheek burns with pain. My eyes start watering, and my head is spinning. He just slapped me? Who the hell does he think he is?

“If you try something like that again, I will kill you. Do you understand?” His voice is full of anger.

“Go fuck yourself.” My voice is shaky

In a second, his hand was around my throat, cutting off all air. As I struggle to breathe, gasping for any air I can. Tears started streaming down my face uncontrollably.

“Are you going to behave now?” Sam asked with a smile.

I nodded my head in agreement. After a second more, he dropped his hand, and I gasped for air while bending over in the chair. Trying to catch my breath, my lungs burn, and tears stain my face. Sam grabs my hair, pulling my head up to face him.

“Now you get to meet the Alpha, and trust me, he is not as nice as I am. So I suggest you behave.”

And with that, he walks away. It felt like an eternity but it was probably more like 5 minutes before the door opened again. In walks a monster of a man, taller than Sam, but not as good-looking. He has scars on his face, making him look scary. My eyes widen at the sight of him.

“So Kate is it?” his voice rough and raspy

In stock and terrified, I don’t say a word.

“I asked you a question!” he snaps, making my whole body jump. I nod my head, too scared to speak.

“Do you know why you are here?”

“No.” My voice comes out as no more than a whisper.

“Well, you are important to a rival of mine.” He walks around behind me.

I jump when his hands grab my shoulders and lean down to my ear, making my entire body shiver.

“And when he comes to save you, I am going to kill him,” he sneers.

“Who?” I ask, confused.

“Don’t play games with me. I know who you are and who you belong to,” he says, jerking my hair back to look at him.

“I don’t know what you are talking about…please, you have the wrong person, let me go.” I cry out

This only angers him more. He releases my hair and pulls the chair back, making it fall backwards onto the floor. He looks at me with curious eyes.

“Do you know who I am?” his eyebrows raised

“No.” I wine.

“No? I am Alpha James, the leader of the West Ridge pack, and I am going to kill your mate.”

“Alpha? Mate? This is the most ridiculous joke ever. Who put you up to this?” I laughed.

Picking the chair up, he hits me in the side, breaking a few ribs. I scream and bend over from the pain, unable to control the tears that fall. He put his finger on my chin and brought my head up.

“Listen here,” he stops and starts pacing the room as if in deep thought.

“You really don’t know?” he shot a questioning look.

I shook my head no.

“How old are you?”

“18,” I cried.

“Hmm… You don’t know him, but he knows you.” James said to himself, His eyes lit up at the realization, and he turned to me with a big smile.

TroyOur lips touch, and my wolf goes crazy wanting to take her right here, right now. I have to pull him back, reminding him she is fragile. I pull away from her lips for a moment, looking into her eyes. I wrap my fingers in her hair and pull her into a deep, slow kiss that sends lightning throughout my body. I let my hands fall to her waist and pull her close. Then I feel her tense. “Is this alright?” I ask her. “Yeah, it’s just,” she pauses, “I’ve never done anything before.”“I know, we will take things slow. I’ll only do what you are comfortable with,” I say, stroking her cheek in comfort. “Thank you,” she says with a smile. “Do you want to stop here?” I ask. “I don’t know,” she says, unsure. “Want to go somewhere more private?” I ask“Sure,” she says. I take her hand, leading her back to the packhouse and into my room. I pull her into another kiss as I walk her back towards the bed. Once there, I slowly push her to lie down. KateAs he lays me on the bed, I can feel the

KateI see Troy towards the huge pile of wood that is stacked in the center. He grabs one of the lit torches and addresses the crowd of people. “Food is ready, let’s have some fun,” he says, throwing the touch into the pile of wood, which instantly goes up in flames.“Did you enjoy your evening alone?” he asks, walking past me towards the tables lined with food and drinks.I follow behind him as I reply. “Yes, actually, I had a really nice time, but I do have to ask you a favor,” “Oh? What might that be?” he asks, piling food on his plate.“I need some money. I got a camera from one of the shops, and he wouldn't let me pay. But I do not feel right taking something that he would have made money on selling. So I need to pay him for it, but I do not have any money. I don't have anything of my own now that I think about it. You took me away from my life, and everything I had is gone,” I sayHe turns to me with a sigh, “Okay, I will make sure he is paid for the camera. If you would like,

