Alaric's POV

Edward felt his heart slam against his chest like it was about to explode. 'Why would Rodrigo have an objection? I thought he still approved of me a little?', he thought confused.

"May I know what your objection is humble sire", Alaric asked, smiling. Rodrigo climbed down the stairs and sat beside Alaric facing Edward.

" It's not just by ensuring no harm comes to him. What if you ensure no harm comes to him but still maltreat him? What if you do not feed him or care for his needs? What if he's not free to talk around you later on because you yelled at him or something? ".

He rested back on the chair, folded his arms and continued," I think the clause shouldn't be only limited if any harm comes to him. It should be how you treat him in general. If you don't cook for him in the morning, I wouldn't mind finding out how your blood tastes".
