Chapter Five

I was hit with the musky male and pine scent before he stepped out the woods in front of me. This can’t be good. I couldn’t out run him and I didn’t want to be alone with him either. Austin wanted to walk with me but I refused said I needed to think. I should have just let him walk with me.

“Well if it isn’t the packs slave. Finally alone and no where to run.” he laughed. “I have been waiting for this moment since my birthday. “ I could smell the alcohol on his breath. He was to close. I stepped back only for him to grab me by the chin and tilt my face to look at him. “You can’t run from me mate.” No,no,no he had to be joking. This can’t be happening. This is where I will die in the woods by my supposed mate. “Before you start screaming I, Mike Jones, future Alpha of The Red Blood Pack reject you, Ella Morrighan as my mate and future Luna.” I felt like I had heartburn not a knife in my heart. I knew I had to accept his rejection because I damn sure didn’t want to be tied to this asshole. “I, Ella Morrighan, accept your rejection as my mate and future Alpha.” He let go of my chin and grabbed his chest. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. It felt like I had bad heartburn but I wasn’t going to stick around to die. I walked past him only to be grabbed by my hair. “You will tell no one about this.” He was trying to use an Alpha command on me. Stupid boy he should know it doesn’t work on me. I nodded and he let go. I ran I had to get away from him. All this time I was his mate. I was to be the Luna of this horrible pack. The moon goddess must be laughing. I would rather die than be Luna of this pack.

I wasn’t paying attention when I walked into the school because I ran into the last person I wanted to deal with today. Karen it just had to be Karen. “Watch where you are walking slave.” She smelled the air and she glared at me. Well shit! I knew she could smell Mike on me. “Why do you smell like Mike you bitch?” *slap* “He is mine and when I’m Luna, I’m going to love kicking you out of the pack.” “I can’t wait until you do! It will be the happiest day of my life!!” She was shocked that I had spoken to her. She quickly recovered and slapped me again. Then with her little minions she walked away. I walked to my locker to get my books for class. I knew I should have stayed home. I haven’t spoke to any members of the pack since my 8th birthday. I was definitely getting punished for this.

“Girl, I wish I could have recorded that! It was epic and hot!” Only Kierra could make me laugh after something like that. “She pissed me off. I just want to be at home curled up with a book. Stuffing my face with all my favorite food.” “Well not happening girl so suck it up. Happy Birthday bestie. I got this for you.” She handed me a small gift box. I unwrapped it and immediately started crying. It was a beautiful handmade bracelet with a gem in the middle of it. It was warm to the touch almost like Kierra’s calming aura. “Thank you so much bestie it’s beautiful.” “ Put it on Ella it has a protection spell on it. Our pack has a witch coven close to us and we helped them years ago. They are under our protection. I asked my friend if she could make you a protection bracelet. I just had a feeling you needed it. So I made the bracelet and she put the gem and spell on it. I really hope you like it.” “I love it thank you. Can you help me put it on?” The moment it was on I could feel a tingling on my wrist. Unfortunately I would have to take it off before I leave school. I don’t want it to get taken from me like the friendship bracelet was when I was 12. Alpha Ralph seen it when it was time for my birthday whipping. He said I don’t deserve anything. Slaves don’t get birthday gifts. I always hide them and give them to Austin to put in his safe place.

Thankfully I haven’t seen Karen since this morning. On Fridays I would always wait until the school cleared out to go to the library to read or do any homework that I couldn’t do over the weekend. With it being the last day of school I just wanted some peace before returning to the pack. The Alpha will come by the orphanage at 7pm to drag me to the post. I would take my punishment then go back to the orphanage to recover. This would be the last time because I would leave before my next birthday. I pulled the bracelet Kierra gave me off and put it in my pocket. I didn’t want to forget I had it on when I walk home. Time to go to the library for a bit.

I had only walked halfway down the hallway when someone grabbed me from behind. My training with Kierra kicked in and I elbowed whoever had grabbed me. They released me and I went to run only to be punched in the face by none other than Mike. I had to get up and fight. I was seeing black dots in my vision. I knew I was going to pass out. I saw Karen coming closer to me. I had to get up. Karen grabs my chin roughly and the next words out of her mouth and I knew today I would die. “I told you slave you will pay for touching what is mine. Today you will die or wish you were dead!” And that was it I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I’m sorry Kierra, I tried to fight.