KateI follow Troy out of the meeting room and out the front door. We walk down the path towards the common area. I can hear voices in the distance, kids laughing, people talking. I take a look around and see it is really busy. There are little shop stands sitting around. Kids running and playing while parents stand nearby. I follow as Troy walks through the crowd, greeting people and shaking hands. I stop when I see a nursery full of kids. They are lying on the ground, coloring and making crafts. I walk over to them.“Hello,” I say, greeting the teacher.“Luna, Good morning, my name is Rebeca. I am one of the teachers here at the nursery. It is nice to meet you,” she says.“Good morning. I love kids, so I just had to come over and meet them.” I say.“You are welcome anytime, Luna. The kids love visitors,” she says.I sit down next to the kids and start coloring with them, completely forgetting that I was supposed to be following Troy. TroyAs I walk through the commons, I notice Kat

  • The Unexpected Luna    Chapter 8: Starting my new life

“No, stop… You have the wrong person. No!” I sit up in bed quickly, my breathing heavy. It must have been a bad dream. I rub the sleep out of my eyes to see the sun streaming in from the window. I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom. There are some clothes laid out on the sink along with some shower supplies. I undress and step into the shower, letting the water run down my body for a few moments. The hot water feels so good on my skin, I never want to get out. I grab the shampoo and start washing my hair, then move on to my body. I finish by washing my face, then rinse off and get out. After drying my body and hair, I toss it into a bun, just as I always do. I throw on the fitted t-shirt and pants that are on the sink. I feel so much better after a nice hot shower and having some clean clothes to wear. I finish getting ready and make my way downstairs to the kitchen. The smell of breakfast fills the air. I take in the smell of bacon and eggs, and I am starving. I walk in to see

  • The Unexpected Luna    Chapter 7: Secrets

Walking down the stone pathway, there are beautiful flowers of all colors and neatly trimmed bushes on both sides. At the center, there is a magnificent fountain lined with benches all the way around. We walk to it and sit down. I have never seen anything more beautiful in my life. Hearing the water flow and the smell of flowers all around is magical.“Kate, I know this is all so new and confusing, but I need you to start taking it seriously. People will try to hurt you to get to me.” Troy says“Why?” I question “I’m the youngest Alpha to ever lead a pack. Some people want my position and power and will do anything to get it. That includes hurting you. Alpha James is the biggest threat; he has been trying to kill me since the day I became Alpha.” He explains.“Why does he hate you so much?” I ask.“That’s a long story.” He says, looking away.“Well, don’t you think I need to know why?” “No.” He states sternly.

  • The Unexpected Luna    Chapter 6: No more running

KateAfter a few hours, I hear the door unlock. Sitting up in bed, I look to see Troy standing in the doorway. “Come eat, the kitchen has made lunch,” he says “I'm not hungry.” “You need to eat, come downstairs,” he takes off the ropes, and leaves. There is no sense in trying to run anymore. He will never let me leave, but that doesn't mean I'm going to listen to him. Walking over to the bookcase, I grab a book to read to pass the time. Troy comes into the room and places a plate of food on the bed, when I'm about halfway through the book. He leaves without a word. I place the book on the bed and grab the plate of food. Walking over to the chair by the window, I sit looking into the woods while I eat. I put the plate on the dresser and lay back on the bed to finish the book. I must have fallen asleep for a few hours because a knock at the door startles me awake. Troy walks in, taking the plate from the dresser and replacing it with a dark blue dress and black shoes. “Get change
