Surrounded

He placed her hair behind her ear.He wondered how this woman managed to capture his heart.Anyways,he was glad she was his now.Together,they'd be powerful.

He'd sensed her powers back then when he taught her how to use the daggers.He was ready to bet how beautiful her wolf would be.

The excitement that bubbled up because of these was soon brought to an end when their carriage jerked and stopped abruptly.

"What's wrong,Axel?"

"The carriage...the horses wouldn't move"

"Let's see what it is" Blake moved towards the door

"I think it's the vampires."

"We'll face them,Axel.We have to protect the Luna at all cost"

He took one last look at Nina who was still asleep.He hoped she wouldn't wake up in the course of the fight because she'd never seen a vampire before and he didn't want her to try fight them.He stepped out.

There stood nine rogues vampires with eyes as red as cripsen and fangs as long as a tree.

His muscles stretched and his clothes ripped in shreds and there stood Alpha Blake.The rogues rushed at him.

Nina awoke.

The carriage was dark.For how long had she been sleeping? Outside looked pretty dark and where was Blake?

"Blake?" she shifted from her position when something hit the carriage with so much force that it sent her back.Fear gripped her heart.She began to tremble slightly.

Had Blake left her? Or...or could it be...her thoughts trailed off.She moved towards the door of the carriage.She pulled it open,summoned courage and stepped out.

Red fiery eyes stared back at her.There were bodies sprawled on the floor.

Nina took a step back.Blake turned.He frowned when he saw her.

"Get back into the carriage,Nina!" he yelled trying to hold off the vampires but Nina stood rooted to the spot,too shocked to move.

"Fuck!" Blake growled "Axel,take her away from here.I'll catch up with you"

Axel grabbed her hand and began running.Nina kept looking back.When they were quite a distance away,he stopped for her to catch her breath.

"Are you alright?" he asked

She nodded "Are those vampires?"

"Yes" he answered "They're the rogues"

"Rogues? They're different from the vampires?"

"Yes.The rogues are less powerful.The vampires are mostly kings,queens,people of higher authority" they moved through the woods "They have ranks too.Half bloods,ancient vampires."

"The ones that attacked us in the last full moon?"

"Those are the vampires and some of the rogues" he replied

"Can't we device a means to kill them? I mean..they know how to defeat us even on the full moon."

Axel sighed

"Nina..the thing is we're yet to face the most powerful of them.He's the main cause of this war.His mother was a werewolf.She married a vampire,a forbidden act.She was killed along with the vampire.They had him before that though."

"So you can imagine.He's a half werewolf.He knows our every weaknesses.Probably the one who gave away the tactic of defeating us even on the full moon"

Nina shook her head "That's stupid.This war wouldn't bring back his parents would it? How many lives just for his parents?!"

"Don't say that if you happen to come across him" he laughed.

Nina scoffed

"How about Blake? Shouldn't we-"

"He'll be fine.C'mon I've got to find a place for you"

They treaded along the path again,Nina behind him.She kept on seeing the image of those rogues in her head.

If the rogues were that scary and bizarre,she was thinking,how then would the vampires look like? And for how long would they continue to run? She wondered if her father is still alive.

She bumped into Axel which broke her chain of thoughts.He held his daggers.

"Nina..." he whispered as he slowly turned to her "The vampires are here.Run!"

"Let's go,Axel!" she cried out.She couldn't imagine another person sacrificing his life

"You go first,I'll be behind you!"

She turned back ready to run but she stopped in her tracks.They were surrounded.Red fiery eyes blazing in the dark.They were coming closer until Nina could finally see them.

They looked nothing like the rogues.In fact,they were so beautiful that Nina forgot for a while that they were there to kill them.They even looked like normal human beings.What did she expect?! Horns on their heads and blood dripping from their mouths?

"Give us the girl peacefully" one of them spoke

Axel held out his sword "No way,you damned souls"
