Tala Hill
I let out a deep breath as I got out of the director's car. Now is the only time that I felt so much happiness that we were back at the academy. Now is the only time that I remember feeling stressed and anxious. I immediately put the bandage on my left wrist after the nurse gave it to me. I wanted to hurry, but I couldn't. Miss Romanova might have doubted me if I bandaged my wrist sloppily. We would have been home long ago if it wasn't for the appearance of the annoying man. I get annoyed again when I remember what he did to me.“Thank you, Ma'am, for coming with me,” I thanked the director with a smile when we entered the dormitory“Don't be silly. That's part of my job as your director,” she commented and went straight back to her office.I was about to go up the stairs when I saw Maya hurrying down to me. “Tala, where have you been?” my sister asked immediately. “I’ve been so worried about you, not in our room for a while. If no one had told me that they saw you leave with Miss Romanova, I might have called for help already. I’m stressed knowing you're not here,” she said with a worried face. She was trembling in fear. She glared at me.“I’m so sorry, Maya. I was in such a hurry I forgot to leave you a note. You don’t have to worry anymore. I'm already here. Safe,” I assured her. “We just went to the hospital. That’s all,” I announced.“What! Why? Are you hurt? What happened?” Maya hysterically asked. Her eyes went to my left wrist. “What happened to your hand?” she asked again. Her voice and face are full of concern. “Is that the reason why you went to the hospital? You should have woken me up so I could go with you,” she whispered.I sighed. How am I going to explain this to her? I sighed again and whispered to Maya. “It's fake.” I looked her in the eyes. “I was just pretending that I hurt my hand,” I added.“What! What do you mean?” Maya asked, surprised and confused. I smiled discreetly before lifting my hand in front of her face. I moved it around. Maya's eyes widened.“Then why did you leave? You mean to say that I was worried for nothing?” she asked.“I need to go out of the academy. I contacted Aunt Kyndra. Don't be mad at me, Maya. I just don't want to bother you,” I said.“You are not a bother to me, Tala. We are sisters, remember?” She looked at me dead in the eyes. “Why did you contact her? What happened?”I did not know how to answer her questions, but eventually, I decided to tell her the truth.“I asked for a sleeping potion.”Her expression suddenly changed because of what I said. “What? Tala, why didn't you tell me?” Maya asked. A little offended.I sighed. “I just don't want you to worry,” I reasoned out.“But I’m your sister. It is my job to worry about you. We’re bound to look for each other.” She took my hand and held it tightly. I squeezed it in return. “I am always here for you, Tala. For us. Don’t take your problems to yourself. Don’t go out like that again,” she said sullenly.I nodded. “I’m really sorry, Maya,” I sincerely apologized.“Hmm. I’ll let it go this time because I love you. But don't you dare do it again,” she said. Threatening me with her eyes staring at me like a dagger.I smiled. “Yes, Señorita.”She clung at arm. “So, did anything else happen besides your conversation with Aunt Kyndra?” she asked with a knowing look on her face.I winced. “Nothing really,” I lied. She raised her brows while smiling at me like an idiot.“Why are you smirking? You look—”She laughed. “Why do I feel like something happened?”I surrendered at her cuteness. “You are really my sister.” I sighed. We both entered our rooms. I layed down on my bed. I raised my hand to my face. I looked back at my sister. “Something happened.”She slumped on my bed and watched me intently. “Tell me what happened,” she said. A look of excitement is plastered on her face.“I was on the hospital's rooftop. After chatting with Aunt Kyndra, a man appeared all of a sudden.”I watched as Maya's face suddenly lit up as if listening to a love story going to unfold. “Stop smirking. I was attacked before you feel giddy.”“Whoa! Are you serious?”I nodded. I thought he’s a vampire but then the sun was touching his skin. And he's big. I thought he needed a hug but then I realized he was fucking sniffing me.”Maya burst out laughing. “I bet he's cute,” she commented.“What the heck? I was attacked by a stranger and now you're thinking he was cute?” I asked, dumbfounded.“Tala, I watched your eyes sparkle. I know he's handsome. Am I right?”I stopped talking. I couldn't stop thinking about the man's face. His ruffled black hair and his beautiful eyes. His eyes as dark as the night sky.Tala HillMe and Maya boarded the school bus of St. Marco Academy, along with our classmates and class adviser. We are now heading to one of the historic buildings in Rome. Today is the day that Maya's music contest will be held. It is why we are together with the whole class to support her. Maya is seated next to me. She has been tuning the violin non-stop for a while now. She was obviously nervous and restless.I stopped her hand and looked at her with a smile. “Maya, my beautiful sister. Just relax.”Maya sighed. “I can’t. I’m really nervous. What if I make a mistake? I'll just embarrass our school,” she mumbled.I shook my head in disapproval. “Hey, nothing of that sort will happen. You will never embarrass the school. Believe in your talent, Maya, because we all believe in you. So, have you forgotten what I have told you? When you feel nervous, just look for me in the crowd—”“And you will make funny faces to make me smile,” she finished what I had to say. Maya squeezed my hand.
Tala HillMaya looked in my direction after hearing my voice and a look of relief washed over her face when she saw me. “Tala!” she shouted. Her voice was trembling. The man did not pay attention to me and continued what he was doing. “Let go of my sister or I swear I will snuff the air out of you,” I threatened him with all my might. But the man still ignored me. I was about to start walking towards them when a man suddenly appeared and blocked my path. If I am not mistaken it came down from one of the trees there. “Sorry, I have no idea what you said,” the blue haired man said. “But that girl will come with us. She’ll come with us.”That must have been the biggest mistake the blue haired man made because it made me even more angry. “She will go with you?” I looked at him with an evil look. “Don’t make me laugh!” I snapped. The wind blowing around became even stronger. I extended my hand to the man with blue hair. And sharp blades of wind came out of her hand. It seemed surprised by
Shaun Smith I was intently watching the unconscious girl laying in my hotel room. Her long raven-black hair was spilling over the white covers of the bed she was in. My bed. I did not understand but I felt a sudden pride to see her sleeping in the bed I slept in. I really wanted her to open her eyes. So that I could see those amazing pairs of green eyes. But until now the woman is still unconscious. And I seem to want to kill someone when I think of the reason why she was in this situation. Preferably, the life of one of the guys outside my room.I could barely contain my anger when I saw the woman's bloody back. If Chester hadn't stopped me, I might have broken Ash's neck because of what he did. To this day, I still don't understand how the woman was able to bring out that kind of emotion in me. Just like that time in that hospital. The four of us split up to look for the night blooming flower or any information on where it could be found. I was out on the street when I picked up a
Tala I slowly opened my eyes as I heard the voice . Her gaze landed on the broad chest of a man. I felt his arm wrapped around my waist while his hand was gently stroking my hair. I immediately pushed him on instinct but not the man did not even budge. I was stunned for a moment. Because I remembered something specific about this scenario. It happened before. “You are awake. Thank God,” said the man with a familiar baritone voice. I slowly raised my face and almost gasped when our eyes met. My green eyes meet his dark ones. My suspicion was correct. It was the guy at the hospital! There was the strange beating of my heart again. That continuous thumping that I didn't want to feel. Before I could speak, the man quickly stood up. “You were having a nightmare, that was the only way I could think of to calm you down. And you kind of really calmed down,” he said before sighing and scratching his messy hair. “Maybe you can’t understand what I’m saying.”The man must have thought that I ca
Tala HillI didn't want to hear their arguments so I immediately entered the room. I stopped momentarily when I saw the brown-haired guy sitting on the chair on the bed where Maya was sleeping. He was looking at Maya dreamily. I picked up the closest thing to me, which was a bowl, hoping to throw it at him. But the brown haired guy suddenly turned in my direction and when he saw me he was overcome with fear. The fear on his face was like seeing a ghost. The guy turned pale and quickly stood up. “I’m not doing anything bad to h-her. I promise!” he mumbled while raising his hands in surrender. He was trembling.I might have laughed right away when he said those words. If only I was not annoyed by the expression on his face. “Liar. Get the hell out of here!”Following my order, he stumbled his way out of the room. After he was gone, I sat down in the chair he was sitting in earlier. I looked at Maya and removed some strands of hair that were covering her face. I suddenly remembered what
Tala Hill“If you have something to say, can you please say it now?” I snapped, irritated to be with them in the same room. If looks were deadly, they would have definitely dropped dead in front of me. We are all in the living room of the hotel suite. I was sitting two chairs next to Maya, in front of us were four sweaty men. Earlier, I was annoyed at the one with the gray hair, now I was even more angry with the man who had been smiling at me. I wanted to whack the shit out of him. His smiles irritated me. The one with black hair and dark eyes. I hate him. He put antimagic on me without my knowledge and I hated it. I was so annoyed looking at him. “Goddamn.” I rolled my eyes at him. “Can you please stop smiling at me? You're irritating,” I added. The more I stated that I hated his smile, the more he smirks at me like an idiot.“Just relax,” he said, putting his feet on the center table like an asshole. Why would someone do that? “Let me introduce ourselves first. The one at the end
Tala HillI screamed at the top of my lungs. I subconsciously hit him in his shoulder with my free hand. My stomach almost flipped because of what Shaun did. I haven't done such things, jumping from one building to another while he was lifting me without stopping until reaching the high rise building where we are standing now. I even managed to get into a car with no brakes and spin around in the air when he dropped me. Before long I was taking deep breaths just to get my heart beating back to normal. My suspicion that he is not human only increased after seeing and experiencing what he did. Because no normal person would do what he had done. I was catching my breath while thinking about what happened in the hospital. Maybe Shaun did the same thing to get to the roof deck of the hospital without me realizing it. My curiosity to know what kind of creature he was became more intense.“Did you enjoy our little ride?” I snapped back to reality after hearing his voice again. His questions
Chapter 11Shaun SmithI was walking fast as I smelled something wrong in the air, a stench so strong it could only belong to one creature. I turned to the corner Tala had turned and my suspicions were correct. A man was standing not far from Tala, wearing an expensive three-piece suit. But that is not what is more remarkable about the man. It was his pale skin and blood-red eyes. When it smiled, a pair of fangs came out from his mouth. He even had the audacity to lick his lips. A vampire.I was stunned for a moment. He wasn't even trying to hide his identity. He blatantly showed his true self. Worried, I looked at Tala, she was just standing there as if frozen. I immediately moved and used myself as a block between Tala and the vampire. The foul smell of the vampire hitting my senses. One of the smells I hated the most is the smell of things like him. A filthy scent of blood and madness.“Tala,” I said, trying to look at her stunned face. She was motionless. “Are you okay?” She d
